Feedback Mini Events: May 2017

Howdy Farmers,

Please post your constructive comments, positive and negative, regarding the mini events going on in May2017, in this Feedback thread.

Please be sure to bring arguments for supporting your statements, simple comments saying you like it or hate it will not help the Team understand what goes great, and what needs to be looked into, when planning future mini events.

General Comments re G&T:
My wishlists are the same for all my farms:
Bladdernut, Sandalwood and Nightgleam
Axolotl
Cloud Row EP's for MM: Skull Candle, Cauldron Cat, Cerberus, Spider Web and the Dracula Bunny

Lately have not been able to make any trades -- maybe when the G&T is merged if it is (rumored that it will be)

 

Love, Love, LOVE Gift & Trade. Not only was I able to get some things I was sorely needing to advance myself in quests, but I was also able to help a few other farmers as well. Fantastic event.

 

I like the offerings in the farm express -- this time the offerings were very worthwhile, at least for those of us longer time players who have excess stables (expecially those yellow upgrades!).

One small dislike -- I would like to see what I got right away, rather than having to wait another 4 hours. We already have to wait. Knowing immediately what we won makes a difference in which group we pick. Also, the extra wait just seems pointless.

 

I love the chance to recycle stables on the train. A few changes to the structure of the mini event would make it even more appealing (IMHO).

I would like to see:
When the train returns after an hour, immediate results. We already have something similar with Pick a Stable spree.
Please allow more than one loading of the train at a time (batch loading).
The original train began with 6 windows and the smallest donation of 250 value points. Over time, the train has required higher donation values but the pens themselves have not changed. Please consider adding another window or two.

 

I don't like it when so many mini events run at the same time. It slows my computer way down

 

Have been trading pens/workshops on the train but just can't get a Safe on any of my 3 farms -- must be rare. Got the new Newt pen though for 2 farms.

UPDATE 1: Still no Safe on any of my farms -- 15 hours left.

UPDATE 2: Finally received a Safe

Farm 1 - 1 Newt 1 Safe
Farm 2 - 0 Newt 0 Safe
Farm 3 - 2 Newt 0 Safe

UPDATE 3: Last train filled up for one more chance -- so far results are same as above (for new items). Will have to wait to harvest those on my field/inventory to see if I got anymore.

Did receive 1 Pink Cow that I can place on field to go with the Neon one that I had but mostly received stables that just go into inventory (Orange Goose, Orange Beehives, Skunks).

Also received Pink Turkey and Pink Pig that I may be able to trade during G&T (already have Neons for both of these).

Overall the train was nice because it allowed us a chance to get new or better pens for pens/workshops that we no longer wanted. Even though some trades were worse (traded an Orange pen plus regular or Yellow and received an Orange pen/workshop in exchange) it was still worth it because those were just sitting in my inventory anyway and I couldn't make any trades for them during G&T.

UPDATE 4: Last harvest from train
Farm 1: 1 Newt 1 Safe (no changes)
Farm 2: 2 Newts 0 Safes (received 2 Newts)
Farm 3: 2 Newts 0 Safes (no changes)

Agree with comments that it would be nice to get immediate results. Already have to wait an hour for the train and then more time to harvest it. This does not result in anticipation for the stable/workshop; it causes boredom with the event, especially for players who are just looking to get the new pens/workshops.

 

625 is an offensive amount - not because it is to high, but because it is designed to require that you put in more value than is required given that no stable has a value ending in 5 - therefore, you must always put in a minimum of 630 - seems to be a bit of a slap in the face by the developers

 

I agree with all your suggestions pnp.

Managed to get 2 Newts, 2 pinks and 6 Ladybug nests so far.

Just noticed - After your train has departed you can get your Mystery Cargo instantly by paying 1 BB

 

G&T and Farm Express that's a winning combination! Now we only need a Super Shop Sale - that would be so great! Agree with the farmers who argues for an extra slot in the Farm Express Train. It would be much appreciated!

 

I agree with you on this one. I not only would like to see batch loading for the available windows on the train.

I would like it to go even further: I would like to enter every pen that I no longer want or need and then have an informative bar telling me the total value; how many pens I am getting and how many points I am over (so that I could delete some of the pens to make it the exact amount needed). The reason for this is simple: The train always seems to show up during an event when my fields are full of crops and I don't have my pens on it -- I don't want to accidentally trade one that I want/need. I also like the idea of being able to just make one or two trips . This time there are 2 types of mystery cargoes so 2 trips would be necessary if you wanted to try for both items. Further trips would be for those items received that are not wanted/needed.

