Can't use Deluxe Biofuel

I just made 3 deluxe biofuels for the Aces High Game. When I go into the mini game and click on my plane, the option to use the deluxe biofuel is grayed out. How do I use the deluxe biofuel?

Deluxe Biofuel will advance you 1 step and reward you double the prize. If you are trying to use it on a space that does not have a prize, it will not advance you. You must use it on a step that has a reward.

To clarify, you can only use the Deluxe Fuel if it lands you on or past one of the "Gift" prizes.

I just completed the quest but did not get all of the upgrades for the space racer. I only got enough to take the deco item to Futuristic Space Race 1. The completed deco item should be Futuristic Space Racer 4. Can you tell me why I didn't get the last three upgrades?

 

To get the 6 curtain upgrades, you needed to use the Deluxe Biofuel on the last step of race 2, 3 and 4. The reaward for these were 1 curtain upgrade that you could multiply by 2 with the Deluxe Biofuel.

 

Nordais is correct. In order to receive enough of the curtain upgrades, you would have needed to use Deluxe Biofuel on race 2, 3 and 4.

I don't see where the FAQ specifically says that you have to use the Deluxe Biofuel on those three races to get all of the upgrades. If that is the case, it should have been mentioned in the FAQ.
