That sounds like the perfect place for Elsa and Bruno to be! Maybe in time Elsa will get to want to go there again, and like you said if she is too stressed you can always swap her with Twiglet and Fergie!

It sounds a great idea to see if Elsa would be happy there with Bruno. I am sure he will make certain he gets all the attention so that his mum does not get too stressed!

Certainly worth a try! And with "move away room", a baby and tempting lichen she might take to the booking. Poor Twiglet, apparently she has as much of a problem with lichen as I do with chocolate!:p

Virtual hugs required for Herman.. He has an eye infection (Newforest Disease), darn those damn flies who spread it far and wide amongst livestock mile away...

Don't worry though, he'll be fine in a week now I have treated with an antibiotic cream (that's the white goo in eye).

The first time I encountered a blue eye with no sight and extremely light sensitive, in Twiglet, many years ago I thought she'd be blind for life but a week of antibiotics in said eye brought it back to normal.. So he'll be fine, just needs extra TLC! :)

Herman's eye without ointment.... It looks so scary but I have experienced this before and when treated early it shouldn't ulcerate and SHOULD be back to normal next week as I caught it very early.
In himself, very little difference, apart from keeping said eye closed when in direct sunlight.

He's still determined on eating from the big girl/boy trough not the 4 at ground level! :) but now he doesn't need tippy toes! (Good eye to camera).

Oh this sign made me giggle... Maybe I should get one made for The RUT...
I had someone climb my fences yesterday and walk amongst my deer (no problem for them at this time of year but during the RUT they could be kebabbed - my gates are always locked).. but!

:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove: that sign! I just don't understand why someone thinks it is ok to go onto someones property especially when it is fenced in and there are animals on it! Why would you do that?!!

OMGoodness, I have only just seen how many posts, followers etc this reindeer post has in Gabfest (I'm a techno numpty)... I think BP should award contributors at least a Golden Banana each, as it seems to me that you are all beyond in your support... I will send you all a virtual one... :) Thank you all so much for following my babies over the years xxx
Massive hugs and thank you for sharing my ups and downs and supporting me throughout. xx

I think a sign like that would be a great idea. On the other hand for someone to think they can just climb over a fence on to someone's land and walk amongst their animals without the owner's permission is diabolical, and if they were kebabbed it would serve them right!

So sweet, it seems that Elsa has appointed herself as permanent baby sitter. She changes so much when babies are around. The rest of the year, she is a grumpy loner but babies are her "thing". :)

Another sign that made me laugh... One of their followers on FB came up with it.

Only two days ago a neighbour confronted someone that had climbed my gates - no danger at this time of year but September- November could have been a different story!

I love both signs!!!!:inlove: I had my entire family come over to have hysterics at them!!!!xD I cannot believe people climbing a fence to private property!>:(
Dear Elsa....how sweet is she to be the designated babysitter! I wish she would hang on to some of that when the babies grow up.
Karen - Awww such kind words to us followers!! YOur thread is my absolute favorite!!! I've learned so much about reindeer!!!! I would never would have had the opportunity to do so in my area...way too hot for reindeer! Plus, I'm an animal lover and have become very attached to each of your herd. I cried for days when you lost your "heart boy". :cry:I'm hoping Herman can take his place. Thank you so much for all the lovely or funny pics and generously sharing your herd with us!!!;)

xDThe signs are hilarious - and more true than the thoughtless gate-climbers could know. The presumption of some people is amazing!>:( I can't imagine doing something like that without permission.

On a happier note - your thread is the most delightful in the forum! I love the photos and videos; as well as learning about the lovely reindeer. Like Brooke, I am very much attached to your sweeties; rejoicing, sorrowing and laughing with you as you share the ups and downs of caring for these amazing creatures. I can't believe how much I have learned about them since reading these posts! Thank you for sharing them with us.:inlove:
