I see there are a couple of "fans" who want to be in the picture too! Is that Boris beyond the gate? I like the point where Hector turns his head to look at you like "What are you looking at?" :)

Caviar, the initial "fly by" is Ana but later Boris... Katya is also beyond wanting to go in rutting paddock... a hormone thing and Boris will just be winding Hector up without wanting to fight over the next few weeks..

Foreground is Mischa, Twig and Lotte (Hector's harem) hoping to find a way of safely introducing Ana in the next week as her baby Freya is now big enough to wean...but tactics will be required :(..

At the moment hormone problems are manageable... but they will become a serious issue in the next few weeks...
Just a general video of most..

Hector is definitely interested in his "job". :inlove: xD

Looks like Lexi is doing okay. Do you plan to check under the bandage anytime soon?

Will think good thoughts on your reindeer logistics for the next few weeks. :)

Lexi sorted that problem for me, as she removed the top off her dressing. It looks a lot better, so fingers crossed.

Thought today's goofy photo of Hector may make you smile.

And a Freya update... those antlers are getting HUGE ;)
This photo maybe my cutest of the week. She was saying hello to Boris.

I tried not to contact Thor and Loki's new owners this week as I knew they were busy with house move and kids going back to school BUT the 9 days the have been gone seems like an eternity to me... Got a few photos... :)

They do look happy! (Did you have weekly contact with the new owners before the boys left? If not, maybe the new owners just don't "write" often. Pictures are worth a thousand words. :) )

Happy & Healthy!;) It also looks like a really nice farm....to keep them safe. Do you think the boys would remember you if you went up and visited next summer? :music:

The Rut... :( I hate it..
My best buddy and my cutest baby ever had become the Monster from h*ll and he isn't 16 months yet.. he will be my friend in another couple of months BUT it is hard at the moment that I can no longer trust my cuddles bunny!

I suspected, given Hector's mischevious ways, he would be a monster during the rut.:wuerg: I hope there aren't any real troubles or dangers. In a few months you will have your cuddle bunny back.:p
Little Freya is a little angel though.:music:

Nothing much to report.. Hector poking the girls with his antlers to keep them together... but they aren't "ready yet". My previous years calculation show they first come into oestrous a couple of days after stripping velvet - none of the girls have yet...
In the meantime I tried to take some arty f*rty photos... conditions were great BUT I need to invest in a new camera!!! :(

Thor and Loki look very content and it looks like a lovely farm they are living on. I totally agree with
Brookeham that they are such great reindeer because you gave them so much love and wonderful care!
You can be a proud reindeer mom!;)

Thank you all for votes of confidence... Don't feel proud yet just bereft..
They have a wonderful new home.. I wouldn't have parted with them unless I was absolutely convinced that the would have the most wonderful lives... So only feeling sorry for my loss SO NO Sympathy required :( I will sulk in corner!! Heehee!

Nothing exciting to report. Hector worrying about his harem, even though non of them have stripped so far. But he needs to keep them together. He will drop weight over the next 8 weeks, so always a worry.
I missed most of the chase but you should get the general idea.