 

I agree with Memontee that 625 is a stupid amount which requires overpayment. I have been less than impressed with this event. So far I have donated 63 times and not received a safe workshop or a newt. Extremely disapponted....... Those odds are just terrible and unfair.

Update: Over 70 donations to the train now and no newts or safe workshop received! something definitely wrong here .... I hate this event, I have donated so much yet others have several stalls after a handful of tries??????

 

I love all mystery stable and tree events. These where there is a chance to win something you can't get any other way, are a particular favorite.

That being said, a) I find the 625 figure to be petty and annoying, for the reasons stated above. b) the two kinds of waiting is also highly irritating. As has been said - when we do the pick a tree spree, we find out immediately. c) the amounts that pens are worth seems very arbitrary and does not always make a lot of sense. and d) it seems a tiny bit TOO random, personally I have had great luck this time around but others have not, and while randomness is part of the fun, there comes a point where one stops wanting to try.

 

We used to have 3 choices, 250, 500 and 1000.

 

I liked this event. I agree that I would prefer to know what the stable is immediately and I also noted that it was virtually impossible to get exactly 625 but I was very pleased with my results. A few stables/workshops that I won't necessarily use but one never knows when something might become in "vogue"!

Thank you for making it possible for the first time I can remember that I got the "new" animals on the block within their introductory event.

 

If you are going to charge me to get a particular stable/workshop, tell me the fee and let me decide if I want to pay it. This sending in the train with valued stables/workshop and wondering what you will wind up with is not that much fun. I don't know how it is decided but, I sent the train at least 20 times (each) to get either the Newt or Safe stables. I did not get either one.

At least when I bought the 30 stables I knew I get at least one Crocodile stable and I did end up with 4. I also got higher level stables/workshops on existing animals. But introducing a new animal or stable through the train leaves too much to chance. Now how do we get a Newt or Safe stable/workshop?

 

Farm-Coin-A-Palooza-Days starts May 25th and with each breeding you have a high chance of receiving a farm coin.
I completely finished the Totally Wild About Animals Event (a first for me) and will not be breeding any more animals for this farm until the next breeding event. That means that I cannot get any farm coins. This event required 335 badges to finish so I know there were at least 335 breedings done even though there was a chance of getting more than one badge (may have received 1-2).

I think that if you were going to offer farm coins during a breeding event it should have been for the complete event time including both Baby Boom Days. I just don't think that it is fair the way you did this.

 

Dont feel bad.. i had left over power fed as i didnt get all steps on the wild about animals event. so used them to make animals... some how for some reason i saw or thought i saw that coin event has started right after the babyboom event.... and i harvested my animals and got badges but no coins.... i was so mad..... logged out and back in and had to come to fourm to look for info before i made a post about it... well i never made one as the event hasnt started yet... im like OH NO.

yes what power feed i can get now i doubt i will use it on the coin event.... but if i do i know i doubt i can get anything... but least i think the coins can be saved up.... cause for me... thats the only way i can buy good things....lol this farmer is slow...lol

 

You beat me to it, nm56: the fact that BP would schedule the time for the coins event when baby boom is not active, and thus results are poorer than usual, is maddening. I view this as nothing but an attempt to force us to buy PF outside of baby boom, which most farmers don't do. I for one will not only not be participating in this blackmail, I'm disinclined to purchase during BB this weekend as well.

In regards to the train event, gotta say I loved it. You can also add me to the farmers who like and agree with pnp's suggestions to improve it, as well.

 

I was finished with this event during the 1st Baby Boom Days before the notice about farm coins was posted. Why should someone who buys PF now to finish the event receive farm coins while someone who had PF leftover from a previous event do without? It just seems that BP does some things to alienate their players for some reason. I already did at least 335 breedings so I am not going to do anymore for this event when Dogs vs Cats is coming up in June. If you weren't going to offer the farm coins for the entire Totally Wild breeding event then you could have at least posted the notice the same time as the notice for the 1st Baby Boom so that players would be aware of it.

There are usually 2 Baby Boom mini-events during a breeding event. The next one will probably offer both badges and farm coins. So my complaint is that the notices were not posted early enough to notify us of this. I would have wanted to earn enough farm coins to get that Cloud Row offered plus maybe some other items.
