I am not receiving Alerts

Hello,
For a couple of weeks now I have not been receiving a lot of alerts when there are new posts in threads I'm watching. I get them on a hit and miss basis. For some threads I seem to get alerts any time there is a new post, but for other threads I'm not receiving alerts at all.

I tried unwatching and then watching again with no effect. Am I watching too many threads? I have also done all the usual things, empty cache, reload, etc., with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can check what you have enabled under your "Alert preferences" on your profile page to see what you have enabled being alerted to.

I checked my alert preferences and they are all selected, but I'm still not getting alerts. An example is the event strategy thread for the Easter Extravaganza. I have it selected as, "Watch thread", but I'm not receiving alerts when there are new posts there, but I received an alert when you posted on this thread.

Is it possible to have too many threads selected to watch? Thank you.

 

It may be that you are watching too many threads. It may be that it also may takes some time to be updated and you may need to keep refreshing the forum. I will leave this thread open until I can receive some clarification, although with the Easter Weekend, I am not sure how long that may be

I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your close ones! ​

All the alerts seem to be working fine for me, for all the threads / sections. There is no limit of threads you can follow, but you only get one notification for the first post made in the thread you follow, not for all the posts made. After you read it, while being logged in, if you continue to watch it, you should get another alert. Have you noticed problems with other threads or just the Easter Eggstravaganza strategy ?

I did have a very nice Easter, thank you. I hope you did too.

The alerts seem to be working better, but there are some that don't have posts very often that I still don't seem to be getting alerts for. This is a minor problem of inconvenience. I'm sure you have more important things on your mind at the moment. I can live with this.

I am also happy to hear the alerts are working better, but I will not close the thread before we manage to figure out what goes wrong ... there is no problem too small !

Could you let us know a few of the threads you have problems with? I will follow them as well and see if I get alerts for them.

Some of these are older and haven't had many recent posts, but others are quite active.
