I have been hunting for the thread that Farmerbroke (I think) started but can't find it anywhere. Has it been archived?

I have decided that, as long as I have all the necessary requirements to compete, I am prepared to clear my two later farms during Harvest Hoedown. If my latest farm has no chance, I will probably be having an animal, crop and fruit sale during HH to help others have a chance. :)

I am finding that three farms are not much fun - especially since harvest functions are not so easy to come by these days - so I am going to keep these two farms open just to send gifts (the reason they were originally started!) and do events not requiring too much work (breeding events and possibly MM). I know I cannot resist harvesting crops/animals/trees if they are in the field so my fields will be emptied. Same goes for my Cloud Rows. o_O

I will gift as much as I can each time there is a G&T but, with the limited Gift Licences, I cannot do it all in one go. :wuerg:

As Farmerbroke says, we cannot be sure there will be a Harvest Hoedown and we have no idea what the requirements will be but I am ready and willing to go for it ... if I have any chance whatsoever. I am looking forward to letting go ... xD

    Thanks Broke. ;)

As usual, I have already spent far too much of my morning on the farms (one of the reasons I am going to put two into semi-retirement!) but I will check out those threads later. For the moment, I am continuing with my normal strategy when without harvester functions, trees, comfort fields and animals/workshops. :music:

Thanks also for the encouragement! :inlove:

    8) Wow, illy!! It takes guts to risk it all - I'll surely be rooting for you, whatever you decide to do - even that you considered it!!:D:D

The main idea is to semi-retire my two younger farms, Farmlily. I wanted to participate in HH this year or next so that is just a side issue. I find I am spending way too much time on the farm, without being able to look at what is happening with my farming friends. I don't seem to get the harvester as much as I used to so most of my farming is manual! One farm is tough, three is excruciating! :wuerg:

I even started to "not harvest"! That was not really working as, being a little compulsive, I would still try to "do a bit" and ended up doing everything!o_O

So no real guts needed, just a decision made. My two farms will return to their original roots: farms created to gift during events. I will gift my neighbours in between but will not take on any new neighbours if any leave. :)

I have also realised that "baby" farm is just not going to be anywhere near in the same league as most contenders for a Top 500/Top 1000 if this is a feature of the HH (if in fact the HH does even take place!) so I have cleared almost everything out. Just waiting on the last animal pens and Cloud Rows (one long duration and three that I harvested before realising that I should have deleted them first!) to finish. :music:

All that I will leave is (or should that be are?) four walnut trees, 56 water towers in each of the three main fields and I will buy 100 corn and 100 tomatoes from the store each day (if I remember) and will keep my mill milling PF - I really do love breeding and when an event comes along that appeals, I will give it a go. Must remember to save a few animals! 8)

So Chevrefeuille will take it as close to the wire as is realistically possible. I am prepared to throw everything in that is required but if the heights are way too dizzy to compete, I will stop and have a clearance sale and give some farmers on those two markets a little thrill with silly prices! :inlove:

That's my intention and I can't wait to find out if there will be a Harvest Hoedown this year - I really hope so! Every year I have wanted to take part and never dared, now I am ready, willing and (maybe) able! xD

Edit: Irony - my "baby" farm just won my first Lighthouse Birdstone!8)

    8) Wonderful plan, illy!! I really hope you can make the HH....:)

I may follow in your footsteps with regard to breaking down 1 or 2 baby farms that are idle....sounds like a good thing to do. Hope we have another G&T soon.
Lol! Yes....so ironic about the lighthouse - I hope you get one sooooon!!!
