Hi BoHoKaren or to any other farmer understanding of using Howie Donuts.

This Statement is incorrect....read the next statement that explains why ???

Howie Donuts are Ineffective if they are placed in The Park or Shipwreck. The Same goes to Animal Trophy and Crop Trophy also Ineffective is placed in The Park or Shipwreck. Howie Donuts, Crop Trophy and Animal Trophy Effectiveness to Boost Drops only works on

• Main Field
• Green Meadow
• The Glade
• Bahamarama Island
• Rainforest (Newly Introduced Land)

But cannot get Tool Drops on Bahamarama or Rainforest !!!

 

Go back and read my post Mooboy, and you will see that my statement is correct, Karen just didn't quote the whole sentence.

What I am saying is that the owl bonus applies to all fields unlike the trophies and howies

 

Since I seriously raided my Baha barn to get stars to open the new land (yippee!!!) I've got mine covered in 1x1's and fully planted. Going to take me awhile to replenish those crops. I don't even want to look at what I did to my MM crops.

 

I usually keep mine in a fixed spot, then move them around if I want extra drops for something special (like the recyclomat for instance). That works fine for me

I leave mine on the field with the highest turnover (usually wherever I'm growing crops), and then only move him if, like Mir, I want extra drops.

You will have no problem with rehoming Howie and getting something you do want for your farm. I know that they are very valuable and hard to come by...I've been playing 3 years and have only acquired one and it was gifted during G/T. I always hope when I buy BB that I will get one but not yet...Good luck with your 'Howie sale'

 

If you have stars to spare the Rain Forest is an easy way of opening all fields on Island without wasting other resources. Then you can use it to build resources needed to unlock Main Island fields...

 

I have been trading in G & T for Howies and have 2 in each of the fields you mentioned Mir except Rainforest.
It was one of your posts originally that made me aware of Howies Mir.

 

I purchased the new land with stars, but I can't find it. Does it come out later?

Scroll your mouse under the Temple on Baha and you should find the Rain Forest area .

 

Here is the FAQ about the new Rain Forest. There's a picture that shows exactly where to find it on the island.

If you just place your Howie in one of the non-barren lands (that is, any land except the Park and Shipwreck Is.), it should do its job there, for that land you place it in.

I have 2 of them and have placed one in the Magical Glade and the other one in the Meadow but never trek them along the lands for harvesting, not even during events.

If you don't want to move it, just keep it in one of the non-barren lands. But, if I were you, I wouldn't toss it away: you never know when it may be helpful for your drops.

 

I acquired the new rainforest this morning (just returned from a month's vacation away with no internet). I had over 500 stars built up waiting for the new area. I got my little pets there and am not sure what I will plant, trees, animals or crops just yet.

About the Howie, they are very difficult to get and very rare. I have played for over 5 years and buy BB's at least once a month and have never gotten one either.

 

I got my rain forest opened yesterday when I finally forked over some of my MM crops to get the stars. I moved all my trees and animals in and freed up my main Baha land for crops.
