Whoa nelly!!! This looks to be a tough event!!!:wuerg:
I really need some smart people to give me some advice on how to approach this challenge!

I'm especially concerned about still working on the new Soup quest....so I don't want to use breeding animal that are needed for that.o_O

    I would appreciate any/all strategies????:p

teddy or any other mod available. Would you please move this to the Game Strategy thread? I am such a goof and mistakenly put it here.
See....this is exactly why I need help with strategy! LOL

Brookeham - The raccoons are probably sell high because farmers won disguise shops in the last event, but didn't have raccoon pens. The roosters have been high in my market ever since they were introduced.

    Good point mindy!;)
I've been focusing my whole farm on the soup quest....time for a whole switch up!!!:wuerg:
I'm going to pull out all my production pens as they mature...as to allow for long-grow crops(produce better drops in my opinion). And put in all my dogs, kitties and moose, beavers pens out.:p
Anyone else have any bright ideas????

Unless you have very high CC value crops open on Baha, stick to trees and animal pens there. (This is my only input at this time except, why didn't you create this thread in the game strategy category?)

I have been gone for most of the day and then have had lots of problems getting in (and staying in) the forum to find out info for the event. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the event is tomorrow instead of Saturday (22nd) as posted in the preview calendar. Yes, I know things can change but it was a surprise. The requirements! Whew! I am not sure I can swing the breeding stock.

I did look up last year's Harvest Festival to compare and we had to donate a total CC of 444,600 (crops/trees/animals/tools), 8800 event crops and 800 drops. This year's is such an upswing that no comparisons can be made.

I wish good luck to all who pursue this event. I need a few more minutes to process what we are being asked to do as right now I am a little overwhelmed.

Yes I am too Surprised that Chestnut Festival is starting a day earlier than Planned has to Re Plant my fields with Long time Crops to get as many Chestnuts i can for Tomorrow Event. So I can get ahead start on this New Event.

    As This Event Requires

    • 130,000 Crop Exchange Value
    • 165,000 Animal Exchange Value
    • 150,000 Fruit Exchange Value
Combined Total of 445,000 Exchange Value just slightly more compared to last year Event as Puppiesponies had said. They have removed the requirement of Tools Exchange Value this Time but replacing it with Breeding Animal Exchange Value

Are you Ready that Exchange Breeding Animal Value Requirement Total to Complete the Chestnut Festival Event is 2,450,000 worth of Breeding Animals

The Overall Totally Donation Values of Crops/Animals/Fruits and Breeding Animals is 2,895.000 Exchange Value

Just Let you know this Event had always be aimed at Very High Level Serious Players, Has been for Last 5 years....!!!

Simply: I will use the best EP/hr crop & animal (Roses & Parrots) and rare fruits.
Cats have the best EP/ hr of the mainland animals, I think, I haven't updated my spreadsheet for some time.

Help! Where are all our maths experts?
I make it 16,650 Sunchokes required 620 Chestnut Munchkins - feel free to jump in and correct me, maths not being my forte! :p
This farm will not be doing any more than the first level (for the Powerfeed). :)
Illy has worked out ( :wuerg: ) all the requirements and has enough of everything else so will be doing the event. The drop requirement seems very low - 620 - maybe I missed something? I will use just the main field and the meadow for event crops. I can't lift everything from the island and glade again! o_O

I was intending to fulfill the crop requirements with high level crops but may just dump 100,000 of lettuce* - knew I was saving it for something - and make up the difference with other lower end crops. That way, I can save all my carnations. :music:

    * Edit: First mathematical error - the second crop requirement is 800,000 not 80,000! LOL! So I will still use my 100,000 lettuce but have to subsidise it with some of my precious carnations lol! xD

I will definitely not be trying for the big pirze. I thought long and hard about doing this event at all on Illy - all my lovely breeding animals.:cry::cry:

    Good luck everybody. :inlove:

It seems like the "harvest event" is always the toughest one of the year. Long time players save for this one all year.

    My numbers...
620 -- Event drops /7= an average of 88.57 drops per day. A very low number. It's not the drops that will keep people from finishing. ;)
16,650 -- Event crops /7= 2378.57 per day /3 rounds= 792.85 per round. I can easily do that using Main and Meadow fields and CAC.

    From someone else's totals...
    130k crop EV /142= 915.5 carnations. That's what I'm going to use.
165k animal EV /700= 235.7 pandas. Not saying I'm going to use pandas... :D
I'll use whatever critter I have a "surplus" of.
150k (tree) fruit EV /170= 882.35 maple sap. That's what I'm going to use

    2,450k BREEDING ANIMALS!!! UGH!!!
Since I have trouble getting to the Market... I'm embarrassed to say I have plenty. Not sure yet which I'll use and which I'll sell.
But... ONE half shell bunny is more than enough
2+ flying pigs is almost enough

Why couldn't they have asked for the stupid tools that I have MOUNTAINS of?!

I just checked the Market and was going to buy some bred animals that I was going to sell last week, but the price was too low, but the price is already AT LEAST four times what it was last week.

I'm not counting on a BBDay...

I was counting on the event starting Sat instead of tomorrow. I had other plans for tomorrow. Phooey!

    EDIT:
I'm told the numbers I was working with last night right before midnight while standing at the computer, I don't think well on my feet, are incorrect. My new numbers...
850k crop /142= 5985.9 carnations. Still going to use carnations.
750k animal EV /700 = 1071.42 pandas. Still not sure which critters I'll use. Although I do have that many pandas. :D

I am in question of the figures you are working with:
does not the event, to play it to the end, require the following:
850,000 crop exchange value (not 130,000)
750,000 animal exchange value (not 165,000)
or have I read the FAQ incorrect

Ibarker, I think you are right. One has to count the zeroes carefully :p

I looked at last years requirement a few weeks ago, and thought I was okay, now not so much. But I really want those cute chestnut animals, so I am in :D

The big problem was the breeding animals, I had to buy most of them, and I was very low on cc (less than a million). Offered lots of things for sale, and bought the breeding animals I could afford, but was still short last night.

