After two days I had a total of four deluxe lures. Obviously I didn't have enough trees, (even though every field is lined with them!), So I gave up on that idea and went for the plain ol lure. I was able to get the cloud row and the giver! HA!

On the barn burner I read in here that it was possible to get the cloud row without dumping my barn. THANKS!

Both rows are up and collecting now.

I so totally agree!! and I will NOT be sitting my barn on fire.
That being the case I will be growing only 7750 Slippers so that I can get my sticker 10 PF and the giver Fall Cleaning. Past that would require things from my barn and I'm not in the giving mood
As for fishing... I'll do whatever I can but I will be fishing with Premium Lure (so I can play a bit) and hoping for a good aim . The metal disk are hard to come by even with help from friends and neighbors and what I feel are good trees.
I'm reading and have also in the past read conflicting opinions on the XL and XXL and time growing and the EPs giving and such as to what is the best way to go about growing tree for getting drops, so I'm not really clear on what is the best thing to do.
So I've decided to simply care for my farm. I've looked in the barn to see what trees I really need to grow to get the numbers up on my supply of fruit and put them out and the 'disk' will fall as they may.

I have both the CRs and am nearly finished Home Sweet Home, only about 6,500 Slipper Flowers required for House 3 and four days to grow them.

I am enjoying the Hooked on Ice Fishing, I have bought all but the Stars in Miscellaneous and I have also "My Boat is My Castle" so I could activate my CR. Now I will try to get some of the EP givers depending on how many coins I can win before the end of the event. My aim isn't too good but I am still pretty happy with my haul so far. I have mainly used Deluxe Lures but have been using up my Lure Feathers and making the basic Fishing Lures. I have a field of trees on Baha which give me about 45 Metal Discs but I seem to have a lot of Fishhooks and I prefer to use them up rather than have lots left at the end of the event.

As for the Top 3000, I find the prizes very disappointing so I have only donated a little of my barn stock, made one or two Quilts and donated those along with those I have won so far making my total donation just a little over 3 million. I don't see the same sort of excitement for this event that there usually is. Something (or maybe someone) is missing ...

Update on me, got both CR's up and running. I too got tons of fish hooks.... shame there isnt a converter here in the game to exchange them for metal disks or whatever... even with a high rate of fish hooks per metal or the other I think some of us wouldn't care of the ratio...lol but will more likely change hooks to mill so i can try to use them up... I also find the metal disks somewhat hard to get.. i have not been paying attention... so to be truthful on this I cant say.. I do have my CR going so it cant be to bad I don't think. Maybe some days drops are good and others not on the drops of metal disks..

Any how, Grats to all who got theirs and Keep going to the others... still some time left... May the fairy drop queen be on your side for the remainder of the events.

 

I save my metal discs for the deluxe lure, and then make the odd plain lure (since they do not require the metal discs at all) with leftover fish hooks, while saving enough for the next deluxe or two. Once I hit the end of this (won't be staying up too late, so when it's time for bed tonight, it's the end of the event for me), I'll be finishing off with plain old lures (or a premium if I have enough leftover metal discs).

Got all the old CRs from the fishing event up and running (didn't have any of them). Hoping to get enough lures today to grab a few extra treats as well.

Just trees I have collected and bought. Yeah, I meant to say those 3 fields were the only fields that you could plant event crops but could be used for trees if you wanted.

This event cycle has been not as productive as I hoped. Since RL was crazy - didn't notice that Fishing ends way before Home Sweet Home. I ripped up my field of trees so my metal disk drops took a tank. My clicks have been off in fishing - so didn't get as many points as wanted. I did acquire all CRs. Have one up and running and might be able to squeak a couple of givers for the others. BP doesn't miss opportunities - so I figure I can get the rest from G&T or a cloud row sale later.

Now its time to start contributing to Home Sweet Home

I am keeping an eye on Top 3000 wow now got 6 Neighbours there now. I am still unsure weather do partake this Top 3000 this year. Due to Prizes are on not really on my sought after list that actually help my farm just keep an eye on it as always in last 24 hours remaining there will huge donations into Top 3000 Number 1 donated 6.5 Billion worth

It may be a bit late to ask, but does anyone need any particular givers? I've got everything I want from the fishing shop and have loads of star coins left.

 

Not going for the top 3000.... I just donated quilts, made more from what I got in the silver boxes, donated, etc. Just trying what I could to get some gold crates.. all I wanted was a giraffe... 9 pens and I still didn't get one....
Lost my internet yesterday so I didn't get to use up my lures, didn't even get to harvest any of my other farms. At least I got the CR row and most goodies. But I'm greedy and wanted more...lol

 

I have a few quilts because I got them to get the cloud row. Should I be donating them before this event is over? Both farms got the cloud rows from the events...and that was as good as gets as far as I'm concerned.

 

Quilts will exchange at the end of the event....However if you should decide to donate them here is the list of what you could get in return..

Trishap58, THANK YOU for the reminder! I went ahead and donated the quilts and a few extra things I had in the barn...I got a few bonus goodies from those silver and gold crates! Woot!

 

Good advice. I will put those quilts I won into the trophy if they add up for a bonus crate.

Tried something with my hooked on fishing cloud row - I used Wilson that has limited number of harvests. Anyone try this for cloud rows? Will I need to replace him after he gives his limit - or now that he is floating high - he will keep on giving?

 

littletinybit... as long as you do not remove your Wilson from his perch up in the CR, he will fill that spot and help run that CR indefinitely. I like to always hoard a few of all the free givers for use in the CRs if needed (especially the 1x2s!), but not all of them can be used in the CRs. Don't ask me why some can and some can't... BP likes to keep us guessing, and annoyed
