Please post your wishes, etc in another thread. This is to discuss strategy (a tad late) I am starting it per request. Experienced players, please add comments!

    1. Don't trade for "other" items you don't know.
    2. ASK for advice before trading away items.. or at least check the "wish list" thread. If folks have it on their list, especially longer time players... chances are its reasonably good.
    3. LOOK AT QUANTITIES in some cases, you may find what looks to be a bargain, but that is asking for large quantities of an item. It may still be a good deal.. just be aware that not all offers are for 1.

    For reference:
ORANGE animal pens give 2, Pink animal pens give 3. (red gives 2 and gives more EP than orange; yellow just gives one with a bit more EP and shorter time than a regular pen)

    PINK workshops yield 2 items.

You can only get regular items (those available for CC in your basket) if they are open to your level.

RARE pens... anyone can get. They are not upgradable. To check "value", look in your market to see what price they are bringing. Also check lists of the latest mini-events to see which animals are no longer offered. In addition to rare pens for special animals, you will see things like birthday pens/classic pens, etc. These usually offer just one "normal" (or rare) animal, but have differing EP amounts (usually more, sometimes a lot more) and the pens themselves look different. They cannot be upgraded.

Moonlight mania -- pens, workshops and deco items are available roughly once a month, for a day or two. Occasionally longer. These are not considered "rare", but since you can only work for them once a month, are in demand.

    Trees:
Generally, check the price in the market. Those you can buy with CC, at any level, are less "valuable" than the rare ones, though, regardless of price. Some people, (myself included) like to have at least one (or more) of each item just "because", and might trade more than expected. BUT.. as a newer trader, be cautious. The market price of the fruit may seem low, but these items are "valuable" because G & T is the only place to get them.. so, if you trade it, its gone! This is particularly true for those that are needed for feed. (Rowan, for example, is needed for eagle feed.. but there are many other examples) It is nice to have at least some "home grown" supply... just in case the market soars for an event, etc.

    Deco items:
(note.. there are way too many deco items for me to list here, but here are some big standouts)
Good ones include Howie donuts, Essentially anything you might have won or purchased in a recent event.
If you click on the trade function, and pretend you are either looking for or trading away a deco item, you will see a listing of the items with the EP totals listed. This won't tell you if its something for a cloud row, etc, but it will give you a basic idea.

Cheaper/poorer items (all these give less than 70 EP each )
The birthday cake (gives under 50 EP)
Brian snitzel (60 EP), Nick Katts (gives 10 CC) AJ Mcbean ... and most of that family other than the howie donut
    sweater donkey (25 EP)
    Breakfast bunny (under 60 EP)

NOTE.. even if you don't think you have much to offer, don't despair.. you might score! Some older players are posting "insanely good" offers. BUT.. pay attention. There is, of course a HUGE difference between getting a pink pen for an apple tree and getting an apple tree for a pink pen.. when you had no intention of donating it that way. Also, you may be able to trade away poorer items in quantity, if you have them. (again, 10 walnut for a pink pen was an example). Just remember that you have to have a trade ticket for EACH item you trade out (or recieve). At roughly 2BB each, that can be rather costly, but then many of these items are just not available otherwise.

And, there is nothing to say you cannot trade a poor item for another... just know what you are getting, and note that it takes a ticket.

Wow Woody. Good thread. Very helpful. If there was a similar thread for the past G&T events, I would not have wasted at least 5 exchanges and lost some valuable trees and other items.

Thank you very much for posting this thread woody!!!!!:)

I understand now that people not only want to finish cloud rows, but they are just trying to finish collections... or they just like some strange kind of deco item.;)

I'm still so focused on trying to get quests done I am just in the place where I wanted/traded things just for that purpose... but when one has the quests done... they have different goals:)
    Great Job!:D:D:D

I sure hope they decide to offer... my fav.. confetti on the wheel at some point... SO many people wanted that item.
it's all bp's fault!!! It's too cute.. and useful... they made us want it.... hehe...:p
I wish they would put it on the wheel though:)

Well, G & T is now over, so this thread will no doubt fall back to the nether regions. Some of you who have benefited.. remember it exists and make your own when the time comes
