My simple strategy with skips :
4 animals L0 + 2 PFs = 2 animals L2 for twice, you may get 4 animals L2 with cost approx. 4 PFs.
Then breed again, 4 animals L2 + 2 PFs = 2 animals L4, you may get 2 animals L4 with total cost approx. 6 PFs.

Good points, but a MAJOR caution. Things change, within a few minutes sometimes. Don't count on the market to stay the same.
As an example, Gumbos are now 620,000 right now. Still good advice, but just beware.

Also, look at ALL the levels. As more and more people fill what they want, then those animal prices may drop.... the key, to watch carefully.

Of course prices change (mine was an example based on a photo of that moment, and I warned the calculation must be made right before starting to breed: with PinkJelly and pheromones, the time elapsed since you take that data from mkt and the moment you'll quote for sale is short; prices won't double in 30 min or less, unless there are very few offers, but that won't happen: people will be desperate to sell -they already are-).

But bred animals mkts behave almost always in the same way -I've been following them daily for 2 yrs now, including events that ask for any of them-: once BBD is on, prices of the requested L4 animals will drop, while it's on, till the last available day to complete the tasks of the quest, when they'll go up again -though probably (it'll depend on how many L4s will come out from breeding, and I suspect developers will lower the chance) not to the levels you're seeing now because many of those who had gotten the L4s during BBD will be in panic to sell whereas now rush, anxiety and a different panic (the one of those who fear not to get them) prevail-. At the same time, L1, L2, L3 animals, especially L1s, will most probably keep a somewhat high price, because they are the main "raw material" -along with PF- for the "do-it-yourself" types. Most probably, towards mid-BBD, the number of L1 animals needed to buy one L4 will drop; the important thing is the ratio, how many bred animals of the lower levels, for each of those lower levels, are needed to buy 1 L4, and that's determined by that specific mkt's dynamics.

Anyway, whatever the ratios will be, the idea I tried to convey is that anyone planning to breed a bit or a lot can get the most of that breeding by carefully picking what to breed on an informed decision basis: informed by what the mkt is telling; that is, to get the most of every PF couple s/he may decide to invest, along with saving PF, in a degree that will depend on each mkt but that for sure will mean less PF than otherwise.

 

It was the fastest event I ever participated in! Lovely prizes! My strategy was to sell excess of animals required for the quest and buy one Pigmy goat and one Sailor duck I was short in. I am 99.99% sure there will be no Baby Boom this weekend unless the BigPoint Team decided to give us another Christmas present which I am in doubt. 310 power-feed given for only 10 breeding animals and BBD at the same time is far too generous. I do not remember any BBD for such events (it is NOT new animal breeding event!). We will see

I am in no way disagreeing, its just that timing is very important. Anyone not used to highly dynamic markets should be advised just to pay attention. Right now, for example, I was going to sell some Mallards, but the price has gone down a bit and so I am waiting until later, since I have the time to do so. I might wait only 15 minutes or it might be a couple of hours.
That is all, I just wanted to highlight that.

So I sold a few animals, I bought a few animals, I even did the unthinkable...I breed 4 trix (and it's not BBD). But I'm finished and now I can wait for BBD and concentrate on all my other quests.

Well I am awaiting products to drop from my pens - I have a fair few stables out and if it wasn't for those I'd be done!

 

Oh yay! Lots of little ducks and rabbits and goats are all lined up and ready to go! Waiting for Friday. Yay us DarlingDaizy!

 

I did up to level 3 of the event, I really want to do the whole event but levels 4 and 5 prizes just don't cut it in my book.

 

What a wonderful event for this busy time of year!! So nice to see one that doesn't keep you tied to the game all day to harvest crops at just the right time to make enough for the deliveries. The few products that I didn't have in the barn will be easy enough to produce during the event.

Also great to see BBD coming up. Now I have a chance to get at least some of the 5 breeding animals I'm short on. The prices in the market are still way out of my reach. Fingers crossed hoping for some good skips during BBD.

Well, I finished the event on both farms. I had most of the breeding animals on this one, had to buy a few more on the other one but basically, finished before I noticed the CCs were gone!

Now, what to do, what to do? I love BB weekend and I have about 600 PF, lots of pheromones - but I really want to finish those last cuckoo FSQs and the next one that comes along so I am all caught up. But can I resist ... Watch this space!

bought the misisng scarely yesterday. Really regret not bought it at morning time,
when afternoon go up 50% , I pay over 200000CC, Still far cheaper than now. It
come to 540000CC.
This morning, I bought my missing sailor duck. Yesterday is over 700,000. This
morning I saw offer just 515,000. I grab it.
I sold some pygmy, 1 Gumbo, Cover my cost & get some CC remain.
So, finished the event. Now I got over 700PF, I never had so many PF on hand.
Weekend BBD, I will try to get close to piggy bank, at least I had 1 flying pig on hand.
