About several months ago I became a mentor.
    I then got assigned 3 chickadee's.
Despite messaging them all several times and sending daily gifts I have not heard back from one of them and they are now all in the red.
I have read the FAQ re mentoring and understand that it should not be a language problem.
I applied to be a mentor because I wanted to help new players.
I have been very disappointed with the whole thing so far.
I feel bad deleting the 3 of them but there must be some new players out there that would welcome the help I could give ?
please advise as to what I should do?

Hi Meggan, not a mod, but I am a mentor. :) You'll find that the majority of the chicks you are assigned turn out to be inactive, so they won't progress and any messages will go unanswered. It's a cause of great excitement when I get an active chick in my nest, lol. The way I personally handle it is to send gifts until the love points meter fills up one time, collect the points, then if there has been no sign of activity from that chick, I will delete them and request a new one. Sometimes you get chicks that are already flashing red, just wait the required amount of time and delete them, don't bother sending gifts. Not all chicks like to message, I think they're afraid when someone starts sending messages out of the blue that they don't know, so I always introduce myself and explain that I am their randomly assigned mentor, etc. The active, talkative chick is a great thing, so don't give up, eventually you'll get one and you'll be in mentor heaven. Hope this helps!

    Hello Meggan2010 :)

As spotsbox has stated, it can take time to find an active chick. We cannot offer specific strategic advice but if your chicks have not made any progress in the weeks you've had them, you can replace them without feeling bad. Should they return to the game, they can get a mentor.

    May I assist you further?

Thank you very much Spotsbox - good advice, that was helpful, my highest one got to level 8 but no movement for about 4 weeks now. I will let them go and hope to find a good one soon.
I did introduce myself as you suggested but never got a reply.
many thanks Farmers.Almanac, the replies should help others in the same position as myself,
You may close the thread thanks.
