We have had a lot of event crops. They are nice, but what about an occasional event animal.. just for something different. It would work similar to the crops, just be a special animal instead of crop. (basically a visual/count change). The recent workshop event was somewhat similar to what I am suggesting, except that required us to make pens.

The trick would be the reproducible bit. Maybe it could be a virus that is bred or some kind of alien invasion/zombie spawn or some such that spreads, much like crops do, so that you could harvest the animals and/or have "seeds" to replant. OR you could use something like the previous baby animal mechanism.. either have them spawned off breeding or "just appearing" in the pens. (that might be a fun story line... some magical or alien or other creature is leaving babies in the pens, its up to us to raise them up.....)

    Anyway.. just a thought.

Remember the plumes from the Ocean Day event? If I remember correctly we needed the plumes to mill the items we turned in. Although I also remember having to give up a lot of tools to build the pens to produce the plumes. Might not be a popular option if we have to build all the pens to produce the animals. I do like your alien invasion story line though. :)

Agreed, I was definitely not looking for anything making us create pens, just an occasional alternative to the crops.

If its an alien, it would need to come complete with its own hatching/growing facility (i.e. pen). I am thinking of something that would work like seeds, but just be an animal pen. It would take more room, but no workshop creation.

I like your idea too woody...something different. We've had temporary event pens before (remember the sail shop and the mustache salons?) that we used during the event but then turned back in at event's end. I have enough tools if we are asked to build something but in order to make it so that all could participate, I would prefer that BP gives us 'starter' pens like we get starter seeds.

I absolutely loved the plume pools and would like to see another event along those lines. But I do agree with Pnp that they should give us some 'starter' pens as not all farmers have extra tools.

I guess I have no problem with occasionally offering the "build it" pen/workshop events (yep, I definitely remember both the plume pools and the original temporary mustache salons). I am just suggesting something different. I am not to happy with BP right now, but c'est la vie. Variety is what makes this game fun.

EDIT: How's this for a potential story line?

"Aliens, too lazy to grow their own children are looking for ready volunteers. Look for special capsules (special pens) all ready to grow alien babies. Rewards are offered." These capsules (pens) could be "dropped" into any and all pens/workshops or just specific ones. There could be an event crop that would be food for the capsules, or the capsules could be "self-feeding", generate their own feed.

Zombies would require a different type story line. I will probably think of something in a bit, but anybody else have ideas?
