Really looking forward to meeting you and the reindeer especially "you know who". Will bring my wellies and camera and just hope I don't get lost!

You have my phone number, so if you're lost I can talk you in, reindeer are well hidden but the map sent will get you there (you may need to tell me the colour of you car as I am useless on makes unless it's a 4x4 or a tractor!!!) Heehee.
I am so looking forward to your visit, to finally meet you, and so that you can share with all others that are too far away to ever meet them, that they are "real" and are wonderful loving creatures... I love reindeer and wanting everyone to as well.

My herd were very down today, it happens every year with their annual vaccinations that I did yesterday. They go off feed, limp, sulk and give me the mean eye - it stings and it hurts for a few days... they say elephants never forget but reindeer hold a grudge for weeks!!!. It's a sheep vaccination (but only one available & needed). Sheep advice is subcutaneous as they are meat animals but subcutaneous on reindeer always causes abscesses (they are prone to them) so I give IM which I don't get secondary problems (abscesses) apart from limps for a few days... :( They just need cuddles until they aren't sore..[IMG]
Just adding as a sub note so that not seen easily... The reindeer girl in US suffering from a tick problem (Babeosis), they lost her and obviously her unborn calf at 11 am Illonios time... So they have lost all their reindeer in a matter of days.. :( . I am not one for praying but everyday I see my herd healthy I am so grateful... They aren't the easiest of animals.. So far we are "cooking on gas" despite today's "sulk". Can't guarantee all my calves will survive but I'll tackle how to share good and hopefully not bad news next month...

I'm so jelly that Lilaclady gets to snuggle your reindeer in person!!!!:p Give a few rubs from me.....especially Hector! Can you please take some pics? Have a wondeful time!!!:D
Where is Elsa in the pic of the sulking, resting herd? Is she joining in the group more? Is she warming up to you Karen?

Such sad news of the U.S. reindeer. Yes, Karen, please cherish your healthy herd!:inlove:

Brooke, Elsa is far right (the close up one). She's one of the ones particularly holding a grudge. She is giving Twiglet hell too since Twig has lost her antlers and me too...
Most reindeer I sneak around, attach lead rope and vaccinate before they know what's happening but Elsa Twig and Ana I needed to herd into chute and clamp before I injected and hoof trimmed... they remember that I won and hold a grudge for weeks!!! :)

So sad about the US deer - the farmer must be devastated to lose his whole herd so quickly.

Karen, do you have left and right handed reindeer. Reason I'm asking - in the above photo, 9 are laying on their left side, but one is laying the other way round.

And am I correct is 'seeing' only 5 left with antlers atm?

I think it's more likely me being right handed and all but Elsa got their inoculation in their right thigh - heehee. They are all sore and Boris on 3 legs, bless him (he's always the biggest baby)! Only 5 left with antlers/part antlers.

Sanddollar.... How on earth did you know that sand????? Thank you. :)

Sad to hear about the US reindeer loss. :( They are such beautiful creatures.

Great photo of the group, and thanks for listing the names in order! Really hoping for all the girls to have successful calves and sending extra blessings your way.:)

So sad to hear the news about the US reindeer. I hope that no one is sulking next week, still they will all probably get a laugh when they see me (by the way my car is silver) Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, same date as mine but different month.

Boris is sulking even more as he has dropped his entire left antler (he shed part of front right last week).

The general sulk is much better, they are less lame today and starting to get back their appetite.
I think, but only think, I saw a Lotte kick today. I usually need to see 3 in a row before I commit as the first is just to locate where on tummy I think I saw movement and then I keep watching but she was grazing and browsing amongst the others and the others got in the way but I'm pretty sure. :)

Poor Boris but I am glad they are all feeling a little better today. I will keep my fingers crossed for Lotte.

Poor Boris, that looks really sore. I am glad they are getting back to themselves and it will be
very exciting if Lotte is expecting too!

I am splitting my sides with laughter tonight, so much fun can be had from very little...
Picture is my Birthday present from hubby but the backwards and forwards comments "elsewhere" from a "forever friend". She lives the other side of "the Pond", we became very close in Sept 2010.. any guesses from where???... We met as were neighbours and both started playing Farmerama in late 2010 when both of our mothers died... She no longer plays but we are still so very close.. :)
My Birthday present from hubby!!! Good job I love pork pies! :)

I am hoping Freya holds onto her antlers for a while longer. I really want her to have the biggest antlers in the herd lol.

Hope you had a great birthday Karen. Twenty-one again, was it?

Thank you all for Birthday wishes but back on track!!!

For all Freya's fans.. She still has her antlers. As BLZ said she will soon have the biggest set but the sooner she sheds the better antlers she'll have this year so I hope she doesn't hold onto them too long. :)

Lovely sunny day here today - colder than last week but temperature rising this weekend.
