Labor of Love Event Strategy

I started out the day needing close to 300 love poems, on both farms and 24 heart cake tins on one farm (SadieBAW, only farm needing heart cake tins). My overnight crop was oyster mushrooms, on both farms, on Baha, ginger on baw815 and lemongrass on SadieBAW. I had about ~36 cakes to be milled. After morning harvest, I had ~15 cakes to be milled. I planted refined crop squares, many thanks on that advice Mir , on both farms to bring the crop watered down to about 6 and a half hours. Planted tea on both farms on Baha. After harvesting tea on baw815 I am completely finished. I need about 34 love poems to finish on SadieBAW.

Why don't let all 3 pairs to be happy in this "love" event

Plus I was so close my FOCD overtook my better judgement.

Finished on my SadieBAW farm too. Boring, boring, boring . . . oh got some love poems, mill some love letters. Wait, boring, watching paint dry, boring, wait some more . . . oh, more love poems, mill some more love letters then floral gift or delicious gift. Oh, yippee, finally got enough to get cloud row and finish.

 

So, maybe I'm a little tired or just getting old but two screw ups, loosely connected! Yesterday I stated in this very thread that I was okay for drops ... wrong! Still needed about 100 Love Poems on both farms. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING, READ ON! The second or perhaps the first, too traumatised to fathom it out what came first! Why did I think the event finished today?

I will finish today, with a good 26 hours to spare. Wasted an extra CAC on both farms and even some Suzi's on this farm but I will comfortably finish and get the Cloud Rows today.

Another mystery, why I didn't go for those Cloud Rows immediately after Miss Kitty Cat instead of playing around with Mr Goaty Beard, goodness knows!

Arielh, just remember the ones you buy still need the 4 love letters to go with them I finished a few hours ago. I still have some luscious bouquets made, plenty of heart cakes but haven't decided whether I should just give the cat my love letters or feed the goat?

 

Finished. I milled all the extra event crop into love letters but I'm not milling another thing well other than feed for my Baha animals that is. This was certainly not the hardest event we have had and I can't quite put my finger on just why it was so tedious. I still think any event they threw at us was going to be a let down after the carnival of riches but this seemed even beyond that.

 

Also finished. Let's see. Carnival event, hard work for great prizes. Labor of Love, hard work for mediocre prizes.

 

I only need 10 more Floral gifts, which I will easily be able to get today, to finish the event. I have plenty of drops to finish.
I never thought I would see the day when Church bouquets would cost more than PPP, but it's here. In my market Church bouquets are selling for 6,000CCs and PPP is selling for just over 5,000CCs! I normally buy PPP any time I can find it for under 10,000 CCs, but I have been buying tons of it the last few days and the price just keeps going lower!

It's great for the buyers, but it's got to be hard on those selling PPP. I can't make it yet so I don't know what it takes to make it, but I can't imagine they are able to make much of a profit at those prices. I don't understand why people sell crafts for less than the cost to make them when you figure the value of the items required in the recipe.

EDIT: Church bouquets are now over 7,000 CCs each!

 

Done...finally. I'm proud of myself though I ended up with only 4 extra love letters and 20 love blossoms over what I needed. I usually screw up my math and either under produce or over produce the crop but I got this one pretty close. Nothing for you math wizards I know but my brain usually takes one look at numbers and goes into hiding.

Doc, PPP is probably so cheap cause people won it in the event. I pretty much always check out the prices for crafting items every time there is an event where there are prizes and stock up.

 

Doc, PPP is a level 5 bakery recipe, which was an event prize in the first My Little Pony event back in 2013, I think it was.
Each PPP requires 1 sponge cake dough, 50 apples, 10 cow milk, 150 vanilla, 15 eggs, 200 hay, and 50 salt. The grand prize for that event was a Cloud House pet, where Rainbow Dash comes out and flies around your field once every 36 hours, and gives a PPP. I remember this event fondly, as it was the first one I ever finished, because I really, really, really wanted the recipe (tho I've never used it, lol) and the Rainbow Dash pet.

 

It usually goes under the name Flower cloud row But Party Ticket cloud row 1 is the name used if you check the info in the magical stalk.

The goat is now completely fed! (Along with the cat and panda.) I think I'm fed up with this type of event!

Adding up the cost using current prices in my market, I get: 50 apples, 50 * 62 cc = 410 cc, 10 cow's milk at 424.00 cc = 4,240cc, 150 vanilla at 65 cc = 9,750 cc, 15 eggs at 230cc = 3,450cc, 200 hay at 39cc = 7,800cc, 50 salts at 00 (drops). Adding it up I get:

Granted this isn't exactly accurate and is skewed by the current price of eggs, but it just gives me a rough idea of the true market value of it. I too won several in the event, but since I use it virtually every time I use buffs I plan on keeping it and using it, or at least wait until the price goes up and sell it for more. On the other hand, if you get something for free, anything you get for it is profit. If you need money to finish the event, or just need money, it makes more sense.

Oh well, this is a game to be played by each person as they like.

 

And that is only half of it Doc! You also need to make a sponge cake as a base, which among other things take 5 ostrich eggs...

But don't expect the price to match the cost of the ingredients anytime soon. As spots mentioned, there is a pet that gives PPPs and we often win them in events and on the farm wheel. So hopefully no one crafts PPPs for sale.

 

Finished at last - and very glad it's over. Milled the few leftovers for the market, and happily back to regular farming!
