'New players are not welcome' is the message that is being sent out.

A new player gets through the tutorial and thinks to themselves "well i better grow some crops to get to level 5 so that then i can sell those crops". They get to level 5, head to the market with there crops to sell. Guess what? They can't sell their crops due to the prices being to high and they haven't got the Country Coin to pay the 10% need to list their crops.

Sure they can sell 1 and wait for it to sell, list another and wait for it to sell, list 2 wait for the sale, list 2 wait for the sale, list 3... you get the picture I am sure.

    Or they leave the game.

The markets are separate for a reason - to stop people with multiple accounts from exploiting the game by selling to themselves - among others.

The Markets are supply and demand based to a point, I is us the players that control the pricing beyond the limiting governing mechanics of the program.

So is it not players exploiting players and telling newbies they are not welcome by blocking the market on basic starter crops.

My experience is that yes I got through the tutorial, got to level 5, I could not sell 100 units of cress, lettuce, wheat or carrots due to the prices being too high. 200 CC per cress, 400 per lettuce, 800 per wheat. Fortunately I new to go and do some more Farmer Society Quests and fill what ever Farm Order slots i could to get enough CC to list 100 Wheat at 400 cc each.

A newbie does not know the game, they may have done the tutorial but there is still a lot they do not know. Remember they start with about 600 CC and then have to spend some of that on seed, does not leave much to place listings on the Market.

It is time for us players to start opening up the Market and welcoming newbies to the game. Leave major market playing for higher level crops, leave at least the first 4 crops reasonably managed. Though I would like to see the first 8 crops reasonably managed.

Thank you for your time in reading this.
    Happy farming.

Ok, Eonn went nEon with the above post.
I am fine with players playing the market. Yes by all means sell large amounts of crops at large prices for when there is a demand, but please also think about the Newbies and reset the governing mechanism with a small amount at a lower price - a price where newbies can still enter the market.

For an explanation of the governing mechanism you are going to ask someone else (or a long time player with a better memory than me), but the basics is that it is there so that prices do not jump to high all at once but it also sets the market price indicator. All I am asking if you are selling your large quantities at high prices make a small listing at a lower price when you are finished (This on the first 4 stater crops that is most important).

    Thank you, Happy farming

We all began our farm like you did. We had to learn the game.
    Welcome.

farmer_broke I use to play 6-7 years ago under another name. I was here when you first started and you use to come into (the now non existent) chat room.

We all learn each day we breathe.

All I am trying to do is make it fair for newbies to enter the market so that the markets can grow again. I have no interest in playing the market (no time, no cc, no resources and there is too much of the game to keep me happy if not drive me insane - also still getting to know what all the changes are and how they affect the game).

Good luck with making your CC, and Happy farming everyone.

keep buying my low market listings so I make a few CC - it helps you also, it increases your profit margin.

Play fair, have fun, enjoy the game. Other than that there isn't much - except have a straight-jacket ready for when the game sends me insane ;) (It might be a bit late though)

I do enjoy the game and want to see it around for a long time to come.
Right now I need to do some FSQs - to earn some stars - to be able to clear more of the meadow - to be able to plant an apple orchard - to be able to make the feed to feed my animals - to be able to complete more FSQs to earn more stars... and the circle continues (except for the apple part). Oh, and did I say the game keeps me very busy. o_O

:)Welcome to the game (again), Eonn!

I'm enjoying your back-and-forth with Broke - but he is always 'Broke'. What he chooses to spend his Billions on is an open question whose answer remains his own
    .
There are more ways to start a farm than relying on crop growing...(which would drive me " 'round the bend'").

For instance...chickens are cheap. Once you have enough crops to afford and support a chicken or two, keep multiplying your chickens and start producing/selling eggs, also. They bring in more $$ than starter crops, and also give you time to grow longer crops(to bring in more $$) along side of the chickens so you can buy more chickens! (They will also give you a good starter "nest egg") o_Opardon the pun! And, with longer crops, and chickens, there should be more time to do all those other things you mentioned - or not. :music:

(Farmer Broke just looooves those chickens, and we delight in sending him some every so often during a Gift & Trade event...especially the yellow ones.;))

This was (basically) how I started my farm, and from there it has grown up into a multi-Billion$$ "happy place", full of almost every kind of animal, bird, fish, and tree in Farmerama. xDGotta love those chickens!!xD

The above is just one way to get started with this game - and it sounds like you have a good start, too, if you are already clearing the Meadow, doing FSQ's, and ready to plant an apple orchard!:D I hope you'll continue with us all and keep posting your progress with your farm here!

The difficulties we all face in the beginning are a good way to cull the ones who will be successful and enjoy the game, and those who might not get as much pleasure from it and won't continue playing. In any case, most of us wind up here for the 'long haul'. Here's hoping you will stay with us!

Welcome back to the Farm, Eonn!:)

(And new(er) players are always very welcome, too! :)

Thank you for the welcome back farmlily3.

I understand that there are more ways than one to do things in the game (and real life). My in-game farm is doing well for only being about 3 weeks old (if I do say so myself).
The other farmers, the wheel, crates and events have been very kind to me so far. :D Still trying to get my head around some of the changes.

So as you can see this thread wasn't about me per se, but about the market entry being blocked for new players on the 4 starter crops.
On market 40 this is slowly being resolved - too slow, but getting there.

    Happy farming :)

    Hi Eonn!
Yes, I understood your concern about the newbie prices...having gone through the same 'trauma' as you were describing,
and I was also trying to leave something behind that others could benefit from. I should have mentioned that your observation and concern had been noted and appreciated - as I'm sure others will also appreciate.
Good to hear that there is some progress in that regard!

Thank you for clarifying those thoughts - I like 'clean slates' between people, even small plates! Lol

    :)Happy farming to you too!

P.S. 3 weeks!:D hahaha!...you certainly Can 'say that for yourself!! Well Done!!
