Will be remembering you at this very difficult time gaura; so very sorry! Blessings to you.

Especially liked the early prizes of harvester coupon and CAC, which would really benefit newer players. The prizes were nice and EP prizes good. Very pleased with the CC cloud row.

Drops were difficult, but not impossible. Did not like the magic tree being exempted from drops, because that is a change from the stated values of the tree.

On the whole, a nice event.

Enjoyed the slower pace of this event, especially since we've had so many back to back recently. Liked that we were mostly required to donate low level, easily replaced crops and only chickens for animals, no colored breeders or specialty animals. The low amount of drops required should have been an indication that rates would be lower this time, so why complain about it. Other than initial set up for the start of the event, I did nothing special with this event - didn't tear out my trees (even tho they didn't drop well), didn't devise a complex strategy, mainly grew event crops until had enough, and didn't worry about it. Still got enough drops easily to finish. I think the giveaways (party tickets, Baha trees, giver item, cloud row), were a nice touch, and very thoughtful. Yes, it took a while to get enough shears to be able to progress, but really, if we could finish instantaneously, wouldn't that also be cause to complain and label an event boring? If it's not the least bit challenging, where's the fun in it? I think the devs wanted to give us something to do to celebrate the holiday, while taking into consideration that many of us would be busy with family and other things this weekend, so they made it easy even if a little slow. Maybe we should enjoy the break, I have a feeling it will be back to the hectic pace very soon;).

As for magic trees, I have 13. 12 are on Baha, one on mainland. All were received from secret seedlings before they were removed from being available there. I didn't miss them at all during the event. That being said, I have voiced concern elsewhere about whether the trees would no longer garner event drops in the future. My concern has very little to do with the "unfair" advantage of getting guaranteed drops, I can't think of any event in recent history that I couldn't have finished without them. What causes me to take pause is that, if this is the case, that they will no longer provide the boost they were designed and marketed as having, then people who spent real money to buy the seedlings in hopes of getting one or more are being cheated. They specifically purchased the seedlings because they wanted this specific tree, which gave this specific benefit, and they paid real money to get them. How is it fair to now come back and say, well, lower level farmers who didn't have a chance to win them think it's unfair, and since we already have the money we made from them, what the hay, we'll just take the "magic" out of magic trees. I'm not in any way knocking those of you who don't have them and don't currently have the option to get them. I well remember struggling to progress in the early stages of my time here. But I understood that it WOULD take time, and I couldn't possibly have all the advantages someone who'd been playing 2 years longer would have. Once Howies are removed from Renzo's, should they lose their benefit because not everyone can get one? Keep in mind, before they were put in Renzo's shop, the only way to get them was a chance of receiving one if you bought a specific size BB package. Should I not get the EP bonus from my dragon pet because it's not available at the fair anymore? If magic trees stop being magic trees, this would be the SECOND time something has been specifically marketed and sold as providing a specific benefit, reaping who knows how much real money for the game makers, only to have them turn around after all is said and done and change the benefit to something that wasn't what people paid their money for (the first being the mill buff CR). It's like being promised an apple, PAYING for an apple, being given an apple, then being told, no, we changed our minds, you can't have the apple, you have to take an orange instead, give us back the apple. This is what concerns me, and what should concern all of us. Bickering amongst ourselves doesn't address the issue, it only leaches enjoyment from the game for everyone.8)

Please reconsider your reaction to his thievery. Don't allow his nefarious actions to ruin a good thing for you. His actions are just that, HIS actions, not yours. I share your situation and can honestly say my son will not ruin my life as he has his. I pray for you and yours.

gaura, you can't delete your account. I had to leave the game suddenly a few months ago, and did not think I would return. I also asked to have my account deleted, only to discover that it can't be. What will happen is if you don't log in for 30 days, I think it is, it will go inactive. But you will be able to log in and still have all you've worked for there and waiting for you if, like me, you are able to return at a future date (except neighbors, you'll need to get new ones, as you will drop off their lists once your therm drops below blinking red). Hope to see you around when RL allows it again.

I actually was cured of my Farmerama Obsessive Compulsive Disorder a couple of events ago. For quite a while, comments have been made about the horrible event drop rates and it seems that the developers do more and more to make them worse! and now no event drops from magic trees!!!! I refuse to be tied to my computer to just finish an event.

Another thing that I noticed over some of the last few events is that the event drops are more expensive. In the past they were ALWAYS 2 BB. I used to send extra to neighbors all the time (YES, I was spending real money to do this!!!) Now at 6 BB for one, it's just too expensive to do that. So, now I will be spending less and less on the game. Did you hear that BP? Making things more expensive means, at least for this player, spending LESS real money on the game.

Get your act together BP or whoever you are now (with the recent acquisition). Right now, the only thing that keeps me tied to the game are my neighbors. I'm spending less and less time on this game. . . .

