Yes a baby sister for Hector. Katya is becoming my "Star" mother, boy she produces some crackers... :) (as do they all).

I have now uploaded the video just after I found my new arrival. Katya is so trusting that I could spray the navel immediately, she never worries about me handling her calves. So once again I have stained purple fingers. Thought you may like to see this newborn and how confident she is.

PS open for suggestions for names.... but not Buttercup as has been suggested elsewhere (sounds too much like a cow). Tonight's thoughts Sundew, Sunny for short, (my first pony) but not fixed yet.

is the STAR mom for sure:inlove::inlove: I think "Starblaze" as she reminds me of a shooting star across the sky!;)

Beautiful video and it is obvious that Katya loves and trusts you so much. I agree about the name Buttercup, it does seem more of a name for a cow. I think the name "blaze" as suggested by Brookeham is a great idea.

At the moment I'm thinking Amber???

I was thinking Ginger, but it's not a name everyone likes. Amber is a great name for her!

With her coloring, I think Amber is a nice choice! :)

Bonnie or Honey but Amber is nice too.

Love her little white markings around the eyes.

The blue eye might be an influence of the white markings on the face. Imagine the skin running inside the eye socket and it might be pink.

If photo you are referring to is in field shelter, it may have been my flash that made her eyes appear blue, but reindeer eyes are different to most mammals as they can detect ultra violet light. It is said that their eyes change between brown and blue to cope with snow but I can't say I have noticed it but then we don't get much snow here. Albino reindeer have blue eyes, year round I believe.
Still unnamed, but quite like the suggestion of Belle... I'm still thinking..

The pictures you have taken of the new babies are fantastic. The latest little baby girl looks so pretty lying there in the grass. Her ears look so soft and cuddly!

Just had an enquiry from France to purchase my babies, Italy last year and Ireland & Wales also this year.... :( Baby reindeer seem to be like trying to find "hens teeth" - must try to find my new boy quickly. There are herds I "know" of but am loathe to approach them in case their reindeer are not what I would hope for, healthwise... BUT I have to bite the bullet pretty soon.. :(

8)Looking at that photo of her lying there with her nose by that flower...the name 'Buttercup' does come to mind......:music:xD

*How about *Phoenix* for her burnished red coat? (could be 'Nixxy' for short).

She sure does look like an original! Another 'huggybaby' for certain!!:inlove: What a gorgeous, sweet-baby-photo!! Another great picture for a book!!

Or, heyho!...how about "Blossom"?? (Still too cow-ish? But it does seem to fit...as we will watch her blossom into a beautiful young Lady)
Ah, well - we will love her no matter what she is named!!:inlove:

I loved Phoenix, Blaize and many other names but passing past hubby he always finds a reason for not going with them... often connections I can't make. :( I have settled on Belle as I believe she is beautiful.

Picture is only one of the sequence I took yesterday, as it has rained and rained... Planning on building an Arc here in the UK! We needed the rain BUT not this much!
