Up date on my FSQ farm:

With 61 hours down and 82 hours left I have 13,242 Lilys and 202 shears in my barn.

These results lead me to several conclusions:

    1. The goals for this Event shall be accomplished ahead of time.
    2. I have not had to reconfigure my entire farm to accomplish this task.
    3. My goals of completing FSQs has not been placed on hold, rather the entire farm is still working on that effort.
    4. There's no doubt I would have finished the event sooner had I dedicated the entire farm to the Event effort.
However, the gains I shall make towards completing the FSQs makes up for the slower event effort.

In the end I've proven to myself that events, (at least easy and medium), are doable with out tearing up my farm. I have learned from you fine folks that preparation for the event is everything. So rest assured my farm shall be ready for future events. I was going to list all you Farmers that have helped me by posting in here but, I realized there are so many of you that I would definitely miss at least one or two. So let my just send my heart felt thanks to all of you for the wonderful help you provide.

I am done!:D:music: I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to my wonderful neighbors. :D:inlove::inlove::inlove: I am sooo lucky to have such wonderful people as neighbors!! :inlove::inlove::inlove:

After I finished growing lilies I got good drops growing lilac on the mainland fields and growing sweet potatoes and peanuts on Bahama. I also got some drops from my animal stalls and workshops which I haven't been getting the past couple of days. :) Hopefully that means the drops are picking back up from stalls and workshops.;)
Congratulations to everyone who is finished and good luck to all who are still working away. :D:D:music::music:

EDIT: Since I finished the event I've got shears coming out my ears!:p I'm even getting them for chicken coops! o_O

Done with crops, need 22 drops, which I know I will get easily with overnight crops, so any friends/neighbors who reach me on rotation, please gift those still struggling.;) The hardest part now will be not doing one round of instant carnations because I am impatientxD. Now to put out my prize pens and trees after I harvest some tomatoes...if I can remember by then:p.

Nice discussion about drops going on here - thank you for that:)

I must admit that I usually prepare an event by 1*1 plots growing a long time crop, but sometimes I have mixed it with long time animals and production pens in the Glade.
Using Howies I normally get many drops and I have always thought that a field with 202 plots could yield more event drops than 44 fields + the edges. I have always believed that one field no matter what is on it can only yield 1 event drop per harvest. I know that Mooboy once had more but I have never seen it here.

I don't know if I will ever prepare for an event again (exception is Monkey queen like events where my outcome of the event depends on my drops), but if so, I think I will only look at what I need to do in order to build stock rather than do the longest base time crop/pen just because it is the longest.

I know newer players don't have that privilege and therefore just have to put out whatever the longest crop/pen is - but maybe more important is to keep the farm working!

I did not do any preparation prior to this event at all and no Howies used. I now need 2 more drops and about 5k of event crops to finish.
In the daytime I had chickens running all over mainland and growing carrots when RL allowed it. During night I produced longer time animals (10-13 hours base time). I have gotten drops from everything - even carrots. My farm has been productive during the entire event and I think that is why I do so well on drops mostly doing short time crops/animals.

Congratulations to those finished and good luck to the rest - I hope you get what you desire :)
    Edit: spelling

I just tried Mooboys carrot theory and it works. See thread #113. I still need 57 pruning shears and 8385 crops to go. I've been playing it slow, with my stalls and trees all there. I'll take some down if I need to, when it gets closer. I'm planting roses for my overnight now.
Thank you for the great advice. Happy Easter! :inlove::)

I actually got two pairs of real shears in the shed
But getting them inside my laptop?- fills me with dread
xDDavid you got me laughing so much. Great poem.

I too vote harester gives more and I tested on all 3 plot formations it makes the biggest difference on 1×1 & 1×2. I have finished event on both farms. Planted event crop on all 5 fields and carnation overnight. One day when poo went really high did chicken pens for about 8 hours with event crop around sides and on baha. Even did blueberries one night because I missed some harvest times. With this event seemed to get 3-6 drops per event harvest from carnation 5-9 drops, chicken 1-2. Good luck everyone. Oh and I do have carnation refinement of water so it makes carnation grow at 13 hours.

That's called double bonanza ! [IMG] Congrats Willow.

Got all the drops. Might finish tomorrow. Thanks to everyone. Did lots of strategies in this game : both for the event & also for the market. Chicken & carrot did wonders. So did manure.
An overnight crop of carnation in comfort fields with refinements and supergrows gave me lots of drops.

David ! How do you ever write poems and do the event and marketing too.

