Whilst I'm enjoying being able to participate for once, I've done 5 or 6 harvests for a grand total of 7 drops. Totally unacceptable. It may do BP well to remember that people aren't going to want to spend money on a game that so blatantly disregards its customers. This is marketed as a free game and should therefore be programmed as such. Getting more drops for a small monetary payment should be an added bonus for those who can and want to pay the money, not a necessity to complete an event that is marketed as free.

Just harvested 2 fields I waited hours for -- again (I stress again), ZERO drops. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have received no drops whatsoever from harvesting 2 or 3 fields at one time. If it wasn't for friends and neighbours who were gifting me the things, I wouldn't be able to progress at all. Love the graphics, but not crazy about the event execution.

agree with other posts about excellent graphics and the feel of the decorative theme. Also agree the requirements seem unreasonable given the available resources. I like having some events where there is actually a completely level playing field - however the crop length, and the amount required, makes it so much less fun than it could be. However, the rest of the farm is free to do as it pleases, so that is a terrific benefit. Except for the feeling that it's going to be very tough to finish, I like this event, love the mechanism, wish the tree could stay in the game...

I am finding this one pretty boring despite it seeming complicated before we started.

Drops I shouldn't worry about too much, particularly to brew the feed, just do the upgrade of fairy houses. But waiting for just a few crops to mature is like waiting for paint to dry.

Great graphics and a very pretty tree but event is extremely boring.

Back to the positive side, the last too quests to open MM fields was a real barn burner of Suzy and Tree Super manure, so I guess it is better that we aren't tempted to completely empty our supplies.

I would like to know why we keep having these barn clearers..for what purpose...it's taken us ages to get them and hate giving from it I cannot see the point of it

I've read the comments and echo the lamment; Great presentation until you actually have to endure the wait times and pathetic drop rate. You can't grow crops fast enough to speed up the fairies.
Removing the buffs slowed this down to a snails crawl.
    125 lots+Time-Buffs = Boring
I'm not interested in events like these anymore. I'm going to paint something and watch it dry.

Ok, I agree with the drop rate being crappy. It seems that the only real way to get them is to buy the baskets or from friends gifts. Well, some people don't have/wont spend money so we could really use drops from our hard work also there are players that don' t have friends to give them drops they are shy and/or like to play alone... (not me I talk too much hahahah)
That said I really like this event.
I know I also have wished to be able to use other buffers but it's ok we are all on the same playing ground, Newbie and Oldies alike. I have become seasoned enough that I forgot what it was like in the beginning. This was a great reality check, no one was above the other unless they were spending money or had plenty of friends. But please keep these type of events limited ;)
I liked that there were chooses you could make as to what you wanted to play at. Unlike many other events that are straightforward with only one thing to do. With this event I choose to start by only playing the FSQ. While others have focused on the fairy dens and other have chosen to try and complete all.
I find this event was flexible and for that, I have enjoyed this event very much. Have I/will I finish the whole event NO but I am happy with what I have received from the FSQ and the bonuses from the dens. I have kept the dens at level one and I was still receiving uncommon type rewards.
    The graphics are AWESOME CUTE.

PS If I could just rate all of the Halloween Goings On here... I have enjoyed everything very much but I really wish we could have had Moonlight Field open the whole time. Maybe next year ???
    Happy Halloween and Thanks boooo

Oh I wanted to add that for whatever reason this event was running very slow. I found that very annoying.

I agree with Frootloop -- in fact, I was coming in to the forum to add a positive note on the event similar to Frootloop's. Because the event didn't require buffs or a maxed out trophy to get ahead, it was ideal for newer players -- giving them a fair playing field and a chance to actually get to the end.

However, with no buffs or trophies, the crop growth rate should have been lowered and the drop rate increased. There was no possible way to grow enough crops to take advantage of 'speeding up' the fairy dens -- let alone enough drops. We were lucky if we got enough drops to upgrade the dens (thanks to friends and neighbours). Those without relationships in the game (particularly newbies) would have struggled to get any drops at all.

Again, without the use of buffs/trophies, a little more needed to happen to speed things along. It was painfully slow. Maybe a shorter crop growth, higher drop rate would have allowed a 4th fairy den on that 3rd area, adding a little more interaction and play time. The crop wait time was far too long for the small amount of space we had to plant/open.

So events like this once in awhile that allow new players to participate is a good thing, but you need to tweak it for it to be fun for all. :)

ETA: It would have been nice if you had a separate category of prizes for upgraded dens -- as it was, it didn't seem to matter whether dens were upgraded or not, the prize was random either way. In most cases, I was receiving things like 5 mulch or 5 suzy's from fully upgraded dens. Other than more points toward the progress bar, upgrading the dens seemed pointless in gaining better rewards.

