May we please have a section in the Users/Game area to place very helpful, player written strategy items like Mooboys and Arrouquelas's refinement files, Mir85's suggestions for maximizing yield for full moon mania and Baha, and the general event strategy by SuzeeRabbit?
    Thank you :)

All these players have helped all of us with their strategies(and not only them!)
    I think it's a great idea d5aisy;)

I agree. There should be a process, maybe mod oversight, maybe a large vote, or ??? (an idea someone else thinks up), but yeah... I would love that refinement thread to be a sticky or even to be put in its own forum/subforum. (user suggestions) There are other threads like that.

Agreed - some very useful threads, would be nice to have them in one place and safe from archiving.

You already do - Game Strategy Discussion
It was agreed as part of the new forum, that no strategy thread was more important than any other, therefore nothing is stickied.

Threads that are applicable to certain events are archived, but general threads of importance do no get archived.

Decisions can be changed. If enough people want this, why not? (note.. 4-5 people posting here does not constitute "enough", I realize)

The truth is that all threads are not alike. A couple of posters have taken a lot of time to collate and collect the information on refinements, etc.

An alternative would be to encorporate some of this information in the FAQs, in a similar easy to access and understand format.

Thank you for your consideration. I realize I am asking you to change the rules of the forum. But the current rules of the forum do not serve the players. I have cited numerous examples of work that players wrote to help other players out that was just not available.
What I am asking for is to let us decide what threads we want to write and keep in our own section.
I am not asking to change to rules anywhere else, just to let us have our own section that we can run as we choose. We could then decide what we want to keep as permanent files, for the benefit of all the players interested in strategy.
The current set up is insufficient and it would be helpful to change it to benefit the players interested in game strategy.

I think the mods have to be impartial. In the old forum a bit too many threads got stickied (in my opinion), but the mods can't really say yes to some and deny others

I have thought of something we could do ourselves though :) When there is a new event the first post of the strategy thread should contain some useful info about the event, but it could also have a list of useful guides and strategy threads. A lot of the post would be standard, and could just be copied for the next event. Then whoever posts it could fill out the relevant info for the new event, like the total event requirements, link to FAQ, SOS thread and so on.

If you think it is a good idea, I can make one before the next event :)

the simplest way to stop them getting buried it to stop filling that section with....errrmm..junk -.-

I like the idea! And if someone else creates a strategy thread first, he/she should edit his post to add anything he missed or didn't know it before.
