Just did my first harvest of venom bulbs -- ZERO drops.

Looks like your name is slightly different. At least to me. So no worries.

And it appears Wellie had her name well before you did.

 

They have? yes slightly different ...but can still be mistaken for each other

I just based it on 'member since' dates. You are May 2015, she is Sept. 2014.

What difference does it make if they are not exactly the same? I had an old, inactive user with my EXACT name and that old, inactive account was getting all my messages and gifts before support disabled it -- that I see as a problem. The names are not the same, so I don't understand the issue.

The other thing is that Wellie has a sheep avatar and you have none...so if you wish to not be mistaken for the other player, I suggest that you choose an avatar that looks nothing like a sheep or continue without one - that makes it pretty easy to differentiate between you.

Anyway, back to the thread's purpose... I see where improving the fairy huts also gives multiplied numbers toward the 100 total needed for the cloud row - so it behooves us to upgrade those huts!

And, a question. I know that only water and manure will shorten crop length, but does anyone know if the party wheel prizes increase yield or not? I gave up trying to win one this morning, so I am unsure - if anyone has one in effect today, I would be interested to know if it does affect the yield on the special field. Might change one's strategy (makes use of 1x1 fields worthwhile, for example).

Edited to add: nope. 24 party spins, finally got a 200% bonus - does NOT affect yield, so 2x2 plots are the best use of seeds.

New moonlight stuff or the special field event or both?

 

I did some calculations and posted them in Feedback to express my concerns about this event. It seems wise to post part of it here as well, knowing it may become handy:

Right now the Event will be active for another 138 hours.
Grow times for the crops, with water and manure applied are approx 3:30 (bulbs) and 4:40 (herbs)

This means we can maximum do, without ANY idle time

138/3.5 = 40 harvests with bulbs
or
138/4.66 = 30 harvests with herbs.

Max number of plots = 125, max harvest progress = 1 crop per 1x1 plot

Given the extra crops from the quest,

To get max number of plots needs 920 bulbs .. due to starting with just 50 plots, this takes 10 harvests with bulbs
To complete the quest needs another 725 bulbs and 725 herbs, with max number of plots, this takes 6 harvests of each
To upgrade dens, needs 600 herbs, with max number of plots, this takes 5 harvests with herbs. Without upgrades one won't make it to 100 on the progress bar in time - only 34 full time harvests of den fit in 138 hrs)

Totals so far = 16 harvests with bulbs (56 hours) and 11 harvests with herbs (51.5 hours) = 107.5 hours

That leaves 30 hours to grow any additional crop needed to speed up den harvest time.

NOTE: By the time you read this the event timer shows less time left.. how spooky!

EDIT! I just found out the FAQ Den Level chart is incorrect and there are 3 levels to upgrade, meaning for full den upgrades, we'll need 900 herbs .. this takes 8 harvests with herbs and not 5 as posted above. .. urgh.. even less idle time remains..

 

You edited/added the above in your post after I responded, so I'll reply. I used to be a moderator at a different site - not related in any way (this one is lovely in comparison -- you needed soap in your holster at the other ). Not too hard to figure out this forum.

Anyway -- maybe we shouldn't hijack this thread and let it get back to topic.

Don't know what I'll end up doing but I have opened the quest and ready to grow a few hundred 'Venom Bulb' and get those trees that is my first and for most goal, anything after that is a plus

I have harvested two crops. Both with two fields opened. (I did the FSQ first for the extra event crops & drops)
I have had exactly 1 (that's ONE) drop per harvest. Considering we need eight to mill the fairy upgrade, I don't see another upgrade anytime in the near future. The drop Rat has left the event! This drop rate is terrible!
