Merry Pirate Outing - Strategy Thread

Thanks Habalala for all your work AND the reminder that without buffs plot size doesn't matter. I've had 1 x 1 plots out, which I will switch to larger plots after the next harvest. Dirty trick BP played on us by getting hopes up for a special buff, but only available if you buy the giant basket for 12.99. I don't spend money on events unless I'm really, really close to getting something I want and won't quite make it.

My Strategy;

For CR (75 Right + 25 Left tasks)

For complete right side -75 tasks- needs:
1020x Hangloosia (total 1860x Hangloosia)
215x open coconuts
14x Surfboard (for 840 Hangloosia + 560 Wooden Planks)
+Barn items

For left side -25 tasks- needs:
1,085x Prismberries
96x open coconuts
115x Wooden Planks
+ Barn items

Totals to get CR:
1,860x Hangloosia
1,085x Prismberries
311x Open Coconuts
675x Wooden Planks

Due to health and other RL issues I figured I'll miss out on at least 4 harvests; going for the short timed crop seems to fit the best for me, timewise.

Could you please point me about the Beach Bar upgrades?
The item only gives something (one crate) after 3 courtains on it, mayimum or that are 5 curtains.
2 upgrades are in the support quest, 4. gold and 6. silver.
In the biggest buyable basket there are 3 upgrades.

Does this mean what I think it does? Either I invest money, buy the big basket, do 5 tasks in the main event and get a Beach Bar that gives one crate per day. No further upgrades are needed. Or I do 5 tasks, complete those parts of the support quest, and from that point no matter what I do the best I can get is a pile of Ep / Tep.
Do I understand right? If so, I won't bother about upgrading the Bar at all.

you are correct if you complete 5 tasks on the main event you recieve the beach bar giver. On the companion quest you recieve 2 more upgrades which will give you 10 open coconuts every 22 hours plus EP. If you care to spend real money, which Im definately not, and buy the largest basket you recieve 3 more upgrades which when harvested every 22 hours you recieve a crate of merry pirates which gives you a fruity pancake along with 10 coconuts. The fruity pancakes gives you +1 harvest for 6 hours on event playfield.

The main complaint from me and others is how BP expect you to spend real money all the time to gain a distinct advantage.

On another point, how are folk doing. Ive completed 22 tasks in total which I dont know if its good or bad. Me thinks this will be another non completed event for me personally, which is common these days for some reason

 

Phoenixboy: I'm plodding along, done 24 tasks so far but I have also done the first four levels of the companion quest.

Not really trying as I think it is not possible to get enough crops (let alone drops!) with the event timescale without buying baskets (which is completely out of the question!) and as the prizes are so mwah, I am just going through the motions while doing what I want on my other fields.
I agree that this will be at least one uncompleted event and maybe an uncompleted companion quest ... who knows?

 

must be about par, have completed 26 and first 4 quest (70%). Using the event as a chance to restock on farm and baha

As both the pancakes and the opennuts are for this event only, I don't consider them 'reward'. They are very useful for moving towards - ehm, nothing in sight. The only good thing in this event seemed to be the Beach Bar from upgrade 3.

 

So the only way we can get the fruity pancake for the +1 harvest is to buy that 12.99 basket? Not cool. The most I'd spend for something like that would be 1.99. (Maybe 4.99 tops if I was extremely close to finishing.)

You are a lot further along than me. I'm only at 16 tasks finished on main bar (12 on left, 4 on right) lol. But I've been working on the companion quest to get the beach bar upgrades. Good luck with the rest of the event, Neighbor!!

 

Thats correct gardengal to get the fruity pancake is to purchase the large basket.....be interesting to see if this is the way BP are heading regarding the events. As others have said not going to stress in completing events if only way to finish is to use hard earned cash

 

Yep, we can take it easy & just see how far we can go @phoenixboy12 Because I won't be spending all that $$
Up to 26 tasks done now. I do hope to finish the event though, fingers crossed!

I have 40 done. Keep getting up at night. Not really worried about quest. Have done a few levels. Will do what I can and not worry about rest. My FOCD doesn't seem to be kicking in lately.

 

I can't get anywhere with this, no buffs, no sg, and watching paint dry again. I remember the previous ones that I also failed to finish.
Got 700 prismberry... about a quarter of what I need and 54 hours to go...sad. I will remind myself that I'll skip these from now on.

 

I am 7 prismberries (5 of which I hope will be freebies!) away from finishing the quest ... I am determined to finish something!

As for the main event, I have done 56 tasks and we are two thirds of the way through the event. In theory, I should finish 84 games, but as crop requirements get higher as we progress, I can't really use this logic!
I will keep planting, harvesting, donating, milling as needed and see how far this gets me!
I would probably have skipped this one if it wasn't using the event field and hadn't had drops coming from all over the place.

very similar 45 prismberries away and finished 60 on task bar

 

Quest done and finished 62 on the task bar. So very even.

 

I've given up on the CR, too many missed harvests due to life. Like going to bed 40min before it's done and such.
It's okay. I'll take what I can get, and be happy with it

Just now back from examination centre. Happy to return back to normal life & the game. I think I will start with future events and skip this event. Can't make out head or tail of anything I read. Have to come back to normal understanding mode.
