Does anyone know when the next Harvest Hoedown is scheduled?

I need to get rid of some crop inventory and it's too much to sell on market or getting rid of it in farmer's society quests. (I have an OCD thing about everything evening out.)

Is it crops that can be used for feed? in the artisan village for products? If so, you could make/mill something for sale..just look to see if it is better to sell the ingredients vs the final product. Is your crop trophy full?

I have seen listings for items up to 9,999. Do you have surplus larger than that?

I agree with Arielh - I'll back up my truck and rehome your unwanted goods to my barn. ;)

I can scrape up the big point one zero -- .10 for anything you want to sell. No questions asked. I'm broke :) Wish I was on your market.

That doesn't seem excessive to me :) I have more than 30000 carrots and lettuce, only 20000 wheat (working on growing more ;)). Of hay and oats I have over 10000. The rest I try to keep above 1000, with a goal of building up to at least 5000.

Having extra crops can be very profitable during events. Very often events require donation of 1000 strawberries or some other short time crop. Then the market price is often much higher than normal. Then you can easily earn a lot of cc if you have a well stocked barn. The long time crops are usually not that profitable.

If you want things to be even, you can try making different categories depending on how long the growing time is (for example 15 minutes-1 hour; 1 hour - 5 hours). Set a different number of how much you want for each category.

I agree with -Mir85-, the only one that even comes close is the lettuce. I try to keep a minimum of 1000 on wheat, carrots and lettuce and a minimum of 100 of anything else. I have a hard time doing that with all the ways I can use it.

I guess I'm weird, I like to have 100,000 of lettuce, wheat, carrots, oats, hay sunflowers and sorghum, working on it. :p I have 10,000 of crops up to fennel and want the rest to match it. I like 500 of each product except for tree products (i.e., honey), I have more and not worth selling with the low prices. 1,000 of regular animals and 500 of rares. Getting all that is probably OCD. xDxDxD ;)

I keep between 20,000 - 50,000 of lettuce, wheat and carrots. I keep over 11,000 of all crops on the 1st page of the seed menu and between 3,000 - 10,000 of the crops on the 2nd page of the seed menu. Plus, I keep 500 of all rare and Baha animals and over 1,000 of the regular/ breeding animals. I personally would not try for the top 500 during Harvest Hoedown, because far more than what I hoard would be needed to stand a chance of becoming the 500th farmer.

I hoard because it makes me happy, I always have what is needed during an event (except 2xs in 3 years), and I can make big CCs when a crop or animal is in high demand.

Hey to those OCD Farmers.....I am sure that you meant to say that your are FOCD as I am....As this is the Reason it good to have well stocked Farm...

I am a crop hoarder, as some of you know me from old forum.......I have been working on a set goal to have 100,000 of each crop on the first page, as i am almost there just just few more crops to 100,000

I have few crops which is over 200.000 in my barn too, quite a few of these crops are needed to make crafts or for events or to complete farm house orders.

My Next Aim to stock up Rare Animals to 2000, Next Breeding Animals such as Donkeys, Peacocks to 5000

I have been witness to Harvest Hoedown in last few years, You need massive amounts of barn stocks and millions of cc to have any chance to get into TOP 500 to win very special prize.

To Donate into Top 500 is based on Barn stock trade values of Crops, Products,Animals and Tree Fruits......But to those who buy into the markets to donate, will find it much harder this year cos the overall pricing of Crops, Products, Animal and Tree Fruits have gone up in the markets compare to pricing in last years Hoedown Event

From Time to Time you can make loads of cc when certain crops jumps in price due to crop shortage in the markets, These are usually Triggered By Events for example the recent event than needed lots of cranberries they were usually selling for about 30 to 40cc in the markets. Some Markets did get sold out and i manage to sell some over 220cc Each

This is one of the reason why i Hoard large volumes of Crops. As it has potential to help you make lots of cc. And I enjoy growing these and fun too cos i can harvest them often to my liking compared to Animals and Tree Fruits which you cant harvest often. Using CAC really does help boost your barn crop stocks or PJ too for those who cant make CAC yet or cant afford to buy CAC

Some Crops are worth stocking up than other crops, it all depends on Quests, Events, making Crafts, Filling Farm house orders, making Mill Feeds so Happy FOCD Farming :)

The harvest festival last year was end of November/start of December. The preview calender for October is out, and I don't think there is a harvest hoedown there. So maybe in November again. Keep an eye on the Grapevine section. Good luck with your crops :p

Wait until an event asks for 3,000 Raspberry. Then you will realise that you have NOTHING in stock.
I have 100,000+ of Lettuce, Wheat and Carrots...

You are not weird I like to have some a certain(big) amount in everything and sell when I have more than that certain amount(at least I am trying but with some animals or products it is difficult).:)

skyefaerie What exactly from the crops that you have want to sell?
The only thing that I see excessive is the lettuce even though players have even bigger amounts( I have about 40.000 lettuce)
My opinion is not to sell anything from your crops. Try to have more so you can be ready for the event quests;)

My FOCD, as Mooboy calls it, has my mind in the frame of:

For every 5 Spelt I should have:
    1,130 Lettuce
    565/each of Wheat, Carrots
    225 Hay
    125 Oats
    90 Sunflowers
    120 Sorghum
    60 Corn
    55/each of Blackberry, Celery
    50 Potatoes
    45/each of Hops, Cucumber, Rhubarb
    35 Fennel
    30/each of Soybeans, Orchids, Strawberries
    25/each of Tomatoes, Basil, Cranberries
20/each of Cornflowers, Violets, Gerbera, Gooseberries, Lavender, Sage, Peas, Lilac, Beans, Tulips, Cabbage, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lily of the Valley, Malt Grain, Mushrooms
15/each of Peony, Watermelons, Crop Circles, Pumpkins
    10/each of Radishes, Asparagus, Canola
5/each of Blueberries, Red Poppy, Roses, Lillies, Daffodils, Crop Squares, Oyster Mushrooms, Hazelnuts, Kohlrabi, Onions, Sugar Beet, Broccoli, Garlic, Red Cabbage, Spinach, Iris, Organic Cotton, Artichoke Raspberries, Barley, Leeks, Rye, Spelt
    3 Turkish Melissa.

So I was going to get rid of the excess crops in Harvest Hoedown. But after all the posts, looks like I'm stuck with them.
