It's in the Event FAQs so I guess it's short term? But there is no date limit. Not sure what to think. And no OA. Or did I miss it?

I knew I was holding on to all that angora for a reason. Now I know why. LOL
Got some other products too. I need more chickens. I'll do that this weekend. I've got stuff to do the next couple of days.

Anybody have some numbers they want to share?

hopefully, pretty please, there is doing to be a BBD. I sure need it.
The most interesting price is the dog and his upgrade. So, not to much to breed if sticking with that.
With a BBD, I might try for completing.

 

I am waiting for Baby Boom too. I only have the scardy rabbit and will need to breed everything else.

We get 310 PF back in rewards that will help and let's hope we get great skips! I normally don't but I know others who post who do so don't give up hope yet.

If you are only after the dog kennel and upgrade, then just do the silvers to level 4 and you only have to breed ducks and sheep. Everything before that is just normal animals and products.

 

I have all the breeding animals I need for once just got all the angora and sheeps wool pens out to generate more of that

I am skipping this event because of the minimal prizes for the effort needed.
If a BBD comes along, then I might play.
I sold several of the listed breeders for inflated prices... to my benefit.

 

My strategy - save all my PF for the Cuckoo breeding to get me some more pink pens and bought all the colored breeding animals needed. I spent almost 3 Million on them. Now that I have all of the items needed just waiting for the event.

Me, too! I've been growing animals like crazy in hopes of the BBD. Blazie needs down feathers plus all the breeds of animals. Without a BBD, then this one is out for on the Diamond level. Daizy needs Sheep's Wool and Down Feathers, plus some a bunch of the breeds, too.

The sad part is that yesterday I blew a bunch of CC's on fulfilling some of the FSQ requiring those exact items in order to get Stars! Now I'm short. Sob!

Hi DarlingDaizy and Chookie Don't get into Despair...in Two Days they will announce BBD, as they always bring Breeding Event and FAQ couple days before BBD...

Do some Breeding to get the Needy Breeding Animals for The Last Candle Quest which is well worth doing as you will get back the CC you spend and up to 310 Power Feeds Back from Breeding during BBD, you might get very lucky with the breeding skips...

I Got all The Required Breeding Animals for the Quest except for 2 x Gumbo which I sold for less CC earlier this week silly me, as I sold my Surplus Breeding Animals while the prices are high made over 7 Million CC

Once the BBD Arrives the Prices of Gumbo, Scaredy, Pygmy Goat, Sailor Duck and Curly will start to fall as it is not that difficult to get with the Breeding Skips just need to indulge into some Animals and some Power Feeds. When The Last Candle Quest Starts I can almost finish the quest in one Go and Enjoy The Rewards, Plus it will help me make lots of CC too so this Event will be early Christmas Present to me..

 

For those who need to breed animals to get to the L4 bred animals requested and plan to actually breed them yourselves, my advice is: carefully choose what to breed and do not breed attempting to get to those L4s by breeding in succession. Check you market prices first and analyze what to breed and how intensely. Then sell whatever lower level bred animals you get of all the asked for kinds and buy with the proceeds the L4s. It's impossible to calculate now but most probably you'll get all you need with much much much less PFs than you would invest instead if you try to get the animals by breeding in succession, increasing the level you are breeding at each round.

An example: in my mkt, the price of 1 gumbo (320K CCs) is equivalent to the price of just 39 roasters (8,2K CCs); I checked that (just for fun: I have everything and need nothing), in this mkt, the best is to sell roasters -they go like water in the desert- and buy the gumbo: they have the best ratio -meaning the least cost-. Hence, once BBD is on, check prices of all 5 levels -L0 (the plain animal; in this case, chickens) through L4 (in this case, the gumbo)- and calculate how many of each of the lower breeding level animals equate the cost of the L4 one, the gumbo. If you have a situation similar to the one depicted by my mkt, then you put only then your loveshacks out and breed let's say 60% of that, that is, 24 huts with plain chickens; skips should give you probably a combination of roasters and silkies, maybe a crazy chicken or two, maybe, if extremely lucky, a gumbo or anything even higher (I feel they'll lower the chance of getting the L4s this time, so, beware and do not precipitate to sell anything higher than L4 at rather depressed prices). The combination of roasters and silkies most probably will buy you the gumbo once you sell them. In other words, with just 48 PFs, even possibly much less than that, you'll be done -for 1 gumbo-.

 

I hadn't planned to participate in the event, but looking at the requirements I see that I can complete:
- silver, gold and diamond stages of level 1
- silver stage of level 2

I'm a fairly poor farmer in that I don't have many products, so can't progress further, and can't afford to pay my way through the whole thing, so I'll just do those levels. That will get me:
- 25,500 EP
- 13,190 BEP
- 2130 CC
- 11 Party Spins
- 50 PF
- 1 Harvest Helper Coupon 3hr

Not a bad haul

 

You don't have to have many products on hand to do the silver levels. The silver levels only ask for 5 products so if you go ahead and put out your workshop pens you will have several by the end of the event. You would gain additional EP, BEP and CC. Just a thought.....

 

Aluntino I get that with regular breading we would need 64 roaster to get one gumbo, but with the BBD that number goes down to about 8 (or a couple more) roasters. Or am I not calculating it right? I am a newbie

4 chickens will give me 2 roaster or 1 roaster and 2 chickens
4 roasters will give me 2 silkies or 1 silkie and 2 chickens

 

That's true, but to do so would interrupt the current work I'm doing on my farm (which includes stocking up crops and feed). Once I've done this I'll participate more actively in events.

 

Thanks, @Aluntino - time to do some homework and check out what is needed for each animal. I've been playing the markets more since reading up on your posts about the market. I'm not very good with this stuff, but it IS getting a little easier!
