Mauna Candy giver

Hello wonderful mods! Hope you are catching lots of goodies in the parade! I was hoping you could help me with a problem? I just placed my Mauna Candy I giver in my Shipwreck Bay, then placed the Mauna Candy III giver on top of it. I did not place giver II on it at all, just put the III upgrade on it, and it accepted it. For a few seconds, anyway . After less than 30 seconds, I'd say, my III upgrade turned into a II upgrade (a step backwards) without my having done anything to cause it. The II upgrade I won from the float is still in my inventory, but the III is not. I tried refreshing my game, but it still shows as the Mauna Candy II, not III. Could you look into this for me and help my find my lost candy volcano? It's not every day you get a mountain that spews candy and BEP. In the meantime, enjoy an extra goody basket to help keep your strength up while you search.

 

I think I've read somewhere that if you put the II over the III that turned into a II, it will turn into a III.
Let's see if a mod can confirm that, cuz I'm just a player.

I now have my III giver, but now my II giver is missing from my inventory (refreshed, still gone). Not a huge concern, but can you tell me, mods, if this is what is supposed to happen? I guess I thought it was like animal/production pens, where you don't need to place the yellow to put the highest color, say red, on it, just need the base and the red, and the in between colors stay in inventory.
