Grapevine - Linking to official forums

Hi!

I tend to forget things that don't make sense to me, so I'm sorry if I have asked this before ( I believe I have) or has already been addressed somewhere else.

As I understand, I cannot post a picture from another forum that was created by a regular player. Only pictures from Oracles.

So my question is.

If I find a picture (reminder that it is a rumor) from a regular player, can I just post the link of the official forum and tell the GW readers to go there and check it out? Would that be allowed?

If a player has posted a picture with an official link in their post, you may link that post. However, you may not link to an official forum site that contains unofficial posts/pictures.

You may describe a rumor from an official site or member of the mod team. If it is a rumor, it is ok, but not if there are specific details about donations or rewards.

Remember that you will still need to provide a link to where you gathered your information. As long as it is a rumor and not official information, you can describe the rumor. Please be aware that if the links go to unofficial information from a player, it will be deleted.

Could you explain me the difference between rumor vs unofficial information?
As I understand from your previous post, I can share rumors, but I can not share unofficial information.
I'm asking this because, as you may know, 90% of the rumors said by regular players come true. Which means, that somehow they are unofficial information.

So please be specific stating the difference.

Yes you are right, most rumors do come true (if they have been started by official sources of course). All official rumors are posted accordingly by official sources for the players to show them what is coming up. Posting unofficial sources, spoils the anticipation for many players and the Grapevine Wizards & Oracles that put many hours into making preview glimpses for the players.

An example can be found in this post in the Grapevine and this one. The first is showing unofficial images and is speculation, so they would be fine to post providing they are linked, whereas the 2nd example is just speculation and no link is required. These following two posts both show official images and specific information and must come from official source.

Just one very last thing. I hope!

A player posts a picture (i.e. new animal pen. The real picture) in a forum before mods or oracles do. That picture travels to all the forums, but ours.
Since those forums are not as strict as this one, that picture does not get deleted.
Oracles decide not to post that picture, cause it has already been posted.

How do we share it with the EN readers? According to what you just said before, we can't cause it does not come from a member of the mod team. However, it is the real game picture.

As you can see, all we care is about keeping our forum fellas updated.

The situation you describe is a leak and is not permitted according to the rules. We cannot be responsible for what other forums allow as we can only follow our guidelines. Please be aware that if a player shares unofficial images, that player risks having their account suspended.
