    Hello everyone !!
I'm back once again.I'm sorry,I leave the game every time without telling anybody but the thing is I don't know why I leave it regularly and then came back instantly??o_O.Also,I lose my neighbors every time.
    Finally,It's player's introduction from hopy,
First,I thought to post it in the players introduction section but then I thought not to post it there because it's not only a players introduction but some secrets of my life which I've always kept inside me.There are so many of them that now they are not adjusting inside my little body.:pThey keep quarreling inside me and also not allowing more because there's no space left.xD

So,a little about me............. I'm probably too shy......and that's why took so long to think about giving my introduction.I'm currently living in my homeland. I think so much before speaking that the person to whom I talk sometimes left.:oops: My parents want me to become a doctor but I'm not interested in it.Although,I've sibling but I'm not too close to them.Maybe because two of them are in hostel for their studies and the two, younger ones, are always busy fighting with one another. I've some friends at school but there perspective is total different from me.

Too many not good things about me,huh.....Actually,the problem is me and the truth and conclusion to all this is that I am not social.:(

Now,what I'm from inside is that I love singing, dancing in a locked room with no windows thus no chance for anybody to sneak inside to hear me singing and see me dancing.(that doesn't mean that I'm a bad dancer and singer !! ):music:
Also I love painting, sketching, writing poems. I've even write my own songs.I like geography, especially studying about maps.I can even draw world map with capitals of all countries(without seeing);)

And the major thing is that I L:inlove:ve K-Pop.I watch almost 40 groups till now.Maybe today,I start to watch a new group too.
I started to like k-pop in May (last year) and now i'm so into it that there's no chance to leave it.

Hopy - Please be careful on the internet!!!!!! Please edit your post and take off your age, please.

I am glad you feel comfortable to share your thoughts with us. Thank you for sharing them with us. I have found much healing from sharing my thoughts here, but please be careful!!! Most of the people here are extremely kind and positive, but some are not. I do not want you to get upset, if someone isn't too nice.

I have 2 pieces of advice. Always listen to your parents and always follow your heart. You can do both by becoming a singing/ dancing Doctor.

Singing and dancing are fun, but they don't pay the bills unless you are extremely talented and lucky. It is hard to be paid as a singer and dancer, if you never leave your room. :p

I have been an artist all my life. I studied art at a University and as of today, I have never sold anything. This has made it difficult for me to support myself.

I don't know your parents, but I am sure they want you to be a doctor so you can support yourself financially. Doing so makes life easier and far more enjoyable.

If you have to work hard scraping money together just to live. I think this would make it very difficult to want to sing and dance. That is what happened with me and my art.

    Take care!!!!!!

    Hi hopy14 !
sglick has given you very good advice. Think of it. The world is not rosy as it seems to be. You will find it out when you step into the real world once you have finished studying. That will be the time when you got to know what responsibilities, obligations, sense of duty, achievement, self sufficiency etc., are and what your needs are. The real education starts then onwards. Charcters, skills, culture, courage, kindness etc., which you build within yourself in your childhood, teenage & youth will be your assest. So build yourself in all directions. Read lots of biographies, autobiographies of good people, literature, language, history etc., know your family, relations, friends, community & society and try to understand them. It is easy to acquire these things when you are young. Don't think this as an advice, just a mere conversation. Think about it & take what you find reasonable and leave others.

Few lines from the poem IF by Rudyard Kipling.

    .................
    If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
    ............
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Hopy - I didn't mean to scare you. I just want you to be cautious and don't give too much of your self away.

Since most of my friends on this forum already know, I suffer from depression and I am on disability. Which means my Government gives me money so I can live. I am unable to work to support myself.

There is no one thing that caused this to happen. I tried real hard not to get to this point where I could not support myself, but I did. I have decided to be as helpful to society as I can which is why I make the effort to paint.

I am glad you are taking the Pre-med classes. This will give you more chances.

I wish I had had adults in my life when I was your age who would have encouraged me to learn some practical skills. Who knows how my life could have changed.

I just know from my own experiences and what I have observed from other people. The sooner someone can decide their career path when they are young. A path that actually makes money. They have more of a chance to have a happier life.

You can always sing and dance!

    I want to ask a question,everyone...........
Who of you are k-pop fans and who aren't?

I'm afraid I'm too old to even know what k-pop is, really. :p I think I remember seeing it mentioned online, isn't it Korean? I personally enjoy many styles of music, from country western (modern, not the older stuff) to contemporary Christian. Tho I can't tell you how depressed I get when I hear the music I loved as a teen...on the oldies station. o_O:cry:xD:cry:

There are all kinds of doctors, hopy. Maybe you could find a way to combine your love of song and dance with medicine, like maybe a therapist of some kind, speech, physical, whatever? While I agree that it's important to plan for your future, I would caution against pursuing a path strictly because your parents desire it. If you are unhappy in your life's work, it will greatly affect your ability to be happy in life. Maybe you could check out options that would be a compromise both you and your parents can live with.

