    In the December Preview thread, it lists a "Christmas Layer" and a "New Years Layer"? My question is, what are "Layer Events"?

    It means that it is not a FSQ event like the dog breeding event. Usually it means that there is a separate window (or layer) where you pay the event requirements. The event mechanics can still vary a lot. One example is the mushroom event where you just had to grow the event crops and donate them. In the Egypt event there were randomized requirements, so you didn't quite know what it would ask for. In the beaver breeding event there was a global challenge that counted the donations of all players. So the fact that it is a layer event doesn't tell us much, but it leaves room for something interesting :)
