So sorry to hear your tragic news. You must be devastated but as you've said before, things like this happen so quickly. Is there any risk to the rest of the herd?

Hopefully not... I am now wondering if maybe it was Freya that ate the cable but who knows. Asked vet at time about PM (Necropsy) but he said there wasn't much point as she died of bloat so isn't a problem to rest of herd... Bloat isn't uncommon in ruminants, isn't contagious, can be caused by too much grain (but they don't get grain) too lush grass but my grass is pretty dry at the moment, blockage etc etc - rumen imbalance just happens... :(
I'm numb, sorry, not up to fighting cause just yet - Just have a blanket round the rest of the herd until we heal... :(

    On a brighter note..
A Thor & Loki update - even I didn't recognise my "little" babies!

Thor broke the main growth point of his left antler early in the growth phase - if he hadn't they would have been magnificent for a yearling bull.

Fatherhood seems to be suiting my young boy, Hector.
His antlers continue to grow and he even seems to be growing a brow blade/spade....
Still a couple of weeks of growing time left, although they are now slowing down but pretty impressive for a two year old.
Luckily he is only guiding me to the feeding trough by his nose at the moment but once those antlers harden (August, maybe) he will have to go into the male equivalent of Purdah! [IMG]:)

    give you!xD
