How to get a wild boar?

So I have done some calculations and I will need 256 pigs, 64 brown pigs, 16 woolly pigs and 4 pot bellied pigs in order to get a wild boar. Is this correct?

 

You need 256 normal pigs to start with. It's not and all the others. From the 256 normal pigs you breed the higher leveled pigs. If you're lucky the breeding will skip a step and you'll get a pot-bellied pig instead of a wooly pig, for example.

If you wait a Baby Booming Day, you'll get more results, like 2 of the color you were supposed to get and there are even more options.

Or you could sell your brown pigs and then buy a wild boar, saving yourself some precious PF.

Hi oldmcdonald as Sheriziya told you you will have skips if you breed when there is a Baby Boom event, so it's better to breed then.
You should also know that if you have unlocked the baby boom rune in your tree of wisdom it is possible to get a skip.

Why do you want this wild boar?

 

Yes I agree with Ariel if you happy to use Power Feeds to get a Wild Boar wait until Baby Boom Event or you can sell things in the Market for CC used the Proceeds to Buy Breeding Animals as i do this alot is save me lot of Power Feeds this way.

you might with Breeding you could miss a skip for a Wild Boar get something higher, But to Make CC selling things in the Market and buy the Wild Boar in the Market this way ok

 

You need 256 pigs, that is correct.
From them, you will breed 64 brown pigs
and from them 16 wolly
and from them 6 pot bellied
and from them, finally, 1 wild boar.

Now, that is just a theory. In practice:
1) during breeding there is an effect of randomness. sometimes, instead of getting what you should, you will get something else.
it could be another basic animal, or colored animal different from expected.

2) as Arielh suggested, the best practice is to wait for Baby Boom Day (BBD), because for every breeding, you will get 2 animals instead of 1 (also have random effect in itself).
it will significantly save your Power Feed
