I have more than once, including just now, tried to offer a breeding animal for sale only to find that the maximum price I am allowed to post is WELL below the lowest price shown.

For example, I was trying to sell a Shetland pony. The lowest price was over 16626, but the market would only let me go to 14291.43 . Why?

I understand that market prices are limited, but this seems quite strange.

  2. Hello woody.

The 'Higher Sales Prices' Rune permits people to sell their goods at a higher price. The market default is 50%, the Rune will allow you charge 75% more.
    Have you opened that Rune?

    Can we assist you further?

Sorry, but that really does not answer my question. On what are the limits based. FAQ say market price, but I am not able to sell even well below market prices.
I know there are limits, but to not be able to sell below the lowest priced item listed seems peculiar, to say the least.

  4. The rune enables you to sell at 175% of "average" market price. Based on 16626, that would be 175% of 9500. Without the rune the maximum you could sell would be 150% of that which equates to 14250.85.

The market price rises and falls over time depending on selling trends and therefore had obviously increased very slightly as you were able to sell slightly above this price.

    Can I help further?

Sorry, but that is not my question at all.

The lowest price listed, the lowest price at which someone is selling the item.. that is what I am saying is the lowest market price. However, for some reason I cannot sell for that amount. This had nothing to do with the 10% commission, it had to do with how you determine the market price. That is what I want to know.

I had thought it was sort of an average of recent sales or some such.. obviously it is not. Fro crops, I would think the cost would be cost to buy up to 100 directly, though that is just a guess. There is no such basis for animals. What IS the market price, how is it determined_

Saying we can sell for 75% more is meaningless without that base reference.

  6. Sorry I re-read you question and reposted.

    You're misunderstanding it.

The difference is 100% correct, you don't have the rune that allows you to sell for a little higher in value.
In this case, those people are allowed the higher value since they got it unlocked. Market prices are base on demand, it's not really true about no limit.

Or THESE people listed the things for sale only to have the value drop.
Therefore you can't list at that price.

    ( I see now a mod just posted before me, :( )

Except 16626 was the lowest price offered, not the maximum. Where does the 9500 come from Also, many people were selling higher than that, so 9500 could not be the average.

Also, how can you say that 9500 was the average if it is so far below the lowest price offered Even if it were based on, say, a yearly average, that does not really explain the difference. I think you are either misunderstanding my question or where the program is getting the average.

Solo.. if the price had dropped, that might explain it, but the price actually seems to be raising. Also, the price I quoted was in no way the top price, it was the lowest offered. My basic question is how they determine the market price, upon which the rune is applied. It does not seem to be an average of recent sales.

  9. As I've explained 16626 is 175% of 9500, therefore that was the market price at the time, based on selling trends. As you don't have the rune the max you can sell at is 150% of market price.

The higher prices were obviously listed when the market value was higher

The 50% & 75% were based on the barn value before we had a dynamic market, so before that the max it was ever possible to sell at was 1.75x barn value. When the dynamic market was introduced, the market price is based on average selling price, therefore rises depending on supply and demand. Try looking at the max price you can sell manure for depending on what market trends are doing, it can vary from a max of 10CC to anywhere upto several hundred CC, depending on what price people are buying at.

The price is rising on breeding animals because we have an event coming up, so people are prepared to pay more.

No, you answered it. The price would-will go up if people keep selling high. I just happened to hit a low-high point mix. The market fluctuation was just more dynamic than the average right then.
