Difference Between Barn Value and Exchange Value?

    Do the terms "barn value" and "exchange value" refer to the same amount?

    Hello farmer_broke,

    Yes they both refer to the same thing. In charts you will often see for example: "30000 barn value of breeding animals" that need to be donated. This refers to the actual "Exchange Value" that you will see in your Barn for items.

    Thank you for your assistance. You're an oooooooooooold MOD nooooow and feel very fortunate you are assisting me. And I understand clearly now.

    Why certainly you can.

    Directly under the word "value" in the existing Artisan Products faqs, there is a number for many.

    Now I'm an oooooooooooooold farmer noooooooow and a little slow to understand and I understand
    1. Barn Value is the same as exchange value

    But, is that number under "value" in the Artisan Product faqs the Exchange Value (which I do understand now is the Barn Value)?

    I believe the value refers to Exchange/Barn value. However, up to now, only crafting ingredients and base recipes have an Exchange Value as shown in Barn under "Trade Products". The Value column in the FAQs are probably outdated and need revision :p

    Very sincerely, IMO you have done extremely well in even attempting to address the issue here. My comments to you and other readers:

    You believe huh? I do not.
    uh ohhhhhhhhhhhhh .... that "however" part is just what is keeping many from investing in the products and even purchasing the recipes.
    I do not know however most appear to need adjustment. (I do realize that the whole trade area is not developed.)

    Observation:
    I visited several other forums. There is NO value column or any reference to some "value" for Artisan Products. Therefore a discussion of "values" does not take place.

    You may wish to delete those "values" for Artisan Products in the En Forum Artisan Product faqs just as other forums do not include them. Those "values" have been a mess for years now.

    Unless you have any questions for me then you may close this thread at your convenience. Thanks.
