GT Trade problem

During GT I conversed with -username removed- re trade. I wanted a Black Willow and -username removed- wanted a Paint Factory. I listed the trade on GT. As far as I am concerned it appears that the trade went through. I have a Black Willow and one less Paint Factory in Inventory -- I had 2 extra and now I only have 1 extra.

I received messages in game inbox from -username removed- asking where the tree was when I logged into game today. The last messages were accusing me of stiffing. I advised that the trade appeared to work so that it was probably a tech problem if they did not receive. The last game message I received still suggests that I did not provide the Paint Factory.

In view of the above, I would like you to review the situation to correct if a tech problem and if this is not a tech problem I would like to have -username removed- reported for harassing me.

 

I had the same thing happen to me.
I traded for a buddhas hand and amhertsia tree and it disappeared when I looked for them.
Is there someone who can check the accounts for missing items?

Oh, I figured it out!
The trees were tropical which is why I could not find them.
Problem solved.

I have removed the username of the player you have mentioned to avoid any misunderstanding and unpleasant situations, because reports should not be made on the forum, and in this case, it is definitely not a harassment case.

There was probably a communication problem between you two - you are unable to trade with a different player 'willingly' through the in game trades - what you can do is send the item as a gift and get one in return, also as a gift. In this case, the player sent you the Black Willow as a gift, and the Turkey Paint Factory should have been sent by you as a gift as well. Instead, you have posted a trade in game, which has not gone through, but your items are held in the trade until the offer is cancelled. The offers active when Gift & Trade ended will be cancelled tonight between 4 and 5 am CET, so the turkey workshop will return to your inventory by tomorrow.

Sadly, there is nothing we can do in this case. All you can do is explain your fellow farmer that it was a misunderstanding and you had no intention of tricking him/her into an unfair trade, and make up for this failed exchange in the next Gift & Trade.

As explained in game, we cannot be held responsible nor can interfere with these situations, I am really sorry.

It was not my intention to publicly berate a player in the open Forum but when I stated that my inventory showed that the trade went through and that the player should contact you it was not done -- I just received another message accusing me of cheating the player. In order for you to do the appropriate research I thought it would help to give you the other player's name.

The confusion might be less if the GT trades stayed after the event closed so that we could see what was traded after we logged out or what was just gifted by another player. Another reason for confusion is that you state that my offer is being held but I received EP Givers that I had offered back into my inventory. I thought that all offers not accepted would have been returned to inventory at the same time. This confusion could be alleviated if the GT trade/gift listings were still "viewable" after the event closed -- you would not be able to make more offers but you could see what had been accepted and what was still listed.

I realize that I cannot specify to what player the trade goes to in GT but I have found that placing a notice in the GT chat room and then following it up with messages I can get a trade. I specifically state in my messages that I will post the trade in GT. This has worked before and it helps because sometimes the item you want is not listed in GT but when they find out what you are willing to trade for it they are willing to offer the item.

I hope you reconsider in interfering because after being accused of cheating by this player twice I would rather not have anymore contact with them. You could either send them the Paint Factory from my inventory or return the Black Willow. I will notify them that I have contacted you and that you have stated that it was probably a miscommunication and that I have requested you complete the trade or return the item to them. If this is unable to be done there is nothing I can do until next GT when I will return the tree.

Do not worry about it, I never said it was your intention, but players can read quickly threads and get the wrong impression. For everyone's privacy, it is best to keep names away from the forum - that's why all the reports have to be made through our Support Team.

Gift & Trade has been working like this for a very long time, and we have included this information in the FAQ as well - but we do appreciate your suggestion and understand your concerns, as well as absolutely agree with your point of view.

The offers might and might not work through the game, that's why we open the trading threads and players are gifting items directly - just like the market, players that are on the same database will see each other's offers, but they will not be visible to the rest of the players.

Unfortunately, this is not something we can reconsider, we must follow our guidelines, and this is how G&T has always worked - we are unable to figure out the exact situation, we cannot resolve these kind of player conflicts. I am sure if your fellow farmer will see this thread (hint, hint - let him/her know about it), they will understand the situation and the two of you will resolve this as soon as the mini event returns.

I am really sorry I cannot help you sort this manually, but we are unable to. If there is anything else I could assist you with though, I would be more than happy to. I hope you can understand our position.

I already advised them that they could read my post here when I first reported the problem to you. I guess I will have to wait til next GT to correct the problem.

As of now still have not received the Paint Factory back into inventory so I would appreciate it if the thread stays open until I notify you that I did in case that part of the problem is not resolved.

The offers that were still active when the Gift & Trade mini event ended have been cancelled on the 24.02.2016 between 06:46:18 CET (your oldest posted offer) and 09:48:12 CET (the most recent), and the following items have returned to your inventory: 3 x Cookware Forge, 1 x Paint Factory, 1 x Neon Sheep.

When the GT inventory screen comes up it has all of the Farmerama items (divided by type: tree, pen, etc.). They show the quantity currently offered (the high demand usually show zero being offered) -- this does not mean that you cannot trade for that item it just means that there are currently none offered (I find the forum helps in letting others know that you want a particular item -- unfortunately there seem to be problems when people outside your market see the post and then can't find the offer -- I have listed my Market # as part of my ID post but apparently that hasn't helped.

I have submitted suggestions re GT to help alleviate this problem in future for myself (as well as others).