Between this event and the last event... it's blatantly obvious they're doings thing with the Drop Rate Algorithm. For years Aluntino, and others I think, have said that they thought the drop rate was adjusted for each event. I didn't see it. Primarily because I tend to revert to lazy farming once I get everything needed for an event and chronic, and major, health problems interfere with playing sometimes. No doubt about it now. Who knows what other changes they have in store for us... What I was referring to in an earlier post... wasn't the percentage of drops that Poppyseed mentioned. But... that they really are using the the total number of drops required to complete an event as a variable in the equation. For Monkey Queen the variable was really high number for Feather Collectors it's a super low number. It was so blatantly obvious... that I didn't see it. LOL!

I finished all of the crops yesterday afternoon. I grew 3 round of event crops, on three fields, during the day and "refined", watered red roses at night. I started the event same as last event with two fields of trees, and thru out the event, and three fields of carnations. I don't care if I can't make money selling carnations. I don't go to the market but maybe... once a month, at most.
I still needed some drops yesterday. Even tho it wasn't even 3p... I planted "refined" watered carnations, that would be ready around 4a, and logged out. Turns out... I wasted the water because I didn't bother login until after 7a.
Event Complete. Back to lazy farming for me.

As I've said numerous times before...
In the same 36h I can grow "refined" carnations w/ CR and water, 3 rounds. If I use alchemist products... even faster (one more round?). My median drop count for a field of carnations was around 5-10 drops per harvest. 5-10 * 3= 15-30 drops in same 36h, per field. If I remember correctly the only way to speed up a Jumbo Tree is... Tree mulch? Too precious for me to waste when there are better alternatives. One might get 30 drops from a field of Jumbo Trees. But... I don't have 44 of them. And 36h anything, during an event, that isn't reduced to at least half that time... Not for me! Or... some are reporting one drop per field of carrots. IF that is consistent... 36h * 6 harvest per hour = 216 harvest or MAYBE 216 DROPS. Like I say every time... I'd rather plant a long crop and take a break from the game. I have better things to do with my time than sit around and harvest imaginary crops every 10 mins. Besides all that sitting is bad for one's health.
Anybody that is WORRIED about EP/CC/drops... Why would you let the crop/trees/critters sit there unharvested. You're leaving "money" on the table. Unharvested crops/trees/critters only have potential... but nothing you can bank on. Harvest as quickly as possible and get ready to harvest more! As described here:

    https://board-en.farmerama.com/index.php?threads/general-event-strategies.10970/

Do whatever works for you. But, I doubt that using the machinery makes a difference. If it does, it would be a way of paying back players who pay-to-play. For me the goal was always get enough drops before the event was over with the least amount of effort. I don't usually care if it doesn't happen until the last day.
Yep! That's what I keep telling them but they keep asking the same questions over and over... LOL!
That is definitely one of the key factors.

It took me an hour to write this and I need to move on with my day.

    HAPPY EASTER! y'all!

Finished at last! Got the last of my drops just now from 2 1/2 fields of canola. Decided to grow something I needed rather than carnations, as still had plenty of time to get drops. CR's up and earning, AND I remembered to put out my 13 Cygnus wonder stables and the Yukon trees before I went to bed. Nothing exciting from the trees, but got my first swan:inlove:, and a lovely pink ostrich!!!:D:inlove::D They're performing swan lake next to the swan pen in my meadow even as we speak;).

bearbabe's waiting on 44 drops only, crops are finished. Did well overnight with crop squares, will be gone most of the day so put out hazelnuts and a field of oyster mushrooms (hit the wrong button:pxD). Should finish by tomorrow morning, I'm guessing.

Congratulations to those who have finished finding all the eggs, and for those still going, remember, P for Perseverance:).

    HAPPY EASTER![IMG]

Of all things weird, I finished on SadieBAW, 9 drops left over. I need 5 drops for baw815. Yesterday the drops difference was close to 30. I always do get better drops with baw815 than SadieBAW. I would like to understand why the difference, but I know because of the randomness of drops it will be neigh to impossible to figure out. In all honesty, I have better things to do with my time anyway, like RL. ;)

So far I've managed to stick with my laid back no panic strategy for this event...even left 1 field in chickens to ride the chicken/poo gravy train. Whew who could imagine people would pay that much for poo:wuerg:

Just finished with the event crops and now the wait for the last 63 drops begins. Pours big glass of wine to ease the vigilxD

:)Will be harvesting my final event crop shortly; then back to regular farming. Glad I took a leisurely path on this event, which included nice profits from poo!;) Stables are out, and fingers crossed for something nice! Congrats to all finished, and best of luck to those still at work - there is plenty of time left.
