I'd like to say thank you to the mods who made sure the FAQ was crystal clear with how this event works. Everything is there and I knew how this would go on my first reading of the FAQ. That said, I will not be attempting this event.

First field opened offers 99 event crops for each harvest when the first donations of the Popper Pea event crop are wither 132 or 156 to make 1 donation. That means at least 2 full harvests of that field to make 1 donation or 4 harvests of that field to fill both the customer orders. That's a full day of harvest for a normal person who wants to sleep during the night and not get up in the middle of the night to harvest. The mini game in itself became obsolete, it doesn't help to further things up on the progress bar. There was a time when we could catch crates from the Queen during the parade, not anymore. Stretching the event over a two week period and complicating things over by adding 2 different drops appearing on different times, the need for a second event crop, a second float that also needs another item to play the mini game (the trident) on a timed customer order template like the Season Event (that I do not participate in), asking for mainland products/tree fruits/crops to make some donations and having the two floats alternate on a two hour period to play the mini game in the last few days just made one thing clear: I'm stepping away from this event.

It's impossible to know how much effort is needed to attain a specific goal (cloud row 1 or 2 or Piccolo Boxes). A 6h event crop on the Event Field means 4h48 with only water and 4h20 with water and manure when the reset time for orders is 7h. 3 Complete harvests of the first 99 1x1 field doesn't allow to fill both requests of the first client in the first 5 days of the event. That also means that I'll be stepping away from the event.

 

My first thought, upon reading the FAQ, was "ooh, this is like the very first Carnival Queen, where we had to decorate the float before we could play the parade games." Then I read more

I will probably grow some stuff because it's on the event field, but I am not going to go all in, as I usually do, because... too complicated! It's very sad, because this is an event that for years, I (and a lot of other players) have looked forward to.

Edit a couple days in: Ok, so it's pretty painless to grow the first crops. Delivering to the customers is problematic, as there seems to be no way to grow enough crops to satisfy them, at least not for me, with a life where I cannot harvest promptly upon a sped-up time frame. Waiting an arbitrary amount of time for another function to open is tedious. The mini game, as said below, is glitch free - but it is also pretty joyless. So I'll amend my original statement to say, this is just discouraging - there seems a high likelihood of not completing it, no way to make up what we lose if we have a real life, and kind of meh rewards for so much effort. Again, I'll say - love the event field concept, but limiting it by not allowing enhancements to be used is just hobbling your players. If the goal is something for lower level players, then make it easier! Dragging it out for two weeks but not letting us make up lost time feels punitive. When I read about people setting alarms, I just cringe. I have a job, I have a family, I have responsibilities - I do not need my enjoyment to punish me if I am five minutes late on something.

 

Carnival Queen used to be fun. Now it is very complicated with no real idea of what you might win. I will as -matsellest- says above, probably plant on the event field but I find no real reason to work hard on this one. I have no interest in stickers, glue and associated prizes. (Same goes for my other 3 farms.)

 

Over the years, for many players, this is a wonderful recurring event we look forward to and are excited to participate in. The convoluted changes made this time around really takes the fun out of it and the prizes and CRs are not too great in my opinion. I'm not sure if I'll plant yet, but I don't look forward to it like I normally do and will have no real interest or enthusiasm to complete it.

 

I also felt that this event has been overhauled unnecessarily and had the fun squeezed out of it.

I haven't taken in as much detail as the other posters here but I think I will give it a go cos it is on the Event field and won't impact on what else I am doing - in fact, I am using it as a chance to build up my stock of some tree fruits that I am short of - no point using CAC or other plant buffs when the event plants aren't included.

I won't be making any special effort and will do a maximum of three harvests a day and see how I get on. I am hoping that this is going to be more fun than I first thought but we shall see.

Edit: Many of us have asked for more use of the Event field but I really think there are other events that would do better than taking a favourite and adapting it to fit the Event field. Farmers, be careful what you wish for!

 

Nope, this wil be the first time in a long, long time I wil not participate in the carnaval event. Normally one of my favorits.
It has been made way too complicated with prices that are just not it.

I'm sure the graphics deserve a compliment, they are usually beautiful.

I will add that I was excited to see the Carnival event coming up BUT when the FAQS came out and all I saw was a confusing mess being played on the Event Field no less, I knew you had taken a fun "Classic Event" and ruined it! I understand that the Team is trying to keep things fresh and new and interesting to players but imho this was not the event to improve!

 

The Carnival used to be one of my favorite events .. not this time round.
I feel we have been punished in some way! :-(

 

Basically it is most Flopped Event in Farmerama History

• Avoid Complex FAQ Events
• Do not gives us Event Field Events , where we cannot use Buffs Boosters or Super Grow or Suzy etc
• Do not give us events lasting two weeks unless they is really gives us very generous prizes
• Carnival Queen has always been one most popular generous events Why, Why Why change gaming concept of this event , there has not been negative feedback in previous events It is so plainly obvious you do not listen to all our feedbacks from previous carnival Queen events
• No Fun or Joy for two weeks

Just return it to the previous style of playing. This is so complicated. I will grow the crops but not actually do the event. Sorry this is a big NO from me.

 

Who decided to re-invent the wheel? The carnival queen was fine...This event is now plain chaos :-(

 

The Valentine's Day event held in the event area before was nice, especially the octopus arms were very generous. Unfortunately this time it was quite complicated and the on time order delivery reminded me of the Alpine valley. I hope the Queen's next visit to the farm will be the same as before.

 

I think that the event field actual event that rewards the major prizes is/will be fine as it progresses. The head scratcher is the floats and the carnival queen mini-game.

In past iterations, the carnival queen has either been very stingy or very generous. There were times when the functionality of the mini-game was horrible and others where she was glitch-free. This time out, she's pretty seamless - no glitches, but she's throwing nothing much worth having. Mostly a little EP and a few SG/SSG. I do appreciate the fancy hormones for breeding (thank you). That's about it. A beginning farm might appreciate the EP/TEP, but for those of us well over level 200, a couple hundred thousand EP is a drop in the bucket, and having maxed out Bahamarama at level 800 so long ago, I can't even remember when, any/all reward of TEP is worthless.

So the floats are mere decorations taking up valuable space on the event field and they disappear after two hours. Why even have them?

One could literally complete this event and never play even one of the carnival queen's mini-game, she's been made completely superfluous. Sad, really, because the coders made her mini-game play the smoothest in the history of the Queen (and kudos to them for having done so).

 

Every player was given a rainbow to play the carnival float at the beginning of the event.
Am I right in thinking that this free play does not count toward the number of times played during the event?
I have somehow managed to play the carnival float twice since, but had the first free play counted, then I would have two more fre rainbows.
This is annoying, but I am determined! LOL!!

 

The rainbows have nothing to do with the 'count' towards the 250 items needed to get the main prizes in this event. In order to receive those, you must donate to the customers and receive the masks. Each mask is ONE point towards the 250.

The rainbows are nothing more than a ticket to play the mini-game with the Carnival Queen...which as I discussed above is pointless.
