gift and trade

i understand that if you cant see an item in the inventory then it is not available to be traded.
somebody is requesting a birthday castle (lvl iv) which i have & that i want rid of. i click to exchange and i get a message something like "you dont have enough goods" which clearly i do as its in my inventory....so i cant complete the exchange.
if i make an offer i can select it from the inventory, pick what i would like in exchange then when i complete the offer i get the same answer "you dont have enough goods".
if i didnt then i wouldnt be able to select it from my inventory would i !
pelican stables are not tradable, you can not request them as they are not in the selection inventory regardless of how many i actually have....as are other new items.
so why if the birthday castle is viewable, requestable and therefore tradeable can i not trade it?

The Birthday Castle IV should be included in this edition of Gift and Trade. I have cleared your server cache to see if that helps. Please also clear your browser cache and log out, back in again and then try the trade again.

If that doesn't work, I can pass it on to the Team but it won't likely be fixed this time.