I really liked this event cause I got to exercise the last few remaining cells of gray matter that I still have. For me the game has gotten boring because it's mostly busy work instead an opportunity practice using logic and strategize.

I hate events like the fishing event and short time crops because they interfere, require too much time, with my RL. I would love to see some 12-15h event crops. Then I would only have to login twice a day.

I don't usually have time to post here. I don't have time to read anyone else's comments.

    EDIT:
Just noticed someone complaining about drop rate... By my calculations one doesn't NEED drops to finish the event, only to upgrade the pens. My trophies are maxxed out and in the LL rune so... that MIGHT be part of the reason players are having difficulty?

CR up and running. one more step on companion quest to do, thought may as well have PF in my inventory Im sure it will get used!!!!!

Found event totally boring, but on brightside got a few jackpot prizes and as others have said it didnt matter if dens were upgraded or not to which prize/reward you got.

Totally happy got MM trees but won them after fields were closed so they will get planted when fields open again. I thought we would of had MM fields open during this event. Maybe something BP to think of next year if they have anyone left playing the game.

I liked the tree in middle of field maybe that could be a permanant feature somewhere

I have almost finished this event on two farms. :DI had to set my alarm to wake me up in the middle of the night, to get the extra crops.:sleepy: I upgraded the dens as soon as I could, giving me faster movement along the 20 to a 100 track. I got some decent prizes, one farm getting 2 fairy cat dens from 3 goes on the fairy dens. :) I had no problem with drops:p
I liked the event as the strategy was challenging, graphics great:).

It should have read hard to very hard in the FAQ, a lot more crops should have been given at the beginning. Most people would not have been able to spend as much time in front of the computer as I did.:( 7/10 BP

This event was a pleasant surprise. I finished it with 30 hours to spare. I had a busy weekend and didn't think there was any way I could finish it, but the event was not as bad as it first appeared to be. I got many nice prizes and didn't have to use any SG or be glued to the computer.

Made a couple mistakes in the beginning but was able to recover and finish.

Prizes were okay. They might have been better if I hadn't made the mistakes and leveled up my Cat Fairy Dens earlier.

I like it when you don't have to be perfect to finish an event.

    Hi,
Does anyone has the same problem as me? I didn't get the bonus of 36 hours of harvesting.

I am in two minds about this event. At first, I found the premise quite confusing and, like nm56, made a few mistakes. It made more sense to make the Grimoires but I thought the Magic Meals would be better ... lesson learned. In the end I didn't use much of either. Too far behind in the quest to spare any Moonlight Herbs until I was sure I could finish.

It would have been better if the Magic Meals and Grimoires used different crops, say 100 Venom Bulbs and 8 Breaths of Life for Grimoires and 50 Moonlight Herbs and 4 Breaths of Life for the Magic Meals or any combination of these. At least we could have been doing something different all the time.

As it was, I think that many farmers found the constant waiting for crops very boring and probably didn't hang around their farms as long as they usually do or wanted to - not much to do but wait.:(

I didn't seem to have any problem with drops (probably cos I didn't use many anyway) but I seemed to get about 8 from a field of Moonlight Herbs which, as there was only one field dropping drops, I didn't think was too bad. :)

As far as no buffs - I had to keep reminding myself that these weren't working. Even when we won +1 of all crops in the Halloween Calendar, we still only got basic returns on our event crops. But it did mean that, with the correct strategy and enough farming hours, even the newest of players, in theory, had a chance to get some wonderful prizes and maybe even the Cloud Row and all the necessary EP items plus the extras, if they wanted them. Of course, the first three parts of the companion quest meant they probably couldn't get all those prizes but they could still reap some great rewards. :inlove:

Prizes in the quest were very good, I didn't get that many wonderful prizes from the Fairy Dens and the upgraded one that I had didn't seem to give me that much better prizes than the other two but I don't really do events particularly for the prizes, I just enjoy the challenge. That is probably why I did actually enjoy this event ... I think! :p

Didn't finish, but did do the companion quest instead. The givers and graphics were great as were the prizes from the fairy dens. Frustratingly I got a few MM stables that I can't put out so it would be better to have MM fields open for longer I feel. Also, I was just bored waiting to harvest. I didn't have time to fully read the FAQ so didn't realise the importance of the fairy dens (how many made that mistake?) hence event not finished. I much prefer being able to use buffs; for those of us unable to harvest frequently that does level the playing field.

I haven't had a lot of good things to say about events lately, but once I figured this one out, mainly thanks to the strategy thread, I was able to finish to get the cloud row and complete the quest. Enjoyable, but a little boring having to wait so long on the crops. Drops were adequate. I do enjoy the ability to harvest the fairy dens to get additional prizes after I finished the major parts of the event. Really nice to have the event end later in the day rather in the morning for my time zone.