I rather enjoyed this event. At first I thought the drop rate was pathetic, but as I plodded along I realized that it was really quite reasonable considering the amount required to complete the event.

I especially appreciated the CAC and harvester coupon placed where they could easily be acquired. I don't get too excited about the graphics being exciting, or not. That is not why I play this game and I think over-all the graphics are exceptional.

I really appreciate the cloud row giving CCs. It will really help lower level players who are trying to build up their bank account and it won't hurt the veteran players. I don't think anyone would turn down free money.

I can totally understand the long time players being upset about the lack of drops from their magic trees. In my opinion the fairest way to handle the situation is to make the magic trees available again. They would be wonderful rewards for events. It seems to me the wonder trees have ceased to be very wonderful, for the most part. Once in awhile a rare tree will pop up, but most are just more of what we already have. At the same time, I do not like to complain about something I am getting for free, if I don't consider the time I put into the event to get the wonder trees.

I enjoyed having an event where we didn't have to mill anything. I am concerned about the number of event crops that are being required lately. As a manual farmer I am running out of harvester coupons and FSQs to get the harvesters. Clicking on 600 1x1 plots is not appealing to me at all and is probably the point where I will cease doing events.

Guara, my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine your pain right now:cry:don't give up, hopefully, one day soon the sun will shine for you and your family

I thought this event was nice, not overly challenging (just my own impatience for the drops) and the items needed were very reasonable. A big THANK YOU to all my neighbours who sent me regular gifts. I especially loved the lillies :inlove: my personal favourite flower, I'd love to keep them. Overall, the drops weren't really that bad, I didn't find a combination that really excelled the drop rate but the advice and tips from fellow farmers on the forum helped a lot. Thanks to everyone who gave their nuggets of help, you make a great game better :inlove:

spots, well put! I don't have any magic trees (or the CR you speak of). I don't begrudge those that have them. I begrudge the fact that BP doesn't make them available to newer players. I've struggled to get my farm up to the point where I can complete events. I'm still working on the last two levels of the animal trophy. It isn't easy. I'm not asking that it be easy, but shouldn't I have the chance to earn some of the goodies in the game? Even if it takes lots of time and effort on my part? Put them at the end of an FSQ, have me spends lots of stars on the Tree of Wisdom for them. But make them available.

I found this event boring. I don't mind the lowering of the drop rate, but with 15000 crops to be grown it was just silly. The prizes were okay and the squares where we didn't have to donate anything were a nice touch. I HATE that the magic trees did not live up to their FAQ; this is not right - I spent BB to get one as they were a mystery seedling and very hard to get and the other I think I got in an event (so I worked hard to get it). It's only 2 drops a day but it makes a difference.

I liked the event. The event crop is beautiful and the prizes were very nice. The drop rate did not bother me. Different event challenges make for different strategies. However, with crop intensive events like this one and the last one, and events with one a day or two in between, it lends itself to 'event fatigue' (for me). It is the one reason I believe farmers are so anxious to finish an event early so there is some time to go back to normal farming to pursue other farming goals. Real life required my attention on the last event so I did not finish until the final hours so I was not really looking forward to another event so soon.

The event did have some nice prizes early in the requirements for even young farms that may not be able to complete it all.

The magic tree should not have been excluded from dropping event drops. That was, IMHO, a poor decision. I don't understand the thought process behind that decision. If it truly was, as has been suggested, a way to 'even the odds' and make things more fair between different levels of players, it will not overcome the inherent discrepancies between low, midlevel and high level players as designed by the game. Other factors such as longer crops, trees, and stables that come with increasing levels, trophy percentages that are higher with more established farms, and access to buffs either in market or production are things that we all have had to work towards and these 'bonuses' come with dedication and persistence to our farms/the game. Comparing farms that may be years old to young farms that are a few weeks or months old is not productive. All established farmers that I know are willing to share their wisdom to help others, as well as gift either event drops or crafted items to help younger farmers succeed in their goals. I am fortunate to have very thoughtful, caring and generous friends/neighbors.

The magic trees are helpful with event drops but with only a few on my farm and none of the other 2 farms, they are no longer essential for me to complete an event but it was disappointing that its special property of event drops was removed for this event and I do hope it will be restored to its original function.

The wife and I completed our events yesterday, early. (Like in the oh-dark-thirty early) Then we got on with the days festivities and I completely forgot to post the deed done in here. (shame on me ):(

A side note: I have 76 drops (and growing) left over. I purchased none. Only gleaned from harvesting. After all the hubbub about slow drops I still came out to the good. So I count myself very fortunate on that note.