As for being anti-social, I would have to disagree with you there. ;) Shyness doesn't mean anti-social, spoken from a person who would hide behind her mother's legs as a child when meeting new people xD. From what I've seen here on the farm, you're not asocial; just the opposite. You're bright, energetic, and friendly. :) Sometimes it just takes the right format to allow your inner you to shine. I grew up so shy, I had people tell me, after they got to know me, they first thought I was a snob because I wouldn't talk. It took years to force myself out of that place, to where I can speak to strangers easily, and even be goofy here with my farm friends. Not close to your siblings? Been there, done that, lol. Doesn't mean you don't love them, just not everybody has close relations to brothers/sisters, even if they wish to. Age and maturity can change that. And honestly, I doubt there's a girl here who hasn't shut herself in her room to dance in front of the mirror ;), maybe even the guys too, but you'd have to ask them, lol. So you sound like a basically typical young person to me. :music: sglick and 12ss12 are correct that life will be bringing more and more responsibilities and obligations, but don't give up the things you love, keep them always a part of you, whether you pursue a career in them or not. Being a writer myself, I know how lost I would be if I didn't have that outlet, so always cherish the things that make you unique and allow you to be who you are. You don't have to be able to sell anything to find value in it (you either, sglick ;):inlove:), the value is in what it does for you inside.

Okay, enough rambling, let's play some music! Paging Dr. DJ, paging Dr. DJ! xD

Talking in writing is easy but trust me if someday I meet you in person,I wouldn't be able to talk to you like I'm doing now.I hope so that your saying become true, "Age and maturity can change that".:p;)

You are a writer !! I love writing essays.I want to participate in online competitions, even I participated in one but couldn't make it.:(This year, after my exams I'm going to give it a second try.

On your request;).......I'm posting my favorite song right now(along with many others):p

Spot - I totally agree. You were able the say the things I was trying to say. Balance is key!!!

My personality on-line in this forum is totally different than I am in RL. I have learned on this forum that I can be positive and friendly. I try to be this way in RL, but I am just not able to pull it off.

Hopy - Your personality is still developing and will both change and stay the same as you have new experiences. Keep exploring and trying new things till you find what suites you.

I did watch it. His dancing is beautiful and he has a positive message which I like, but it is not my kind of video. I like that you like it. :)

One other thing I want to mention to you is the reason that I talk so openly about my depression. I revival this about myself to let you that I am no big authority on life!!!

I can tell that you are becoming to value what I say which is scary for me. I think that you should be listening to your own heart and to your parents who know you and love you.

I agree with Spots on this one, Slick a path that makes money doesn't offer a happier life.

Hopy14 I have always admired you, you are full of life!
Don't let anyone force you to chose a certain job. You need to be sure that you want it.
Last year this exact day the results of my exams were announced and I had done so well, almost all my family members pressured me to go to Law school. To be a lawyer wasn't never my dream, but I also never knew what I wanted. They indeed persuaded me to apply for Law school as my first option. I had told them though that if I don't like it I would change university next year(I could do that without re-writing exams). In August the results were announced and I didn't pass to Law school just for one digit of my grade! Other students would be devastated to be so close but not get in, but I wasn't I knew it was a sign that I wasn't meant to pass to Law school and go to a small city in Northern Greece. So I passed to Athens in the department of International and European Studies. It is a quite new university and I didn't know about it two years ago. But it sounded so interesting and indeed it was! I moved in Athens in October 2017 and I started university. From the first week I understood that I was meant to pass to this department. I loved everything about it! We learn about other countries we have many different subjects and in Athens there are so many things to do, considering I come from a very small island. So my first year in university was a great one! I studied what I love, I met new people I did so many interesting things. I wouldn't change that for anything.
So my point is that sometimes life brings things the way they should be but we should also try to follow our dreams. And another advice if we are doing now what we love we will find to do something to do in the future, we should not care always about our future job our future life, what matters is to be happy and satisfied with what we have now and always try to get more and more knowledge because knowledge will help us in the future.

Good luck to your rest of the exams Hopy! Let us know how it goes:) Good idea to change the title of the thread;)

Some say... "Do what you love, you will never work a day in your life".
The philosopher Joseph Campbell was frequently quoted as saying... "Do what you love, the money will follow". I have to disagree with him on that. sglick and I have that in common.

One matter to consider... Are your parents wanting you to be a doctor because you have an aptitude and interest in science? Or are they wanting you to be rich? Or are they wanting to live their life through you? Or are they wanting you to be in an honorable profession? In other words why do they want you to be a doctor? There are probably ways to make all of you happy if you discuss the core issues.

Music and dance are great. Never give them up. As far as making a living from them... very difficult. Obviously there are some who manage.
Pre-med is great... if you have an aptitude for it. What is the thought with pre-med... surgeon... pediatrician... oncologist? There are other options. I believe someone already mentioned psychologist. Imagine being a psychologist that helps people overcome their depression / shyness / introversion through music and dance? There are people that do that. If you are not already doing so consider taking music and dance as your electives. (I'm assuming the schools in other countries are similar to the USA.) Or you could end up selling medical equipment, teaching nutrition, goind research (cancer, diabetes, heart disease) etc. There are lots of possibilities. If YOU like pre-med then study it and let it take you where your passion lies.

The good news is... you don't have to make a final decision today, I hope. You can start out pre-med and change your mind after a year, two, three. You can even change your mind 20 years from now. It can be very difficult to go from well paid doctor to working in a non-profit. But it can be done if it's truly important to you.

    Hello everyone !!
I'm so thankful to all of you who are giving me advises and are encouraging me.

Actually,I want to say the same thing to my parents. But I can understand, you all are right in your own ways. Arielh is taking my side because she faces the same thing but others have face life after that, which is called practical life where you've to earn enough money to support your family.

There isn't a serious reason. It's because I belong to a family which already has 7 doctors and my two older siblings are also in medical college. They think that its an honorable profession and I'll be at ease in future.

I've taken a decision.Do you want to know? Also I want suggestions about it.Will you help me?:)
