Many of us have been asking for some time to have fewer events. Being a business owner and therefore responsible for the generation of my own income stream, I can see where the Decision Making Powers of a gaming company might have a difficult time picking a strategy which can maximize player happiness while at the same time maximizing profits. To that end I propose the following:

Events to be held on the event playfield. All the time. As they schedule is now - one ends, another begins. This will provide the constant possibility for event related sale, enjoyment for the segment of players who really like events all the time, and keep new ideas coming, which is essential for the long term development of any company.

Event CROPS to be grown ONLY on the event playfield. But if the event requires drops, DROPS will come from farm fields, whether it be all of them, or select ones, just as it is now. This provides: the constant possibility for drop related sales; the constant possibility for support sales, such as SG, SSG, TM to assist with the production of drops; the constant ability of players to continue farming to work on personal goals such as FSQ, building up of stocks, etc.

Some events to require only EVENT related items, and some to require regular items, exactly as happens now - but with my scenario, people would not be torn between needing to grow event crops and needing to grow the other things. This could actually really help the marketplace - right now, the prices of everything are so out of proportion. Yes, you can make a killing with very little effort, but you can also spend exorbitant sums, so there really isn't any parity, and as a result, a lot of people are no longer utilizing the market as they once did, which is NOT beneficial. Anyone with a basic understanding of Econ 101 knows that when the providers of supply and demand become wildly imbalanced, the SYSTEM of supply and demand breaks down and no longer follows the rules, which exist to perpetuate the functionality of the system.

To sum up, if we had events all the time, where crops were grown in the special place, drops came from regular farming, and some regular farm needs were included in many events, you'd have a concept that pleases those who like events, those who want a FARM game, while still providing opportunities for spending, but most importantly, returning to the game a level of happiness in the players, not by giving them exactly what they want, but by giving them a set of attainable goals, which makes people want to do the little extra that it takes, rather than largely UNattainable goals, which makes pretty much everyone just want to give up and walk away.