Magic Trees - A wonderful item which if you have it should be a plus. However, the way BP treated them this time around is terrible. I never got one. I do not begrudge those who did. But for the devs to take away the one thing which make those trees so desirable is criminal! These Farmers had to work hard to get those trees. Or pay darn good money for them. To take away the one function which made them so had to have boggles my mind. IMHO BP folks should be ashamed of themselves. They advertised one thing. Got the money they wanted. Then took the thing back. Wrong! SHAME ON YOU!-.-

    Here are my final thoughts:
    Like
    Squares with nothing to donate
A cloud row that gives a good amount of cc a day
    Easter lilies are beautiful

    Dislike
The magic tree issue - I've said my piece
Low drop rate made it boring having to wait
A cloud row with a 14 hr cooldown.
    Loads of crops again.

I liked the way the game was set---in a maze and how u needed certain things to open them

Very disappointed in the drop rate...barely any drops when u plant the event product??? Not cool

my other issue the magic trees...the game/set up clearly is a contradiction of having those trees. Is this going to become a habit where BP will decide & change over and over the rules for the trees.

While the drop rate for pruning shears could be higher, I like the event. As a more casual farmer it is very doable, and I like the 5 hour growing time. I also like that nothing has to be milled, and that the requests for the non-event crops are not excessive. Happy Spring, everyone!

I waited until I finished to reply. I really had no problems with this event other than the magic tree issue which seems to have been thoroughly discussed at this point. However, since the number of drops required to finish the task was so low for the number of days allowed to finish, it wasn't really a problem at all. Overall, a nice relaxing event with obtainable goals and some nice prizes. Loving the 12000 cc cloud row.

  19. Gaura, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I haven't and won't finish this event, I have one field of lilies on Baha, which have produced zero shears. Fortunately, in complete contradiction of the FAQ
    • There will be an event drop:
    Pruning Shears
    [IMG]
You will get these drops when harvesting your fields

I have received about 25 shears from each of my other fields which have no crops; I prefer to farm only trees and animals, with a few plots on one Baha field. I do not know if other have noticed this, but I did not mention it before a I did not wish to have my only source of shears removed. Now I have sufficient and more, I thought it worth a comment.

As for whether magic trees should yield the drops; merely, so that some low level players don't feel disadvantaged - this seems a rather spurious reason and why shouldn't high level players keep what they've paid for or earned. I, like one or two others, have been playing since 2010, at that time, we managed with one main field and the meadow. We had to earn our way to the island, with Susi's flying hours (also known as Susi super grow - given with each level achieved) there was no other way. If you accidentally used them on plots, we had to wait another level to gain more; usually it was level 55 before you got there.

New players have lots of advantages that those who have been here virtually since the start and worked their way to the mid 90s, as I have, didn't have. There was no Glade, there was no Craft Village and no extra boosters; manure was needed on the fields to stop the rain (which came without warning periodically) destroying crops. If your neighbours dropped below 12, you lost part(s) of your meadow, and yes the crops were lost, thought the animals and trees went into inventory. You then had to find new ones to clear the meadow of scrub to enable you to plant anything again. Many things have changed over the years and just because you think you deserve something doesn't mean you do.

The way I see it and the reason I don't worry if I just potter through an event is that there will be another one along in a day or so. It will be similar to one of those that have gone before, it will have some prizes worth having, but usually nothing that I can't forgo.

I do find this high event crop requirement to be a drawback and frankly 'yet another cloud' isn't something I'm excited about. Nor are the mystery trees and mystery pens - which only produce pens or workshops or trees to go into my inventory.

However, I do think if you make an announcement in the FAQ, at the very least get it right. And, if you sell a tree that is promised to have drops during an event, don't renege on that promise at some future date, for some obscure reasoning which is never explained. It merely leads to speculation and I'm not sure if anyone actually knows for sure why this 'drop' was removed from this event, or whether it is going to be permanent.

There have been events, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, this wasn't one of them.

That said, I think it must be quite difficult to keep coming up with ways to keep players entertained; but, this constant merry-go-round of events and mini events can get quite samey. Perhaps they should go back to how it used to be, where we had maybe one or two events a month and long periods where we just farmed.

Or maybe I'm just one of those who thinks I'm playing a farming game with additions, instead of a farm tacked on to events.

Liked this event. The rewards were decent. It was easy for me to finish, but I have 3 (now 4, thanks to G & T) howie donuts. and a cloud row that boosts drops, so that might not be indicative. That said, it does seem as if folks are finishing OK, even newer players (the very newest will always have issues... but then they grow and catch up to the rest).

One point. You put a rather high demand for drops before the last demand for crops, etc. That means players will continue, and continue to get drops even after meeting all the drop requirements. It might be less frustrating if the drop requirement were the last event-specific request. That is, request for non-event crops and things can come at any point, but it seems as if the request for drops should come after the request for crops? (or have them one right after the other) Just a thought....