But during the night my circus panda sold! I have had it out for sale since last weekend, for 5.75 million, and I was afraid it would never sell. But it did, and this morning I bought the rest of the breeding animals I needed. Spent about 4 million on breeding animals.

I am still a bit sad that my circus panda left  (nice way of saying I sold him ;)) I got him from a skip when panda breeding was introduced and he has been sitting in my park watching the world cup (from this summer) ever since. I hope he has found another circus panda to make a home with, I could not give him that, and he was getting lonely.

I try and do my best here to clarify some facts that i put clear a strategy how we best best Tackle This Event.

    Drops

The Drop Item is Chestnut Munchkins as we only need 620 of Them over 7 days of this Event, Not as high as earlier Events. They have an exchange value of Only 120, Last year it is was Golden Hazelnut which had an Exchange Value of 5000 this is huge drop in Value compared to Chestnut Munchkins, as All Surplus Chestnuts Munchkins can be donated into Top 1000 Once you completed Level 7 of Chestnut Festival which unlocks you to be able to Donate what you can afford to discard from your Barn Stocks to complete in the Top 1000. Therefore any Surplus Chestnuts Munchkins is not going to help very Much for Top 1000

    Event Crop

This Year Event Crop is Sunchoke it is an 8 Hour Crop as we will be needing 16.650 of Them to Complete All 7 Levels of This Event, if you compare this to Physalis Event Crop last year, which had a growing time of Only 3 Hours BUT is had an Exchange Value of 500 Each Compared to Sunchoke which only has an Exchange Value of pittance 20. Which is Very Disappointing. It is Just Not worth growing any more than 16650 Sunchokes. But the Amount of Physalis needed was only 8800 of them which more or less could be grown in no time at all. Then you could grow any surplus Physalis using CAC and Water donate them into Top 500 Which is Far Better than Growing Sunchoke to Donate into Top 1000, Which is completely pointless to do !!!

    Donating 850,000 Crops Exchange Values

Carnations have Exchange Value of 142 the Highest Crop Value in the Game, Use These if you not not use them for anything else in the Game

Roses has an Exchange Value of 113 Which has the Best EP/HR, They are the cheapest Crop to Buy in the Market they are worth 113 each but can buy them from 50 to 70 CC each as each Market Varies

Do Not Donate any Island Crops As Currently they have good Market value Compared to Main Farm Crops Basis on EP/HR Crop Value

    Donating 750,000 Animals Exchange Values

As you Know that Island Animals have Better Exchange Value compared to Main Farm Animals. None of Island Animals are needed for Breeding to do the Soups and Friends Quest!

    • Parrots 265 Exchange Value
    • Monkeys 408 Exchange Value
    • Elephants 488 Exchange Value
    • Sloths 544 Exchange Value
    • Anacondas 592 Exchange Value
    • Camels 650 Exchange Value
    • Panda 700 Exchange Value
Island Animals are best for Growing to Donate towards Chestnut Festival Cloud Row, Compared to Grow Main Land Animals, if you dont have enough Animal Exchange Values that is needed for Level 2 and Level 5 of this Event Quest.

On Main Farm Animals Only The Rare Animals has the Best Exchange Values. These are not needed to do the Soups and Friends Quest. Thankfully not been unlocked as An Breeding Animals.

    • Dogs 450 Exchange Value
    • Cats 450 Exchange Value
    • Fox 475 Exchange Value
    • Moose 440 Exchange Value
    • Reindeer 440 Exchange Value
Do not Donate any Raccoons as They are selling for very Good Price in the Markets, you could sell these if you have any to spare use the proceeds to buy any of above Animals i have Listed

    Donating 150,000 Fruit Exchange Values

As Always The Island Fruits have higher Fruit Value as Compared to Main Farm Fruits, which is nothing in comparison to Any Rare Fruit Trees on the either the Island or Main Farm in Terms of Exchange Fruit Values.

But those Newer Rare Fruits do sell for good CC. Sell any of these you can spare use the proceeds to buy Highest Exchange Fruit Trees which as Island Fruit Trees as I can only list what i have unlocked so Far

    • Mate 340 Exchange Value
    • Persimmon 320 Exchange Value
    • Jocote Fruit 300 Exchange Value
    • Lychees 280 Exchange Value
    • Kumquats 260 Exchange Value
    • Papayas 240 Exchange Value
    • Avocados 220 Exchange Value
I have Listed These, as they are not needed for Crafting or Little Demand for Anything Else. As Rest of Island Fruit Trees are either have low Exchange Value to Current Market Selling Price or Any Island Fruit Tree have low Exchange Value

On The Main Farm ....Do Not donate Fruits that are needed for Crafting...only to those who do lots of crafting ...Some Rare Main Farm Fruits have have good Exchange Value but it depends on your Market selling Prices

I need to Go out now so will update this posting When i am back ok ;)

    Value for event items:
    • Each sunchoke has a value of 20 for Top 1000 donations
    • Each Chestnut Munchkin has a value of 120 for Top 1000 donations
What this part of the FAQ means?
I read the FAQ today and I am a little terrified with the numbers :p

It means that you have to be in the Top 1000 to get those values for you'r donations...otherwise they are the "standard" exchange value...I copied and pasted a section...hope I did it right...

    * Will leftover event resources be exchanged after the end of the Event?
    Yes!
Each Chestnut Munchkin will be exchanged for 5 EP and 5 CC.
Each Sunchoke will be exchanged for 4 EP and 4 CC.
