Connection Issues

    Since Sunday afternoon, I've been experiencing continuing connection problems. While doing any function in the game, a connection error will pop up. Then either I'll be booted out of the game, or will have to refresh the screen. This happens many times an hour, sometimes every minute.

    Tonight I got a message while logging back into the game after being booted out:
    Service Unavailable - Zero size object
    The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.

    Even more frequently than being booted out, I'll be timed out. Sometimes there will be spinning flowers, sometimes not. Both the game and forum are experiencing the disruptions. The situation is becoming worse/more frequent, so decided I'd better report it. All my software is up-to-date and cache's are clean.

    I run many other programs and Bigpoint/Farmerama is the only one experiencing these problems. That leads me to believe it's not my connection to the internet, but Bigpoint server. Thank you for your help.

    Hi mindy1701,
    I frequently have the same issue when I'm using Google Chrome, did you already try to use a different browser? For me this usually solves the issue, as soon as Google Chrome shows signs of loading issues I switch to Internet Explorer....I hope this helps with the issue at hand.....

    Hi Michael,
    I already tried that with several different browsers. It's a normal part of my trouble shooting process. But thanks for your effort on my behalf.

    We have not had any other reports of this error message. The techs are aware of connection issues, but it seems to be random and only affecting certain players / locations, so they cannot explain what the cause may be. Hopefully it will improve itself.

    Hi Neon-Lights,

    I too had hoped the situation would improve by itself, but it's only gotten worse. It is now impacting every aspect of the game, including IGMs with friends and neighbors. I will continue to be patient - even having to refresh 4 times to use the mill once. Thanks for checking things out.

    After the sync that took place less than an hour ago, things were supposed to get slower. Could you let us know if it improves a little bit later, and provide a screenshot of the error message you will see if this happens again? Thank you in advance, and I am sorry for this inconvenience. :(

    Hi Teddy,

    The sync has helped cut down the frequency of disruption. Rather than every few minutes, it's down to every 15 minutes or so. I'm also not getting booted out as often. This is the first time I've been able to get into the forum to give an update. Accessing the game/forum has not improved. I have multiple ways of getting in - none of them is more successful than the others.
    Sorry, I have not been able to capture a screenshot for you. There are 2 primary error messages received. The first happens ingame: a small pop-up box says a connection error has occurred Please check your login connection and log in again. The second appears when trying to access/re-access the game/forum: the full-screen message states
    The connection was reset

    The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

    The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
    If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
    If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

    Try Again

    This is the only program I run that is experiencing the problem. The trouble is not in my internet connection.
    Well, I've been booted out of the game again and cannot get it to reload. I hope this post goes through.

    Thank you very much for all these details. From a few minutes to 15 there isn't much improvement, sadly. We will wait for the Game Team to tell us what other information we can collect, and let you know a little bit later - I apologise for this inconvenience. ​
