I launched a competition on FB to meet the babies and have met some lovely people (5 families have won) who have been following the herd on social media.. Only two have visited so far (one cancelled as it was raining) and two more pending but thought I'd share photo's that have been posted (shared)... People I know aren't allowed to win, which makes it more special to me :)

    Brooke
Ana is so chilled now with people around her baby Freya and even a little more chilled in general... I don't think she'll ever be one of my "working" reindeer but she is so much more confident within the herd too.. She will even chase the other tame girls from time to time... :)
Everything smelling of Roses (at the moment!!).

How nice of you to have a "meet the reindeer" event! The photos of the children are so cute! Very good news about Ana; so glad she has become more relaxed and confident. :)

Nothing exciting to report today - just an update. Except that I have purchased the first batch of vaccine for the babies first shots..
I now have to work on strategy as once breached vaccine needs using within 10 hours (for now, it resides beside the butter in my fridge!).
I can pretty much, stroke and at a push catch all babies - until something happens to stress one and then, not a chance.. they can gallop close to their mother's speeds of 50 mph!
I have time to work out strategy - I may bring them to home paddock where there is a corral (so easier to get them all at once) but it also means recombining the herd. Was hoping Freya would be a little larger before introducing her to the "Monster" but maybe she is big enough now, or at least soon???
Long Meadow (6 acre paddock) has catching facilities but it is down to hay so I would loose the babies, as the grass is now taller than they are - so that's out..!

The pictures are beautiful. Perhaps Hector would feel protective towards little Freya and behave himself!

Don't think I have shared this on here ... I have had a couple of Wildlife photographer come to take pictures of babies recently...

The first had an "out take" of Hector chewing on his camera case... but this wins for me... Mischa stealing the props.... Not a picture they can use... Wildlife?? ;) But it sums up my herd!!! :)

Photo above was Mischa about 3 weeks ago... Mischa is way ahead on the moult.
I had a great session on all tame adults today, the rest still look dreadful but Mischa is NEARLY there.. and doesn't she look good. Feeding Thor hasn't taken much from her condition at all. Hubby calls her lard a**e - but he's not nice! :)

And Willow... not that I'm bragging but the last baby photos were mine. Mischa stealing was the Pro's.

Mischa does look good. Bellies are the hardest to get to shed as they don't use the muscles there much. (Same with horses, lol.) :)
