Drop 'dead' zone!!

*Can someone tell me if there is a somewhat 'dead' zone for drops??* I just harvested my main field, which also has a 4% increase in drops trophy...and all I got for the whole field was 1 drop!!

This is what was harvested: 1 Otter den; 4 Orange chickens and 1 Red chicken; 2 Orange rabbits and 3 yellow rabbits; 1 yellow Frog pond; 1 yellow turkey pen; and 1 Orange paint factory.
Is all this really worth only one drop?? I have a total of only 49 drops!! How am I supposed to even play this Event? I have almost all the other fields open for growing the event crop, lined with a few trees and a few scattered pens...but what good will all these crops do if there are virtually no drops??

It is true that I'm a new farm, only 8 days old....but This is very discouraging, BP.

After harvesting all my main fields and 3 out of 4 Baha fields, I now have 84 drops. (I do not have the Rainforest open yet.)

 

Lily_pink, not a mod here, but to my understanding; fields with long termed crops have better drops than fields with short termed crops, animal pens, or trees. you can deleted you pens temporarily (they will show up in inventory to be put back out for a later time) and put in fields to grow your longest crop you have (water, manure, and super grow will speed up their grow time).
you might also leave a message at the SOS thread to ask for festival star gifts. you can only receive a maximum of 20 gifts per day, but at least it will help. good luck!

 

Thank you for your help, IrisaD. I don't have many pens out, it is mostly in crops - lots 'n lots of 9 hour crops! (Event plant)(ooops - forgot to turn off the italics!) I'm baby farm #5 so cannot use super grow unless I get it from quests, and manure has soared to over 1000 cc's - currently in the 4-500's EACH!! So it's usually water, sometimes w/manure, only....(7hr.12min.for water only) I use the pens I have out to sell the animals to pay for all the water/manure it takes for all these crops, and to continue to grow my farm, since I'm still a new farm, just level 41.

I do get better drops from the crops....so I will take your welcome advice and leave only enough pens to cover the expenses of this event. 'Bye 'bye chickens!! LOL

I'm not a mod but this question really should have been asked in the Strategy Thread. You can find some good advice on drops in a General Event Strategy thread created by SuzeeRabbit (not sure I got the name exact but you can see it in the thread). Just click on the green text to go to it. Also, if you are still under level 40, you should go to the chickadee nest and request a mentor (if you haven't already been assigned one). You can ask your mentor for a daily gift of Super Grow and for general game advice. If the mentor you have is not helpful, you can leave their nest and request a new mentor although it isn't always easy to get a good one.

I'd just like to say Thank You to everyone for your most welcome help! I've removed pens and replaced with event crops - and - what-do-you-know....my drops are up a little more - and every little bit helps!
