    obviously I am not the only person that is having the issue of the timer going missing and step 2 opening up...

    Hello pixie13, :(

    This problem should have been already fixed, but some players might still be affected. The Team ran several scripts for fixing the issues with the first event room, but could still be experiencing some problems. Another script will run in the morning, as explained in this Official Announcement.

    So I am just supposed to wait until tomorrow morning and see if that script helps? Because it has not been fixed so far on my end.

    I am afraid so. You can try finishing the event step before the script runs, but we don't know yet when will the script run.
