dumbunny - I had the same experience with the lamps. Just 2 at harvest with all 3 fields full of trees, stables, workshops and only a partial field of saguaro.

 

I missed the event start completely.
The extension of moonlight mania event led me to think, that this event will start tomorrow, so I harvested EVERYTHING on all fields at 5 minutes before event start.

HOW stupid is that???
So no drops at all here.. BUT I will not give up!!

Initial harvest was 215 needles and 1 Magic Lamp.

I had used the moonlight mania buffs a day too early (as we thought, it would start, but it didn't) and now missed preps for this event...
I think, I should REALLY do an exam on the FAQ reading LOL

Same here Mir, thanks a lot...following your strategy of planting white cactus and fortunately completed crop part with 200% harvest which recd from wheels...All 3 fields now covered with 20 hours tree reduced growing time by vial of growth...Current status: White cactus: 4988 Needle: 336 and Magic Lamp: 29....Good luck All of Us

 

Magic Carpets need 18 needles each! 18 x 55 = 990 drops. Have asked mods to correct event FAQ.

 

I'm probably going to sit out this event for the first time ever. I just got home, planted all 3 event plants and going to bed. I have pens in the crystal falls, trees on the main baha and fields in the rainforest (whopsie that's the wrong place for everything I just realized) I have mayhem at work atm, all alone in my department, and no time for a home-alone-party. I am down right silly, cos I am going to make a half a dog tale attempt. Might grab some goodies.

the magic lamp drop is really harsh!
uptill this morning harvest, I only got 10(4 from gift)lamps, but 282needles
I had one howie, my LL is 29%, I am mix type farmer, my fully open crystal fall is
full of trees and stable, rainforest half with trees and stables, and still got this result.
I use 9hr event crop only.after morning harvest, I cut some place of baha main farm
for stables. If the drop rate still don’t go well for those lamps....
I could predict that :
If BP don’t improve the drop rate, this event cannot be finished even for a high level player
unless used BB to buy drops!

 

1. I agree with dnin21cent. All my island fields are open and were filled with trees, stables and saguro. From that, I got 2 lanterns to drop and none since then. Fortunately my neighbors sent 3 more lanterns for a grand total of 5. At the 24 hr mark in the event, I may be lucky enough to feed the bear once.

 

They said the lamp would be a rare drop they weren't kidding but never fear there is a possibility of getting some from feeding that other little dude I got 8 of them just from that ( feeding the other little dude) lol forget what he is called

 

The good news is that on the other farm, I'm done growing white cactus (got a second 100% bonus on the wheel so SG'd the stuff and have enough to get the cloud row once I get enough needles). This farm wasn't so lucky with the wheel. But there's always tomorrow. On the green lantern front - denied. Over and over...

Oh yeah - because the other farm doesn't need to grow the event crop, I'm doubling down with long term stables on the other two lands. We'll see if that makes a difference in the lantern drop rate. I'll report back when I have some data to share. Don't hold your breath.

 

I Lit up the Djinn bear 8 times so far. Have not bought any Magic lamps.
The Otterdin gave 12 (flew 21 Magic Carpets), neighbors and my other farms 25 (we send gifts after event starts and again after gifts reload). First harvest was 11 from trees, critters and product pens including Arboretum, Menagerie and Manufactory.
Using 180 1x1s White cactus, each harvest gives 6 carpets. Milling 6 more now... and have 4 lamps, from this harvest.

Well, this morning I could harvest the drop rat on Sewinglady's farm - so ya ready for my lantern count - with extra panda pens, camel pens, etc.? ONE. Just one.

this make me could feed the bear 1 time
We all know , able to have some free lamp to feed the bear is really precious

 

The lantern drop is ridicoulous!!!
2 lamps from a field of camels... that's it...
Without neighbours gifted lanterns I wouldn't have the bear fed even once.
What a stupid drop rat... makes me really angry, as the success of an event shouldn't depend on the generosity of neighbours and friends.

The lamp rate is very poor. I appreciate all my neighbors/friends who have sent gifts. Without you, I would be playing Hungry Hungry Bear We don't have enough daily gifts to send to all our neighbors and friends. Hoping for a specific prize (lamps) from the random pool is not a good strategy (for me). I won't continue growing the event crop beyond the cloud row just to hope for lamps as an event reward. I would love to get the Factory upgrades but I know that will not happen based on my current rate of progress. I will do what I can but with a lot going on in real life, I refuse to fret over the drops. We just came through a worrying event (Eerie Step in Time) regarding drops and I'm not up for it again. Sadly, the drops are just not dropping and there doesn't seem to be much to be done about it.

Ok, I think Im giving up on the cloud row, if I make it I make if not owell, I have four manufactories, 4 menageries, multiple 10-14 hour stables/workshops and got only 1 lantern - I have had bad drops in the past - but this is just outrageous. I usually just go with the flow and bite the dust and do whatever I can but everyone has a breaking point, and think I have just reached mine. I mean the needles are dropping like wild fire, I already more than I need, so I will just keep feeding the Otterdins and get what I can from that, I didnt really like the cloud row anyways. I will just feed whatever bears I can and not stress, and put my Baha fields back to normal and keep Crystall falls growing white crops as I think it has been said you can just keep feeding them even beyond the 58 is that correct??

 

My farmer friends....we can finish the event and get the CR and all givers without donating anything to Djinn . However, by donating the lamps (which yes are rare, as the FAQ said they would be) we get extra rewards and another set of givers...surely this is a good thing and not a negative?? I appreciate the factory upgrades are only through Djinn but that doesn't affect anyone getting the CR and givers which is what most people aim for .
Unless I have misunderstood the FAQ of course?
