Today it was 1,5 to 5 °C :wuerg: Ιt is cold for me because I am not used to this.
Here we can't stand this temperature, imagine if it were as much as pnp's and dgirl_200 's:wuerg::eek:
I played tennis today after school and my hands are in so much pain from the cold...

Yesterday was like a spring day, today was a bit colder but got out and mowed the grass on our old trusty sit-on Snapper mower. It got a bit clogged up at times but at least is is done- just did it on a number 3 cut, usually try and do it number 2. Rain forecast tomorrow so will not be able to rake it up. Just a few more acres to do now! Just joking, only about one acre.

It is -15 right now. We got another 4 inches of snow yesterday making our total this week a little more than 14 inches. The wood burning stove is working hard...At this rate, I need to hire some beavers to make me more timber to burn:p

Grass??? You mean there is grass somewhere under this snow???xD It was supposed to snow "only an inch" yesterday and I know very well it was more than an inch. Don't know what they are using for measurementso_Oo_O It's in the negatives this a.m. with a high of 2 today. Wind chill warning through Friday sometime. Took a break from those longjohns for a couple of days but looks like I will be wearing them again for the next few daysxDxD;)

8)Cold, Cold, record cold, and more cold....teens and 20's below zero wind chills. We might reach 0+ degrees tomorrow - and we're expecting more snow on the weekend to pile onto the three feet or so of snow that we already have!! With all that, I can't help thinking how softly beautiful it makes everything. I suppose that's to make up for everything else. And of course there's always the fun you can have - when it's warmer, at least above zero:wuerg: - playing in it; or watching it from inside from a cozy, warm place, laughing and grumbling and sharing stories of the struggles it all causes.
Soon (hopefully) Spring will begin to show a little green, the snow will turn into water for the plants and trees, and we'll be able to venture outside to breathe in that wonderful, unique smell of......new life pushing its way out of the soil and leftover snowbanks. The richness of that scent is one of the finest scents on earth - it is the true scent of the living, breathing Planet Earth renewing itself.
    I can hardly wait!!:inlove:

It's cold. The drivers at the track were complaining they couldn't feel their hands last night ;)

8)Guess what we had more of last night?! Yep - more of that pretty white stuff! So gorgeous!:)

It started getting light around 6 a.m., the grays of a foggy morning lightened with a white blanket; quiet and still. So serenely beautiful - like a shaded monochromatic painting! And the light kept painting it whiter and whiter. Now, two hours later, it is still all shades of gray, blending with the gray sky, and shot with the midnight green of fir trees and dark, wet charcoal browns of bare trees showing through the white blanket covering them. It's a wet snow, and has weighed down the branches till they almost have the form of weeping willows.

No one paints a world so inexpressively, heart movingly, completely beautifully, as God.
I hope I never forget this morning; this beauty.:inlove: I hope it lives in me forever.

8)Thank you for such a nice compliment, penguilnz. There are so many good 'authors' and poets here on this forum - I think they all deserve your thoughtful compliment.:) I just describe what I see, and it speaks for itself.;)

tlcmom did I read correctly that you live in the DC-metro area? I do, too, and you're totally right about the drivers around here! It snowed all day (again) yesterday here in Northern Virginia, and while completely gorgeous, it was also really heavy. I swear, my driveway gets longer when it's time to shovel it!
Kaydd2 I'm talking about the weather in my part of the United States. I hope that's okay with you.

Woke up to another 6 inches of snow Sunday morning...been like that all last week, but instead of near subzero temps and crazy wind tossing the snow in our faces it was a "balmy" 34°F! Heatwave! LOL The snow was plowed wearing a hoodie! It was nice to see the sun even for only one day. Back to 22°F this morning with wind chill advisory and snow showers. Snow showers planned all week but no word of any big storms :)

Oh, I learned over the weekend that we broke all our previous snow records. And we have so much snow piled up in the metro that the height is "bothering" the FAA...the snow field is near the airport.

    8) Just had a delightful moment amidst all this cold and snow - the animals are out and having fun, too! Two beautiful squirrels, fat with their winter coats, were taking a break from their morning food search, chasing each other around and around, up, down, and all over my deck! Sooo laughable; sooo lovable! Sooo totally cute!!:inlove::D
