FAQ "Linking your account to Bigpoint portal" incorrect?

    Hi,

    I just registered an account at Bigpoint too and I wanted to add Farmerama to it as suggested in the {FAQ} Linking your Account to Bigpoint Portal. But unfortunately this didn't work. I don't see an option "Add game" (anymore?) but only the Gamefinder option. The gamefinder does give Farmerama, but makes a new account for me at Farmerama. I don't want that.

    Am I doing something wrong or have things changed and is the FAQ out of date?

    Hi Sheriziya,

    I had the same problem and found a solution.
    1. Go to farmerama.bigpoint.com
    2. Put in your username
    3. Click the "Forgot your password?" link right under your username
    4. This opens a page requiring your Username and the Captcha Code at Bigpoint
    5. Click the "Next" button and check your email
    6. Follow the link in the email to change (or keep) your password
    7. Click the "Next" button and then check your email again
    8. Follow the link to verify your New Password

    And voila! Problem solved! You can now login via farmerama.bigpoint.com

    This doesn't help. I'm trying to connect the account here at Farmerama to the account at the Bigpoint site. From the above linked FAQ I understand I should be able to add my game there, but I can't. The system still doesn't recognize I already have a Farmerama account and I see no option to login like described in the FAQ.

    Hello Sheriziya :)

    Unfortunately this feature is not available at the moment, it has been disabled quite a few months ago due to technical reasons, so you will not be able to link existing game accounts to a portal account, I am really sorry. The only way to do it is the other way around - create one Bigpoint portal account, then start joining our games, and they will all be linked under the same portal account.

    I have updated the FAQ and added a note mentioning that the feature cannot be accessed at the moment, I apologise for this confusion.

    Ah. That explains it. Thanks for the explanation, Teddy! Oh, well, in that case I simply keep this account and don't link other accounts.
