I think that the cuckoo breeding event is great for the period of time in which it coincides with Baby Boom, but I personally do not think that I will continue to bother with it once Baby Boom is over. This is because I find that the sheer number of cuckoos needed at varying stages (by which I mean mustachio, bee etc.) is an unachievable goal. Powerfeed for me is scarce and in spite of having over a thousand pheromones in stock before this event, I am down to merely 1.

Now, this is a personal preference and I don't see that there is really much the Team can do as I understand there does need to be an element of a challenge and Baby Boom cannot simply continue for the 130-odd hours that cuckoo breeding does. This is my first time trying cuckoo breeding or really much breeding at all (I do it on and off occasionally) and I've really enjoyed the event, but it's simply not something that I can keep up for the duration of the event because I simply do not have the ability to fund it PF or pheromone wise.

I agree with squigglegiggle about cuckoo breeding corresponding with baby boom. Having the power feed sale coincide is also a plus. Perhaps having a pheromone sale at the same time might help farmers move further along in the quest. I would imagine many save up their BBs to be able to buy the discounted power feed so a pheromone sale might be to their benefit as well.

Yes, I look forward to the BB event and am definitely among those who save up to breed specifically during those events. The difference here is that while usually I just concentrate on BB and forget the cuckoos, this time the cuckoo event was worthwhile. I am not going to complete it this go-around (and once done with the lower levels of this event, I am not sure the cloud row will be a priority, since the other cuckoo events take too much powerfeed for me, at least until I have more of my "regular" breeding animal events completed. However, I am quite happy to have earned a pink duck pen, a red feather collecting station, 2 wonder stables and harvest coupons.. not to mention the power feed, CCs, EPs (especially some Baharama EPs!!).

This cuckoo event far outstrips any you have had before.

Now if only there were an event to use up the 10K or more plain cuckoos we are all earning (all of us who have gone through a few of these already, anyway).

I really enjoyed this latest one - the rewards were great and the quantities were achievable. I especially like that it coincides with baby boom or I wouldn't be doing it. However, I would still like to be able to dump the remaining cuckoos into my animal trophy as I have far too many to be of use to me.

I am still not doing the cuckoo events as I want to take advantage of Baby Boom to breed bahamarama animals at the moment. I have many cuckoos in the barn and will do the events later - it is good that they will still be there. ;) The prizes for the cuckoo events are very good but all the breeding takes an enormous amount of PF which is a costly product. I hope there will not be any more breeding animals introduced for a while as the backlog of unfinished quests is growing !

I really don't like the cuckoo events.
I'm the sort of person who likes to complete tasks and finds satisfaction by making progress. This game seems to be geared towards that mindset, so I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who feels like that.

The problem with the cuckoo events is that in order to keep up with them you need to buy power-feed. You simply can't mill enough to keep up with the rate they're being introduced at. So, I can either accept the number of unfinished quests is just going to keep growing (which spoils my enjoyment of the whole game as I feel like I'm losing ground) or pay really quite a lot of real-world money to finish them without thinking the prizes are really worth it (which would also spoil my enjoyment of the whole game)

These events are too much like pay-to-win, for me. I really hope they don't continue for long.

    Well said!

Also, I think ALL of us would like to have a way to get rid of the many regular cuckoos we collect.

This most recent event was an improvement, but only in that it puts the cuckoo event roughly up with the other breeding events, maybe a bit better. It still means we have to choose the regular, standard events that are what attracted many of us to the game OR do the event.

I suspect a lot of the change comes back to the recent poll... unfortunate, that, because the poll really did not get at why most people actually play farmerama. Shimmer... thank you for putting why most of us play into nice, succinct terms.
