I'm always reluctant to pull up my menageries, manufactories and arboretums...but everything may have to go this time around.

PS - I see Ingrid's coming soon! yay. I think. maybe. I just have to remember to turn the sound way down if it's the singing one. DH has issues with it.

I always use 1x1 fields and don't have the Trophies to move around ... finished that ages ago
Have been playing since 2010 ...so should have done by now xD
Will take some of the trees out that might help
I put refined carnations in last night and rose hips they have helped a little and using harvest coupons
Thank you Julie ...didn't get the menagerie ...I like seeing my animals out on the fields... I have the Arboretums
Aww Ingrid ..like her events ;) her singing :wuerg: lol
Put some more rose hips in and now have 441

okey dokey... I received 289 drops off spelt and sewinglady received 332 drops from turnips this morning. I only got 11 when I harvested XXL trees a few minutes later - so 12 hour trees are not where the drops are. Trees may have to go for the remainder of this event.

edited to fix my grammar...need moar coffee.

Editting for a second time...because Nellie! The menageries and manufactories are a must as far as I'm concerned - when you can have at least 4 pens in the place of 1 or better yet, 6 or 8!?!?! Holy cow I love those menageries and manufactories. In fact, I wouldn't use workshops at all if it weren't for them.

Have enough stars for one of them ...which is the best to have ?
Okay think I will go for manufactory
And save the stars for the other one

I think these events are geared toward the higher players more often than not (or basket buys)-- this one certainly is. I wish medium difficulty would actually mean medium so some of us mid-level players could win a cloud row or two.

I don't have rosehips, carnations, etc. because I'm not at a level to open them. I haven't finished my trophies and I haven't obtained enough stars yet to open the LL. I can't make CAC even if I wanted to at this point -- but I've received some for this time around from some very generous people here (thank you! :inlove:). Other enhancements are limited at mid-level.

I was pretty eager for this event -- I thought with some precious CAC in my inventory (and 1x1s), I could make it this time -- I can already see that won't happen. I could probably make it if it wasn't for the drop rates. I don't know if this event just has a crazy drop requirement compared to others, or if this is the norm (since I've never managed to complete an event). I like the gifts I do win, but it costs a lot at my level for what I get. A CR lives on and on, always giving - that is worth the super-grow, etc. spent. ;)

After this one, I may sit out of events for a bit. Work on my trophy, etc. I do love participating, so it's hard not to when a new one appears -- but it's quite frustrating too. It will be interesting to see how far I can get on this one, but I find the drop requirements unbelievable -- and without a maxed trophy, I can see the CRs are just that for me -- in the clouds.

p.s. with all that said, I do love Halloween -- so that one may be hard to resist. But at some point, I do need to just step away from them for a bit. I'll have to see what October brings. BOO!

874 drops total so far, managed to do a round of rosehips yesterday while getting seeds going, with water, poo, SG, and buffs active only took 2 hours 45 minutes, so bumped up drop total nicely. :music: Also did carnations overnight, so total from them was 296 + 45 from trees and 13 from magic trees, for total of 354 so far today. If can keep up current rate, I should be okay on this farm.:) Will be awake and active all day, so hoping to get at least 3 harvests of event crops (gonna be busy, busy, busy!), but will be gone a good portion of tomorrow, and maybe Sunday, too, and not sure if I'll be able to harvest by phone or not.:( Oh well, I'll just keep plugging away.

Nellie, my own personal choice would be the menagerie, I like being able to put multiples of one animal, say 4 otters, in one 4x4. Keep in mind that there's speculation we'll be needing stars in the not too distant future. ;)

jazzy, I well remember the frustration you're experiencing. It's difficult to feel good about the game when you try as hard as you can, but still can't complete events.:sleepy: I can only offer encouragement, and say that eventually you will get there. 2 of my 3 farms can't make CAC, so they buy all they use from the market. Prices are ridiculously high, but watch for better deals in between growing events, when prices drop a little. Also, in events where CAC is a prize, you can sometimes snag some great deals because people will sell what they win. I make CCs selling other things (on mini me farm I sell chickens, lots of chickens, lol), so I can afford to buy the buffs I use most - CAC, Pinkie Pie, and White Innocence. I think most of us were in the high 70 levels before we started completing events with regularity, so it will happen, it just takes time. Biggest piece of advice I'd give is enjoy your game. Don't get so stressed by events that you totally lose any joy the farm gives you. My smallest farm has absolutely no chance of completing the event (about 200 drops so far xD), but I'm participating anyway to get a few goodies. And if I wasn't participating, I'd be selling poo and whatever's needed for donations to buy CAC for future events I will want to take part in. Do keep working on your trophies, they're a pain, but they do help. And once you reach carnations and have developed a bit of stock, start working on refinements, you can get killer drops from instant carnations once you have all the right refinements. And yes, it does seem like a lot of events lately that are labeled medium should be hard. Take heart in knowing even high level players (I'm 98 ) still struggle on some of these events. :p

I also still struggle at times ....so you aren't a lone Jazzy ;) the more we play them the more knowledge we get on dealing with them
By reading the things other people are doing xD And I am at level 98
Hmm AND we need more stars :D....Wonders what for

Spots gives good advice. It does take time to develop your farm and all the right 'ingredients' for a 'finishing event' strategy. I would encourage players to be patient while you are working on your farms to build stock, have excess for sale to purchase other things needed, gaining stars, and gaining levels that will open up new things to help (long crops).

You can go back through the event calendars and see that there are always plenty of events to do so no need to worry if you don't finish now. Your park and shipwreck bay need givers for your daily EP/TEP so try not to fret over missing a cloud row.

