Ghost traps

I have 1 ghost trap ... when I click on rooms with a ghost in... it tells me I have 1 ... but I cannot use them because no clean button lights up... I have opened the rooms beside them ...Only 1 trap is required for these rooms
Can you tell me why I can't use this 1 please?

 

Nellie, in the FAQ's it shows a certain way you have to do the rooms with arrows. Even though you have opened a room you might have to go to the left, then up then over to the right. Hope this helps

Hello Nellie_Noodles

It sounds like you have not unlocked yet a connected room to the haunted one, so you do not have an open door leading into that one, to allow you to clear it using the ghost traps.

Please check below an example - the stars mark the opened rooms, the green 'o's mark the only rooms that can be unlocked now, and the red 'x' signs mark the rooms that cannot be accessed right now, because no cleared room leads into them through a door. I hope this helps!
