Feedback Menagerie

I was really excited about the store houses. BUT... ... 500 stars is an awful lot!!! The Menagerie Quest are crazy. Any of that will take a lot of time... ... and well some people have to work and tend the kids. SMH (shaking my head) I wanted about 4-5 of them. Looks like I'll be lucky to have one (probably have to buy that) and when will I have the time to open the added slots???? Oh well life goes on guess I'll just keep trudging along. I love my farms and already speed WAY to much time there. HAPPY FARMING TO ONE AND ALL!!! Be Blessed...

Thank you all for the early feedback provided!

I apologise for anything that might have not been clear in the FAQ and causing misunderstanding, but there are a few things that need to be pointed out : As soon as the Menagerie is released, you will be able to get a maximum of 2 Menageries - one for 500 stars, one for 299 BBs. Therefore, you can have 1 or 2 Menageries for now, and you can choose to place them on your main lands.

These 2 options are individual - you can choose to spend just stars for getting 1 Menagerie, you can choose to spend just BBs for getting 1 Menagerie, or you can choose to spend both stars and BBs to get 2 of them, which is the maximum you can get for now.

The Menagerie has by default 4 slots available, so you can place 4 stables / Menagerie; by completing the quest you can win Blueprints and by harvesting the Menagerie you can get Power Drills as drops - then soon you can use these along with other tools (wood boards and wooden mallets) to upgrade the Menagerie with 2 additional slots, then with 2 more slots - reaching a total capacity of 8 slots (stable slots) / Menagerie.

Just let the dev's know that the added space/value these provide are profusely outweighed by their exorbitant cost. Really quite a let down.

But, let them know the concept was a great idea. The price point is where the team failed.

 

Don't think I want a menagerie in these terms.
Too many woodboards, too many BB's, too many stars, too many breeding animals, too many of everything to save only seven spaces.
I'm really saving all of my stuff until I'm sure how it will be with the workshop and tree menagerie.

It's just too much these days how BP pushes us to the limit.
You can take your greediness and sell it elsewhere!

I'm sorry too.

I too was really looking forward to this, but the fact that it will take that many stars makes it very difficult for me to get one. I will not be the only one.

I want to participate in this wonderful new thing, and although BP may think I CAN because I can choose to spend stars,...well, I've got about 250 stars, and to get at least that many more will take me at least another year.

It took me that long to get this many, after spending them all AND having done most of the easier quest parts in the FS. To get that many again, .... means that I cannot participate now, as I won't have that many stars any time soon.

That is why I feel let down. I can NOT get a menagerie any time soon, therefore I feel excluded. Mostly too because it was announced as this cool new feature... and I guess I expected to have access to it. I didn't expect to have to buy it, other than a normal quest.

I'm sorry but I have to agree...this is an epic fail. The costs of the Menagerie far outweigh the good.
Asking for that many breeding animals and supplies for the upgrades is just way to much. You have to take into account the amount of PF that has already been spent on these animals.
It seems more and more that we are asked to spend RL funds, whether it's on more PF for breeding animals SG sales, new trees, new animals or now a 2nd menagerie. Just think of the tool box sales lower level farms will buy. Do not try to get greedy. I was shocked when I saw the price when I tried to hatch my new pet early.
The only good use I can see would be if I put my pink or neons in it and quite frankly I like being able to see these....they are pretty. If I want rare animals I put out a field of them, not just 8, I already have a full inventory. I thought that was the point behind this.

Please consider adjusting the requirements, otherwise I'm afraid this is just not a good fit for a really great game.

people, why worry ?, look do as me, use the magic glade for normal fields & or trees, green meadow for super fields, mainland for stables, workshops, when you don't need farms for quests or week events why lettin' them ?, and for bananarama do the same
i'm irinaursskgb at the game, and i'm 83 lvl

 

Love the concept but the price is just too much for casual farmers or new players (500 stars seriosuly?) .
I suggest making the first menagerie affordable, like requiring tools such as nails, wood etc. And upgrades can be a little more expensive like requiring stars or bb.

After all menagerie is supposed to be player-friendly right? And it is considered a necessity for a lot of the players rather than a luxury item.

I really hope farmerama can consider changing their initial plan before launching it.

Another few fields would have been better...i like seeing my animals on the field ...After all it is a farm game we are playing ...Instead of in little boxes...which is called factory farming

Am VERY much against Factory farming ...i think it very cruel And for farmerama to even be putting this into the game ..disgusts me
So i will play the old version of the game and forget the menagerie even exists

I live in a farming community where the animals are free to run about in the fields
But am very interested in the arboretum if that is 500 stars ...i could make that total with from fruit in FS

 

This is a good concept but needs a big re-think regarding cost and the way it works. Being able to put in just 4 pens out of the 639 I have in store is not really going to make much difference and the amount of stuff needed to open more slots is ridiculous. Unfortunately, it is this sort of thing that will put some people off playing the game. I am sure a much lesser cost would see many more players willing to spend their stars and BBs which would be a win-win situation for both us and BP.

I like the general idea. I do not want more fields. We have plenty!

I think giving the chance to get 2 is enough.
Otherwise the impact on the prices of feed and animals in our already scarce markets would have been catastrophic.

I will unlock the menagerie from the tree of wisdom.
It is indeed a lot of stars but it will be benefitial in a medium-long term.
I didn't expect this high amount of stars, simply cause in the last 2 years there have been some stars-less events or events with just 10 stars as a reward. Only long time players can afford to spend that.

I do not like placing animals in my fields but I will always place this one.
It can help me in an event when specific animals are required or just now with frogs.

It will also be nice not to have to tear the farm apart due to an event. Imagine 8 chicken neons all together. The manure obtained every hour will give you extra CC while you deal with the event crops. I beileve neons will be in high demand in the next B&T (as always have).

The quest is not as demanding as it looks.
Just doing the silver in tasks 1&2 + the whole task 3, will give you enough blueprints to get the orange upgrade.
Getting the drill will be more complicated as we do not know wheter the menagerie yields one every time or its random.

Remember that the greenhouse can help with the woodboards. Strawberries is a cheap start.

I have enough stars but its too expensive and not for me. If it hold just four stalls I really dont see the point? I agree with most of the comments above and it is a good idea but I will never have that many BBs to get a second menagerie. I will bide my time and watch this thread for user comments once it is released.

 

Apparently after playing for over 2 years and getting to level 93, I'm not considered a long time player.
I obviously don't spend enough Real Money on the game. (I do spend real money, I'm just not independently wealthy.)

(IE: OA stating "

• The requirements are higher than usual – but we wanted to offer a new challenge also for our long time and high level users.")