Skipping some events will actually allow you to be able to finish events much faster as you will be building the capacity (stars, trophies, etc) which to make your farm successful in completing events. Try to enjoy the prizes you do get and not be too worried about the rest. We all hate to see players get frustrated and leave. Hang in there.....it will happen if you keep trying.

Pnp - finished step 8 on Main progress bar.
    BW- finished step 7
    3rd farm- finished step 7

I planted long crops last night but will be short drops to continue until tomorrow's first morning harvest.

Thanks, pups -- that's what I was thinking too. Taking time to finish other things before events.

And thank you spots and Nellie for the encouragement. Please know I'm a pretty patient player -- I think my frustration lies in the fact that I picked THIS event to tackle with my lovely gifted CAC. It appears, based on other comments, that the drop requirements in this one is higher than normal.

I'll go as far as I can, and then back to tackling all those other things. :)

I'm growing event crops like crazy and have completed the left side progress bar. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to fill the right side progress bar. It'll only give me 352.500 CCs all in all - and it's a lot of crops. So far I've donated 6000 passion fruits to get the Titanium Stable and 4700 CCs pr. task.

I'm so glad there is no milling :inlove: And weeeee, my spa just reached level 4! :D

Only 339 drops total from yesterday and today so far, but I'm still growing event crops. Plus I'll be able to harvest 3 more times today and that will bring more drops. After I have enough event crops, I'll plant long growing crops again and hopefully have a higher drop rate at that point.
    @spotsbox Great advice. :)

    ^ I so agree with this @puppiesnponies ^

@jazzy22 I know exactly how you feel. What level are you at? I'm almost to level 80 and have been playing every day since I first joined 9 months ago but I've only ever been able to complete 2 events. They were fairly easy ones so that's why. When I do participate in events, I am glued to them, there is never any idle time between harvests, I set timers and wake up in the middle of the night if need be, lol, so it can indeed be frustrating when you're unable to finish even though you went above and beyond to do so. I too can't wait to get to the level where I'm able to plant carnations and rosehips; seems like many players have great drops with them. Good luck in at least getting some great prizes from this event if you don't finish. But you never know, you might just end up finishing it!

And when you do decide to skip an event or only go as far as you can (sometimes getting a nice giver or two is better than nothing at all)...remember to do things that can up your CC total - when I was a super-green newbie farmerbroke gave me some very valuable advice regarding selling on the market. I am always running my mill and I sell excess feed for CCs. Also put out all your chicken coops or for an event like this, cover your Baha fields with stables (the newer ones give more manure) and sell manure. The price usually gets plenty ridiculous around day three (which would be right about now) and you can amass a serious pile of CCs selling it then.

If you are lucky enough to have gotten a rare tree or two that has a currently high price - like sweetgum balls right now - sell them. Don't bother working on the quest - the quest will be there for a long time. The sky high prices those rare tree fruits bring will not. Sell 'em while you can make a huge profit. Hoard them later on when the price tumbles (usually because we all have them and they are no longer super rare).

There are lots of ways to play this game...play it so it's fun for you.

And Nellie, I'd go with the manufactory, too - because you can never have enough ostrich eggs, bags of koi, paint palettes or truffles. Seriously - those four things - that's pretty much what my manufactories make.

    gardengal --

I just got to level 74. I feel that might be a wee bit deceiving since a lot of my level growth came from events, etc. where there were prizes of considerable EP. I started playing at the beginning of August -- so I believe I'm doing well. :)

Just stripped out all my trees along the edges of my fields to add more 1x1s (I need the fruit, so hated doing it). Hopefully, I can get a few more drops -- even if it moves me one step further in the progress bar.

Still think the demands on the drops for this event is crazy -- and I think I'd be saying that no matter what level I was at. ;)

    ETA: Thanks, bunny!

I took out my stalls today to see if I can get more drops with 1x1 crops -- my main was all stalls with 2 fields of 1x1s, but now it's 3 fields of 1x1s. We'll see if it makes a difference in drops.

Baha is busy restocking the crops I dumped into the sidebars. I'm taking advantage of that CAC running, so it's all 1x1s over there too.

And yes, I sell at the market -- mostly chickens, but sometimes crops and other animals as well. :)

Rose hips and carnations are nice but you can get good drops with other crops below these. Roses are nice because they have refinements that makes growing them fast a reality. While refinements take time, you should consider working on at least one crop just for getting drops. Lilies can also be good with refinements.

@Sweet_Cassiopeia I normally use roses, red poppies, or lilies and I would love to do the refined roses or lilies but I haven't gotten the hang of the refinement process yet. I need to look into that more. :) For the 1st round this time before plating event crops, I used barley and received great drops, but it's a bit too long of a crop even watered. No $ for SG or I'd stick with barley.

@jazzy22 Wow I'm speechless. You only started last month and are now at level 74?? That's amazing! I play daily and complete lots of quests etc. and only at level 79. Keep doing what you're doing. :)

    Nellie and gardengal:

I have yet to tackle the refinery. I think I need to read up on it a bit more. I see negative refinements in there (??), so not sure how it all works yet --whether to start with large pots vs. small, etc. and I don't want to end up with any mistakes. When I do, I might start with wheat or something small just to see how it all works.

gardengal -- as I said, I think the level is a bit deceiving. I don't 'feel' like 74 with so much yet to accomplish to move further in the game (trophies, refinery, Tree of Wisdom, LL, crystal falls, events, working FSQs for stars, confectionery...I'm sure there's more. lol).

ETA: And when I first started the game, although I didn't participate in the events, I planted nothing but the event crops during the events (which were often) -- then got all the EP and ccs for the crops and drops when they cashed in at the end (plus all the EP for harvesting). Since, as a beginner, I had no crops available that even came close to the EP they were worth, it moved me up very quickly as well. My own little trick. :p
