Farm/forum name inspiration?

Red hair runs in both sides of my family, mom and father's, tho I'm the only one of 4 siblings who has it. My mom had auburn hair, which is reddish brown, and my grandma (her mom) had red hair. It's strange looking at pictures of my grandma in her 20s and 30s, it's like looking at myself, lol - I look just like her. My sister used to try and convince me I was adopted, but all I had to do was look at grandma's pictures and I knew I wasn't . I also have a cousin who's a couple years younger than me, and we could pass for twins. I remember when I was young, looking at photos of her and her family and asking my mom who that strange family was I was with . As far as weird, well...I prefer the word...special.

dgirl is what my dad called me the game tacked on the 200 but that is ok it sounds good

oldmcdonald I know what you are saying we also have a Jack Russell and he does the same thing he also makes his smile really big if you say show me the teeth it is really funny

 

penguilnz - yes, of course I put farmer in front and umf is my special bit added. We do live on a farm in real life although we do not have any animals, but the farmer next door uses some of our fields for his cattle and cuts the fields for hay.

spotsbox - red hair runs in my hubby's family. Hubby used to have a beard that was red although his main hair was brown - now rather sparse and grey and his beard is grey too. Our eldest granddaughter has the most beautiful red curly hair and fortunately she loves it although she was teased at school.
Someone of the TV said the other day that she was called Carrot Top as a child and her response was that carrot tops are actually green! Nice one.

 

My wife has red hair (and the temper to go with it ). When her hair was longer she had it straightened and got referred to as Bianca (from BBC Eastenders). Personally I think she is more like Erin Brocovich . She got badly teased at school over her hair.

I used to go to school with a boy who was know as Duracell (like the batteries) and work with an angry bloke named the Ginger Ninja

 

Ariel is the mermaid I have in my profile picture and in my signature. She is the youngest and seventh daughter of King Triton and Queen Athena, rulers of Atlantica so she is a princess. Ariel is often rebellious, she won't obey her father's rules, she is curious and her curiosity often leads her into dangerous situations. She also likes to collect things from the human world and she has also been a human and married a human prince. There are 3 Disney films about her but her character has been used in TV shows, books...

farmerumf and Jools why would they tease them?(well I can guess as I know how some children in school behave) I think they are jealous of them. In my school they were 3 girls with red hair(different shade each) but no one teased them about their hair color.

Great thread idea, oldmcdonald! My farm and forum name (same) is nothing special, really. I've used different variations of salty for years online. It originated from me eating something salty one day while trying to come up with a nickname on a site I was registering an account at (can't remember what, a game or forum perhaps). Tacked on pixel because just salty is usually taken and therefore a suffix is often needed, and I thought this particular one fitting for a browser game.

 

Awww, thank you! My husband likes to tease me (in a cute way, not mean) about how redheads come from defective (recessive) genes, I smile and say I'm unique. I read that only 1 to 2% of people have red hair, and also that it's a gene that seems to be dying out, so we really are an endangered species. People tease redheads because they tease anyone who is different, and it isn't limited to children, either, unfortunately. I personally would find living in a world where everyone was the same to be very boring. As for the temper, well...um......I think I got a double whammy, being red haired and of German/Irish decent, because I definitely have the temper to match.

 

My forum/farm name comes from a very special place to me, where I lived for many years. I've used this name on the net for about 15 years and it is good cos' it is never taken!

oldmcdonald I was thee only girl with 5 brothers for 14 years then got a sister. They started calling me Dondo and my uncle Donald dondon't I was not happy and kept saying I'm a girl! that's when dad started calling me his little dgirl

 

Hi oldmcdonald or anybody else that would like to know.
RN means Registered Nurse I worked in Pediatrics ( meaning working with children) .
We had many sad days so if I could stay Happy it made the day brighter for them.
"GOD" gave me the strength to do this each day.

@penguilnz Yes I had a very good time with my horse ! She was Arab, PasoFino and an awsome trail horse. Belonged to a saddle club and we would go on 4 hour trail rides. It was so much fun. Sure do miss those days I have a bad back so can not ride anymore.
