I have no idea what I am doing in this event but I do know I am getting bored already!

 

I am getting a pain in my neck to match my headache!! I feel like I have no idea what I am supposed to do so I shall be muddling my way through with others Drops???? Oh yeah, I see one every now and again

 

I think my game "strategy" for this event is simply not to bother. I'm basing this on all the posts I've read by some very experienced farmers & the complicated DUO event. I'm also trying to "grow up" my farm so to have to make donations of this, that, and the other definitely puts me off.

Thanks to all the "number crunchers" and other farmers who have shared what their strategies will be. You guys rock!!

 

If I didn't get neighbor drops, I'd be in the dumper. On my first harvest of venom bulbs on 2 fields I got 5 drops. I am sooooooo excited, NOT.

 

Get one drop on a harvest if I'm lucky (did get 2 on a field one time). Last two harvests -- zero drops, nadda, zip, nil. Got some nails, sugar and scrap metal, though.

 

I harvested 3 fields of moonlight herbs got 6 Breath of Life. I takes a while to get grasp on what to do. Best way is plan it out on paper. As you need to write down the order of progress but have to becareful not to donate too many moonlight herbs to the Witchs Cauldron. As you need to hang onto enough of them for seed all fields that you unlocked so far.

Then need to build up and stock up Venon Bulbs to work to unlock the next field. Do not Donate Moonlight Herbs and Breath of Life to Magic Meal. As you need to be careful each time. It is a waste to used Magic Meal. If your Fairy Den is going to become Idle during the day or Night

I would Strongly suggest to upgrade you Fairy Dens as soon as possible. If you want to aim to get the Cloud Row. But it takes few hours to reap either Venom Bulbs or Moonlight Herbs. But Moonlight Herbs does have better advantage of better drops of Breath of Life.

Talking of Breath of Life i would suggest to get at least 20 Neighbours or Buddies send you up to 20 Breath of Life as Gift every 24 Hours

Tip: I have remapped my field to have as many 2x2, then 2x1. lastly 1x1. So you are using as little seeding as possible. Why you still gain the same amount of event crops if all fields was 1x1 this also helps those who not got the harvester

 

My only 2 harvested drops came from my first field of moonlight herb. All other drops came from my dear neighbors and the FSQ.
I got one Fairy Den to level 4 just before harvesting. Then I used 4 of the 6 magic meals from the FSQ to harvest again. My counter is at 13/100. Trying to get one more field open before calling it a night.

Okay folks. I've seen enough postings in here concerning the usage of 1x1 fields vs a combination of 2x2+1x2+1x1.
That it got me to wondering which strategy is actually the better of the two, meaning which will have the better yield per seed planted.
So, this olde phart set out to crunching the numbers. (I know, I know an oddity to be sure me crunching numbers).
Here's what I found:
1x1 = 2 yield
1x2 = 3
2x2 = 5

Planting 1x1's per 25 unit plots yields 50 crop. Minus the 25 inital seeds and you have a total yield per plot of 25 crop.
Or 1x1 x 25 = 50 - 25 = 25

Now compare the "Combined strategy" for fields vs the simple 1x1's

For plot #1 I used 3 2x2, 5 1x2, and 3 1x1 to fill the plot. That's 11 varying fields yielding 36 crop.
36 crop minus the 11 seeds used to plant give us a total of 25. Or 2x2 x 3 = 15, 1x2 x 5 = 15, 1x1 x 3 = 6 Total yield 36 - 11 = 25.
Same results for plot #2 - 2x2 x 4 = 20, 1x2 x 2 = 6, 1x1 x 5 = 10 Total yield 36 - 11 = 25

Now I may have figured this all wrong, but check it to see. It looked like the net yield is the same no matter which strategy is used. So for those who are not blessed with the harvester the combined method 2x2+1x2+1x1 will be less clicks. Other than the saved clicks I see no difference between the two.

 

Came in to 3 event fields ready to harvest this morning -- got ZERO drops from all them (except sugar, etc.). Think I'm giving up on this event -- it's impossible to get ahead. Have to go out in a couple of hours anyway.

 

The game was down for me last night so I'm behind. The game only goes down for me during events. All other sites worked on my computer, except farmerama. Trying to play catch up now. Wish we could use CAC, sg, & ssg. I only have 24 drops so far and probably half of those are from my neighbors.

 

Sir Pipps - you are right. Without harvest buffs like CAC or PJ, net yields are the same.

I haven't worried about drops yet since I am still working on the venom bulbs to open the last section of land. They will only be a factor when I get to the point of growing the moonlight herbs.

I have completed 14 of the 100 steps of the event and have 33 drops, most of which came from neighbors and friends. With the quest rewards, I was able to upgrade one fairy den to giving 2 steps with the 2nd den still on 1 step. Every 4 hours, that means 3 steps advancement.

I haven't figured out if I am on track or not but will do that sometime today. If necessary, I will not do the final step of the quest as they are duplicate givers from the event but I sure would miss the PF. My main objective from the quest are the new trees so I have to keep growing the venom bulbs for land expansion and new trees.

Nope, no difference in yield this time. The benefits of using larger plot sizes for this event are less clicking, and less water and manure use. The benefit to using 1x1s is more opportunity for drops. 25 chances per area using 1x1s. But, for this event it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've tried it both ways, and am averaging 1 drop per unlocked area no matter what configuration I use.
Gifts from friends and neighbors are extra important for this one. Maybe they want us to go trick-or-treating through our neighborhoods for drops. And if you could actually send one to an extra friend/neighbour for one BB, that would be helpful. But, of course, you can't this time.

 

We would be extremely Lucky to make BBs ...not often we have movies to make them I was very Lucky to get one today ...we used to be able to get 4 a day ...NOT these days we don't ....we are lucky to get one ...I saved mine to get the recipes for the artisans ...cannot remember the last time i did that ...it's been that long
